About the Author

Sonia E Russell, LPN and Candice Ekberg, B.S. ESS, NSCA-CPT, EMT-I, have taken the guess work out of stabilizing by combining their years of hCG diet coaching, knowledge in nutrition, fitness training, and medical background. They have developed a more structured and comprehensive Phase 3 plan that will help ensure stabilization, prevent the frustration of chronic correction days, avoid unnecessary additional rounds and the possibility of gaining any weight back. The improved Phase 3 plan was developed in 2007 by Sonia E Russell, LPN and her team of medical professionals. The plan was tested on patients over a 3 year period in a clinical setting.

Sonia has been a licensed nurse for 14 years and was trained at UCLA Medical Center in California. She has authored several books on the hCG diet and has coached thousands of patients, hands-on in a clinical setting. Sonia and her medical team performed internal patient clinical trials and food testing studies utilizing her 800 calorie protocol. She is the author of the book HCG Diet 800 Calorie Protocol developed specifically for the HCG dieter. She also co-authored The Best Diet You Have Never Heard Of: Physician Updated 800 Calorie hCG Diet Removes Health Concerns, developed for the prescribing physician. The 800 calorie protocol is safer, more tolerable with the added calories obtained from protein sources and healthier by adding breakfast and daily vitamins.The 800 protocol has recently gained an increase in popularity, as dieters report the plan delivers the same, if not better, weight loss results when compared to previous rounds on the 500 VLCD.

Candice Ekberg, B.S. ESS, NSCA-CPT, EMT-I, is a personal fitness trainer for 7 years and professional hCG diet coach. She has a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Utah. After a long battle of being overweight, in 2009, she began her weight loss journey with the use of hCG and lost 65 pounds, and has kept it off. In February 2011, she was invited to share her experience on the Rachel Ray Show (March 10, 2011). Since the show, she has coached thousands of dieters on Phase 2 of the 500 and 800 calorie protocol, but has turned her focus on Phase 3 and 4 of the diet. Candice believes that Phase 3 and 4 are the most important phases of the protocol and are critical in achieving long lasting weight loss.
