I love discovering a new author and reading their first book for me is like meeting a new friend. I wasn't sure what to expect but as soon as I saw Montana mentioned I knew it was going to be a good read. I was not disappointed at all. This book is well written and kept my attention from start to finish. Chase Calhoun meets Charlie and Zoe and it changes both of their lives as well as the Calhoun family too. I am looking forward to meeting more of the Calhoun family as this series is written. I as shocked and amazed that the author Juanita Kees was not from the states. She wrote as if she were. Bravo. I not only look forward to more in this series but also look to find other books but this talented author.

Overdrive (Book 1 in the Calhoun Customs Series) by Juanita Kees. This is Chase Calhoun and Charlotte “Charlie” Jackson’s story. This was a fun read. I was hooked from beginning to end. Chase is so wonderful. I love how his family calls him “Mother”. His character is so caring of everyone. Charlie just wants to make a fresh start, to be loved for herself, and the best mother she can be for Zoe. Chase and Charlie are perfect for each other but what will happen when Chase discovers her secrets? What will happen when Charlie’s Past catches up to her? This was an entertaining and enjoyable read. I look forward to the next books in this series. I reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

A great start to the Calhoun Customs Garage series, Overdrive by Juanita Kees. A sure roller-coaster of a storyline. Pulled me in from the first page. Family issues, heartbreak, NASCAR, trying to move on, a little bit of everything you want in a great storyline. The author i haven't read in the past so I'm looking forward to reading more of her books and more in this series.

This is the first book in a new series and if this book is any indication of what's to come I'm excited to read more! Chase and Charlotte's story was so sweet and it's wonderful to see how they heal other. Chase has ghosts from the past that still haunt him but meeting Charlotte and getting close to her and her baby Zoey seems to be exactly the balm his heart needed. Charlotte's issues are in the present and the way Chase helps her them head on is heartwarming. I'm looking forward to the next Calhoun Brothers story! I highly recommend this one.

Single mom, Charlotte “Charlie” Jackson, is on the run from her father because he wants to put her baby up for adoption. He doesn’t want any more scandal from his rebellious daughter, especially about being an unwed mother. Charlie’s brother, Ronan, is a NASCAR driver and her father wants all of the attention on his son. Charlie soon finds herself in Bigfork, Montana in hopes to land a job as a graphic design artist at Calhoun Customs. Chase Calhoun was instantly attracted to Charlie the first time he saw her but he had no idea she was living out of her car and sneaking into his shop at night to sleep in the attic. When he found Charlie and baby Zoe asleep in the attic, he decided he had to do something. Chase took them home and then gave Charlie a job. The last thing he expected was to find out was who she really was, the daughter of one of his father’s racing rivals from back in his NASCAR days. And he definitely didn’t except to find himself falling in love with Charlie. I really enjoyed this book with the background of racing and a custom car shop. It was a little different than the books I have been reading lately. Though it is romance, the story line was more unique and had a lot of excitement and family drama. I couldn’t help getting attached to some of the secondary characters as well and can’t wait to find out more about them in the upcoming books in this series.

Each has something to prove to the world and each other. Whether running from the past or rebuilding a brighter future, Overdrive steers full throttle through life, love and redemption to find a home within your heart. Keeps reminds us through the eyes of Chase and Charlotte of a super important lesson. We are not the sum of our mistakes, but the wisdom we gain from them.
