The truth is that much of the resistance to fascism should be chalked up to the people about whom official accounts having nothing to say. Ingrid Strobl is a well-known filmmaker, artist, lecturer, and writer. She makes her home in Cologne, Germany.

About the Author

Ingrid Strobl was born in 1952 in Austria. There she studied German language, art and art history. Today, she lives as a freelance researcher and author, and for the last twenty years has been lecturing, publishing books, and making documentary films on the topic of Jewish resistance/the resistance of Jewish women against the German occupation and "Final solution." Martha Ackelsberg is a Professor of Government and a member of the Women's Studies Program Committee at Smith College, where she teaches courses in political theory, urban politics, political activism, and feminist theory. She has contributed to a variety of anthologies on women's political activism in the United States.
