I agree with previous reviewers that the plot was pretty transparent, but it was still worth the ride. There were more than a few times that I wondered what Grace Duet was going to do next. And if an author can keep me guessing, even after all of the other mystery/suspense books I've read, then they have written something worth reading.

I liked this book -- it kept my interest right from the beginning. Unfortunately I figured out the ending way too soon but I still enjoyed the book.

Starting with a great premise, a heroine who wakes up in unfamiliar surroundings and in an unfamiliar situation, who tries to figure out the reason for her circumstances, the book gives every indication that it will lead to what will be a climactic end. Wrong. While the final facts tied things together, they give the story an unrealistic and slap dash conclusion. It was like letting the air out of a balloon. There could have been all kinds of solutions for her situation, and it was that element that kept me going to the end. But it seemed the author picked one of the worst possibilities. While there were some holes in the plot as well (why doesn't the heroine just take evasive action and return to the life that she did remember, or seek outside help?) those were easily overlooked as you tried to ferret out the outcome. So the pace and the plot were interesting and allowed you to apply your analytical processes until you were presented with the final piece of the puzzle. The problem is that that piece seemed to be from another game.

In Lori Davis' debut novel there is mystery, suspense, romance, and humor. I love testing out new authors to see if they have 'what it takes', and Ms. Davis surely does. This compelling page turner kept me guessing right up until the very end. Don't miss this exciting new book!

This book was fantastic! It was recommended to me by a friend who works at a bookstore and she said that I didn't need a bookmark because I wouldn't be able to put it down. She was right. I can't wait until Lori Davis' next book.
