From his boyhood days, Ronald W. Taylor, was interested in mission adventure in the Pacific Islands. His heroes were missionaries. Educated in church schools and the Australasian Missionary College, he decided to prepare for mission service as a nurse. He took the nurses' training course at the Sydney Sanitarium and Hospital, and while there, met a nurse who became his wife.
