I resently purchased this guide and completed all the problem work in 4 days. The working examples are clear and very informative in how the information is related and applied. Excellent base of knowledge for field work (pipelining) for non-welder. I do think that a basic familiarity with the math functions used would be helpful, but would not hinder your ability to pick-up and understand the material.
