Persuading Lucy by Tammy Mannersly 4 Stars This is my second book by this author and I really enjoyed it, it had a smooth flow and a great storyline. I loved Cal (aka;bome lol) and Lucy and found myself cheering them on throughout the entire book. Although I love these types of second chance stories I do wish Lucy had been a bit stronger, and that part of the story would have had her standing by her convictions a bit more and making things a bit harder on Cal, but I was glad she stayed firm emotionally. I also loved Mia, Steph, and Maddie, the friendship bond that they shared with Lucy was awesome, the kind of friends we all need. Maddies part was a bit stronger as she had been friends with Lucy since school and was Cals only link to Lucy for fourteen years and she stayed true to both of them. The interference by the coworker was a nice addition and that too I wish had been a little bit more involved. In saying all of that I truly enjoyed this book, it flowed nicely and I finished it in two sittings. I think my favorite part was the empty wall in the lobby, the result of that blew me away and I could almost see it as it was written. I am looking forward to seeing what else this author has available. Great story and I would highly recommend it.

Persuading Lucy by Tammy Mannersly was a fantastic read about second chances and the power of opening up to the one person who you least expected. The characters Cal and Lucy definitely kept you wanting to read more, the love and pain that each of them have been through was something I hadn't read in a long time. When Lucy left all those years ago for college, Cal was devastated that she cut him off completely, leaving only their one friend as his last lifeline to her. But as time goes on, and she continues to keep away from him Cal eventually begins to move forward in his life. Running into Lucy again, 14 years later, and it never occurred to him just how fast his feelings would return for her. Lucy has worked hard since she left Cal and her small town to make a life for herself, but there was always just a glimmer of the hurt girl that walked away from him all those years ago. When she takes his company on as a new client at her marketing firm, all of those feelings come rushing out, threatening the balance that she has fought to maintain in her world. But when feelings collide between her and Cal, they may just find that they need each other more than they can be without each other. This story is a big emotional roller coaster that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. I have read several of Mannersly's books in the past, and have loved her writing style and how real she makes her characters. Each character in this book was well thought out, and they all moved in a space that felt like home to them, allowing the words to flow easily. If you are looking for a great book that is guaranteed to hook you from the beginning this is definitely one you need to get on your reader now!

Persuading Lucy by Tammy Mannersly is a New Adult romance story. I have read other books from this author which I enjoyed but this has become my favorite of hers. This story is about second chances. It took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of various emotions. I enjoy this author's writing style. It is easy flowing, engaging and pulled me in right from the beginning. The characters are both connectable and lovable. This is a story about a man who seems to have it all on the outside. But what he is missing is Lucy. They had been friends growing up then fourteen years ago she cut all communication off with him because he hurt her. Lucy is an executive at a marketing company and has managed to stay away from her ex-friend. What will happen when her next big client is the one man who hurt her? Will she learn to trust him? Will she trust herself around him? She is determined to stay away from him so that he can't hurt her again but will she be able too? Fate has a way of bring two people together but what will fate have in store for them? I enjoyed both of these characters. They both have attraction to each other but Lucy is fighting it all the way. I loved her determination, I think it made her a stronger character. Cal just wanted to fix things with her and is determined to be with her. I found myself hoping that they would have a happy ending because they really do have such chemistry together. I also enjoyed the secondary characters. They brought humor and support for Lucy. I loved seeing the protectiveness over their friend. I highly recommend this book. Find out what fate has in store for these two characters and if they are given a second chance at love.
