This will be a quick review. Worst book I have ever read.

4 Stars From Sammy's Book Obsession! MY THOUGHTS~  So, One Percenters...good story. I liked it. Didn't love it, but it was good for what it was. I evidently didn't read the synopsis very thoroughly before I bought it though. I went into this thinking it was going to a serious biker book, but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, there ARE bikers, but they're not really prominent. Maybe one. Anyway, the writing was good. The characters weren't as well developed as I think they could've been. They did have some complexity, I guess. I think I just should have paid more attention to what I was buying. I've been on a Biker/MC kick for a long time and this just wasn't what I assumed it would be (again, that's all on me) . Not the author or the story's fault though. I will say that I really think that unless the author intended to write a realistic, hard-core Biker/MC book, I would've rethought the title. One Percenter gives a different impression that what this story portrays in my opinion. Great read if you're looking for New Adult Romance with a touch of Bikers!

Bikers, romance, sexy bad boy and mystery? What's not to love about a book that contains all of that? Dark and edgy, this book blew me away. The characters were amazingly written and complex, even though Tienne had her annoying moments (I'll get to that later), I was pretty impressed.  This type of romance isn't what I'm typically into- I'm more a hearts and flowers, fluffy romance, type of girl- but the edginess of this book, the dark romance, the story-line, everything, just appealed to me. I struggled to put it down. The fact that Tienne's motivation was wanting to give her brother a better life, spoke to me and it told me a lot about Tienne's character. The sibling relationship between Tienne and Cooper was perfect and in an effort to avoid spoiling the story for all of you, I have to say that my heart really broke and I vowed never to read another D.R Graham book again (of course that won't really happen). Now on to Tienne's annoying moments. I love that she's a very strong and well-rounded character, but I felt like her flaws were too emphasized.  The way she treated Aiden when she first left the life, even though Aiden was willing to stay by her side through everything and anything, well, that really pissed me off. Not only that, but she was a bit blindingly trusting when it came to the country-club boyfriend (whose name I just can't seem to recall at the moment.) I would have thought Tienne to be a bit more wary. But aside from that, this book was gut-wrenching, heart-breakingly beautiful. D.R Graham is really talented when crafting a story, from the way she sets a scene, to the way she pours feeling into all her words. I highly recommend this book.

Tienne begins this book on a path to change her life.  Aiden, her boyfriend, wants them to be together forever and goes about making that happen.  Tienne is looking for an excuse to not become her mother, which is what she thinks will happen if she stays with Aiden so she finds the perfect excuse to break up with him.  Aiden gives her space and Tienne finds herself becoming friends with her new social circle and being drawn to Leland.  Leland pursues Tienne and wants them to become more than friends.  Tienne doesn't follow her heart but thinks by using her head she will get further in life.  She doesn't realize just how far Aiden is willing to go for her to prove his love and to make her happy.  Tienne puts her trust into the wrong person and struggles with the loss of her father and now suffers another painful loss.  Aiden stands by her throughout this and waits patiently for her to realize that he is what she needs.  Tienne's Aunt and Uncle, while trying to give her a better life, do make her feel that she has no choice but to move forward with Leland if she doesn't want to become her mother.  It winds up causing Tienne heartache and, ultimately, more than she can bear.  When all of the secrets are exposed about Leland, Tienne realizes that she should have followed her heart all along.  Overall a decent read and had plot twists and turns that keep you reading.

Not your typical MC romance fact, i think it's a very fresh take on the cut and dry everyday MC romances. Seeing these two young adults face challenges of loosing not only their dad, but trying to assimilate into a new "opposite" life-style, that of the country club set. Leaving the past behind may be their biggest mistake. I really loved the angst and teen/ya views on the challenges they faced. Even knowing that some choices can have life changing consequences. Moments of moral values that made me so proud of Tienne, and moments that made me feel like she was the most kick-ass person around. With her 'take no crap' from people attitude and straight-shot view on things. Her strength and loyalty to her family is heartwarming and then there are moments when your heart with shatter with hers. Between her love of "Gylly" her boy-friend and "Cooper" her brother, she can face any challenge or foe that comes along. An absolute must read and make sure you have some tissues.

It is an amazing story about life-changing experiences, hard choices, love lost-and-found. I really liked the plot and all the characters as well. There was bit of myrtery too which made it all the more interesting. I'd recommend it to all book lovers. It definitely was worth reading.

4 "Don't tell me what to do!" Stars As the old adage goes, “The grass is always greener on the other side.” But is it really? Growing up with absent parents and under the thumb of the notorious Noir et Bleu Motorcycle Club, Tienne Desrochers has only ever known heartache and brutality. As the sole provider for her and her brother Cooper, Tienne dreams of a better life and that chance comes in the form of her Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Blaine. Not being one who likes being told what to do though, living the life as a socialite and rubbing elbows with the upper crust of society is not easy, especially when the man she loves, Aiden Gyllenhall, is the son of the President of the MC she wants no part of and walked away from. It needs to be said that I am a SUCKER for a good Motorcycle Club story. I’m an SOA junky and have fantasies of riding off into the sunset on the back of a bike, with my arms tucked securely around my man, while he is wearing his leather cut. Now, I know that things are not always rosy and romantic when it comes to Motorcycle Clubs and One Percenter is a stark reminder of that. When the glitzy and glamorous world of social elitist and the dark, dangerous world of Motorcycle Club life collide, no one is safe, least of all Tienne and if she plans to make it out alive and with her heart intact, hard choices have to be made and the repercussions could be deadly. One Percenter is a reminder that no matter where you go and no matter what you leave behind, no one is ever really safe. Everyone has their dark secrets and their own demons in the closet, so sometimes running to the greener pastures from the devil you know, is not always good as it seems. While reading this book, I found myself getting very agitated with Tienne and her selfish behavior, but I had to remind myself that she really is only just a young girl and trying to survive in a world that hasn’t been kind to her. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves a good story with a little bit of mystery and a lot of heart. As for me I’m already planning my wedding to Gylly, he had me at hello. Happy reading and until next time… I would like to thank NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for the ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.

One Percenter 23rd February  Beautiful, 5 stars is just not enough. The question is what would you do if you were offered a new life, a fresh start leaving all your painful past behind? It sounds so easy where as in actual fact it's anything but, Tienne Desrochers, eighteen and her brother Cooper, sixteen have been given that chance, up until this point their lives haven't been easy, their father a member of the Noir et Bleu MC always put the club first and now he's dead, their mother is a junkie who apparently had promise and potential but she fell in love with a biker and ended up sad and broken and that's what scares Tienne the most, that she sees herself turning into her mother.  Ever since she can remember she's been in love with Aiden Gyllenhall, she's knows he's 'it' for her but he's not only in the MC but his father is president, Aiden's path is clear and she can see her's laid out before her and she has to get away, if not for herself then for her brother Cooper. Cooper at only sixteen deserves a fresh start and Tienne loves him so much she'll do anything to make sure he gets it, even if it means leaving her heart behind. Designer clothes, flashy car, country club, isn't it every girls dream? But Tienne doesn't fit, it's not who she is, not only has she left her heart behind but she's losing herself, but Cooper fits, he was made for this world and if he's happy she'll try. And she does, she tries to fit in and finds herself, against her better judgement at times attracted to Leland Crofton, could this work, could she move away from her past and have the future she deserves. I loved this book, it's one of those reads where 5 stars is just not enough, this is aimed at the young adult market and while I'm well outside that range this is a beautiful and moving book, the characters feel real and it's written in such a way that you feel their pain, particularly Tienne's. I liked the cover, I loved the synopsis and the book totally captured and held me, I fell in love with these characters, mistakes and all and I knew after a few pages how I wanted this to turn out but there was never any guarantees after all this author is totally new to me so I'd no idea of her style but not only did she make me cry, you'll be the same, trust me I would imagine it's impossible to read this with dry eyes but she made me care and that's the sign of a good writer and a great book. ARC copy from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I loved this book, and I especially love DR Graham's style of writing. Her books are not fluffy romances, but rather complicated, heart-wrenching journeys into the not-so-obvious sides of love. One Percenter is about a strong well-drawn female character, Tienne, who is trying her best to make the move from the wrong side of the tracks to the right side. But it is not easy, to say the least, and if she didn't care so much for her brother, Cooper, I don't know if she could have stuck with it so long.  I especially love characters who are motivated by a sibling, and Tienne and Cooper's relationship grabbed at my heart probably as much or more than the romance in this book. With such well-drawn, complicated family dynamics, I was taken into the underbelly of a brand new world that I otherwise never would have experienced.  For YA and NA fans of complicated, not-easy-to-solve romances, this is a book (and an author) not to be missed!

This new adult romance takes us into the world of a motorcycle club and its effect on an 18 year old woman, Tienne, as she tries to determine what direction her life should take. She's in love with her club boyfriend Aiden but sees a future with him that she doesn't want, breaking things off to try living with her aunt and uncle in the 'normal' world. Meeting country club guy Leland seems like a step in the right direction, but when tragedy strikes, it's only a matter of time before Tienne is called back into her old life - which future path will she chose? I really enjoyed this story! It's not my usual fare, as I tend to stick to heroines that are over 20 but from the very beginning the writing style pulled me in and I found myself invested in Tienne and her choices. Her character is really well written as a strong and determined young woman who knows that she has to change things for herself if she wants the future she is dreaming of, even if it means leaving the love of her life behind. At the same time, she is only 18 with all the insecurities and angst of a teenager, wanting to fit in with the in crowd while appearing on the outside as if she doesn't care what people think of her. She's torn by her feelings for the life she's always known and the reality of it's harshness and brutality. Similarly her relationships with Leland and Aiden show all the complications of young love. Her ex-boyfriend Aiden is a real sweetheart despite Tienne's attempts to keep them separated and he's determined to wait her out in the hopes that she'll come back to him, and to try to show her that they can still have a future together. The emotions and actions of Tienne ring true and the story is a mixture of sadness and sweetness, violence and tenderness. 5 stars for an entertaining and emotional story.

An exceptionally great read - highly recommended! “99% of bikers obey the law. The other 1% make their own” - that’s how the blurb for this book starts. Having read and thoroughly enjoyed this book, I’d add that perhaps only one percent of authors write exceptionally enthralling books - and this is certainly a one percenter for me. Tienne Desrochers spent the first eighteen years of her life growing up in the world of the Noir et Bleu bikers - until her Dad, a leader of the gang, was murdered. Not wanting to end up like her junkie mother, she grabs her sixteen year old brother, Cooper, and moves to live with her childless but very affluent Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Blaine, leaving behind Aiden, her biker boyfriend and love. She tries desperately to fit in with her new life style but designer dresses and shoes, membership of the country club and the like are definitely totally different to what she’s used to! She’s determined to fit in, however, if only for the sake of Cooper, but this life isn’t easy for someone who is more at home in a biker gang. She meets Leland, who fits in with her new life style - rich, a member of the country club set, handsome and he seems to really like her. Should she trust Leland with her heart or does it still belong to Aiden? Can she really leave her past behind completely? This book has hard decision making, people telling lies and not being true about their lives, strong alpha makes, a really feisty female who can kick out at some alpha males, murder, drug dealing, hot bikers, heartbreak and true love all packaged in a hard to put down, well written story. It is so well written the author doesn’t rely on steamy sex scenes to entice her readers, instead writing a great story that I really enjoyed and highly recommend. I will certainly look out for other books by this author in future, especially others in this series! Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.
