The clothes that appear each evening in Alice Hightower's closet take her to fantastic places in time, where intriguing men fill her nights with sensual adventure. She fills her challenging days as CEO of a medical device company that has recently suffered industrial espionage resulting in devastating losses. The man who says he loves her disappears and she loses her CEO position. Alice has to deal with the mess she's made of her personal life when she chose real men over her fantasies. How's a girl to choose her Vice President of Sales over an African King or a 12th century Prince, fresh from battle. Could her favorite project engineer be any match for an astronaut aboard the International Space Station or a lusty kilt wearing whiskey maker? She discovers her brilliant head researcher is caught up in dangerous international crime. Rather than swim in a pool of her own tears like Lewis Carroll's Alice, she must recover from life threatening injuries and heartbreak while developing new projects to restore her company's reputation and her position to CEO.

As a little girl, Melissa Rea feel asleep whispering stories to herself in the dark. In elementary school, she got in trouble for embellishing when the truth just seemed too boring. She learned to control her imagination as she grew up and her stories became daydreams. While she pursued a sensible career, Melissa filled her spare time with the wondrous worlds of Bram Stoker, Mary Shelly, Robert Heinlein, Philippa Gregory, Stephen King, Dean Coontz, Jackie Collins, Jennifer Weiner, Sarah Dunant and any and all authors who caught her fancy. Still, the stories in her head persisted, now colored by the delicious words of others. One day, she could no longer keep the stories in her head and she began to write novels. Conjuring Casanova was published in 2016 and was a Recommended Indie Book by Kirkus Review. Nights of Alice Book I, Rabbithole will be published in 2021 by Melange Publishing. Nights of Alice Book II, Pool of Tears will follow in 2022. She lives in St. Louis were she has a solo dental practice and lives with her husband and rescue cats.
