About the Author

Edward Whalen, Oracle ACE Director, is Chairman and CEO of Performance Tuning Corporation, a consulting company specializing in database performance tuning, administration, high-availability, and security solutions. He is the author of nine books on Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases for Oracle Press, Addison-Wesley, MacMillan, and Microsoft.

Nic Ventura was a technical solution architect for more than 30 years. He has real-world experience in most aspects of the IT lifecycle, from concept and design to data center and enterprise deployment, including post-implementation support and performance engineering.

Erik Benner is Oracle VM Certified, an Oracle ACE, a published Author and an Enterprise Architect with Mythic's, focused on architecting solutions that meet the customer’s business and technical needs. Erik has been building solutions with Oracle VM 3 since it was released, and has worked with Oracle and Sun Systems since the mid 90s, and is experienced with most of the core Oracle technologies. Erik is a common speaker at Oracle events (OOW, Collaborate and local events) and actively involved with the user community. Erik is a leader with the NATCAP Regional User Group (http://natcapoug.org) , the Solaris SIG, and is active with several other IOUG and OUAG SIGS. When not flying to the far points of the country from the Atlanta Metro area, he enjoys spending time with his family at their Observatory, where the telescopes outnumber the people.
