5 Star Review of Pretty As A Peach by Juliette Poe (Sex & Sweet Tea #4) This was a fun, quick read full of romance, laughter and love of family. This is Colt Mancinkus and Darby Culhane’s story and I loved it from start to finish. Ms. Poe describes Whynot in such great detail that I would love to visit. I love the idea of a small town where everyone knows you, although I am sure not everyone would appreciate that. Colt is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep his family’s legacy, Mainer Farms safe and intact whilst all Darby is looking for is a fresh start. What could be more simple that that? When Darby applies for a rural county grant she finds herself in conflict with the all to appealing Colt. After confronting Darby and explaining the importance of him being rewarded the grant, Darby decides to withdraw. However Colt is a Mancinkus and he feel that he should help Darby, particularly after meeting her daughter Linnie. When circumstances bring Colt and Darby together, sparks will fly and temptation will be strong. They soon form a strong friendship, but will that be all it is? Linnie wants her family back together but Darby is determined that her ex remain just that and with the help and support of the Mancinkus family, she and Linnie will find the happiness that they so richly deserve. Colt’s grandfather Pap is a great secondary character and I hope he actually gets his own story. In fact, all the characters made me smile and I cannot wait until we visit Whynot, North Carolina again as I am anxious to see who will be next in the series.

I just love this southern Whynot little town and all of it's characters. Sex and Sweet Tea Series #4 let's us follow Darby and Colt on their story of ups and downs. They apply for the same grant and there are competitive fireworks from both of them. When Darby backs out in order to let Colt have the grant and ultimately helps Colt through some really difficult times she breaks through Colt's thick armour and melts his heart. Love the whole village of Whynot and their small town community values.

Pretty as a Peach is book 4 in the Sex and Sweet Tea Series and sweet and swoony is what this book is all about, it’s a fun sweet, hot read. I love my visits to Whynot and I love catching up with the Mancinkus clan and their friends because that’s how this author makes me feel, like I am on holiday visiting old friends with every book i read in this series. This is Colt and Darby story, two people who try to fight their attraction to each other, they don’t want to be attracted to each other but sometimes your heart needs to win the fight. Colt is very much set in his ways, he knows and wants what is best for the town of Whynot and at first he is not sure Darby wants the same thing but as they get to know each other they realise maybe they aren’t so different after all. This is a feel good factor book, it’s a romance with plenty of humour and some real laugh out loud moments. Love this series and can’t wait for more from Whynot and the Mancinkus gang.

Really enjoyed Darby and Colt! Linnie was too adorable. It was great to revisit the characters from the previous books and get a heads up on the next I cannot wait to learn more about Deacon!

Pretty as a Peach by Juliette Poe is the fourth book in her Sex & Sweet Tea series. A romantic, light-hearted series about the small town of Whynot, North Carolina and it's residents. This story is focused on Colt Mancinkus and his new competitor in town, Darby McCulhane. Colt is relying on an agriculture grant to expand his family's farm business and the only solid competitor is a woman who doesn't even technically need the grant other than for the process of applying for her thesis. He is annoyed and determined to not like her on sight. That flies out the window the second he finally lays eyes on his "arch-nemesis". Now he finds himself enamored instead. Darby is coming to Whynot for a fresh start. Divorcing her cheating husband and working on her PHD in agronomy, she settles in at her ex brother-in-laws farm with her seven year old daughter and begins work on her peach orchard. She knows that the other person in the running for the agriculture grant is here in Whynot but never expects to feel the attraction for him when she first meets him. I absolutely adored reading the story, watching these two characters slowly embrace a friendship and romance, getting more glimpses of characters we have met before in previous books in the series, and even a glimpse at what is, hopefully, to come still. Told in dual POV, the emphasis is heavy on the romance and interaction and has very little actual steamy scenes but the story is just as fulfilling without it, more realistic in fact. Enjoy!

I enjoyed this sweet country romance that starts off with each on opposite teams competing for the funds to secure their families futures, but brings them step by step closer to common ground where all their dreams can come true. I hope we get a look into that future 5 or so years from where this story ends to see how their dreams developed.

This is Book 4 in the "Sex and Sweet Tea" Series by Juliette Poe and as the previous three I just loved it! The town, the main characters, the second characters, their stories, the concept of family and union, all makes a great and enjoyable read. This time is about Colt and Darby. I have read about both characters in the previous books but in this book is all about them and Darby's daughter. The relationship between them builds little by little and although there is physical attraction since the first moment they see each other, they don 't rush their feelings. This is a great read! Sweet and romantic!

I love being taken back to this charming southern town of Whynot. The way they all help each other and embrace newcomers and the sense of acceptance and family one can find there is wonderful, especially the Mancikus family and their friends. This is something Darby and her 7 year old daughter Linnie find out from the moment they arrive on the heels of her separation from her husband. She is there for a fresh start and when she runs into Colt Mancikus there is an instant palpable chemistry between them. They have so much in common and a wonderful connection because of it. But Darby’s wounds are fresh and Colt is just fine with the slow burn between them until the time is right to fuel the flames. They definitely have some interference to deal with but it’s worth it. Colt won my heart over completely when his protective wings come out to shield both Darby and Linnie. Taking them both on a “date “ may have just sealed the deal for me though. I just adore this sweet and charming love story so much! I sure hope Larkin and the sexy new biker are up next!

I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy Colt's story as much as the other Mancinus siblings in this series however I loved it a lot! Darby and Linnie were just precious and totally made the story. Loved the romance between them and the story fit them as well. Just as a side note - there is really no sex in this series despite the series title... it's definitely a sweet romance so if you are looking for some steam in your romance this one will come up short. Despite that the story holds it's own and I enjoyed it. There is so much other detail about the town, the family and all the secondary characters that you almost don't miss it... The one thing I would have loved to see was a bit more of an ending to Darby and Colt's story - it felt like it ended kind of abruptly and I wanted more!! It's really more of a HFN ending. Looking forward to Laiken's story for the final book in the series (I'm assuming anyway).

4 stars....but I wanted more! First off - you really can't go wrong with this series. It's the sweeter, Southern side of Sawyer Bennett who is incapable of writing a bad story, in my reading opinion. This is the story of the other Mancinkus son/brother and Darby who we virtually met in Book 3. Each story stands alone, but this one is tied with Laken and Jake who I absolutely loved!! And MG makes a cameo appearance which is beyond wonderful!!!!!!!!!! Each Mancinkus offspring is a wonderful story all their own. This one had more layers to it, but I felt that it took away from the romance of Colt and Darby. I definitely wanted more of that. While these stories allude to the steam rather than be explicit - I felt this one was missing some of the connection. However, it was still an awesome read and I enjoyed the deepness of this one despite my need for more Colt and Darby. And the hint of what's in store for Larkin - is going to be sooooo gooooood!! I voluntarily requested and reviewed an advance reader copy.

Disclaimer: ARC received in exchange for an honest review Pretty as a Peach is the standalone fourth installment in Juliette Poe’s Sex and Sweet Tea series of chaste, sassy southern romances. Each novel increases the population of the small-town, farming community, Whynot, NC, pairing a northern transplant with a homegrown Mancinkus sibling. In Poe’s latest novel, she pairs the youngest Mancinkus, Colt, with Darby McCulhane, the ex-sister-in-law of Jake (love interest of Laken Mancinkus, as introduced in the previous novel, Barking Up the Wrong Tree). Originally meant to be nemeses because they were vying for the same agricultural grant, Colt and Darby quickly (and a little too simply) dispatch with this issue, and it’s easily replaced by mutual attraction, chemistry, and common ground. Of course, their budding relationship is complicated by a duplicitous soon-to-be ex-husband and a malcontent seven-year-old. Colt easily finds his place in Darby’s world, forging a place in her daughter Linnie’s life, too. Their courtship is customarily southern, slow and sweet, and pretty stinking swoony, until they hit a Mitch McCulhane-sized speed bump. But even that doesn’t derail the relationship for long. I’m just not sure the happily-ever-after was fully earned. It felt like it, too, came too easily, and with little effort or work. I’m not into overly dramatic relationship complications, but I did feel like their somewhat complex issues were oversimplified and resolution achieved without the time and attention it was due. Again, the town of Whynot charms, and the cast of secondary characters continues to engage and enchant readers. In my inexpert opinion, the books in this series need 1000% more Morri D, who is a star. The last chapter was hysterical, for me the best part of the whole book, and serves to set up Larkin’s book, creating such anticipation. Again, as I’ve previously stated in regards to this series, I wish more of the “action” took place on the pages instead of being alluded to and left to the readers’ imaginations, but I’ve come to accept that this seems to be a stylistic choice that is trademark of the series as a whole. Overall, Pretty as a Peach is another delightfully cute, charming entry in Poe’s inaugural series, and I highly recommend it to all romance readers and book lovers looking for a sweet, easy, pleasant escape from reality.

4.5 Stars! Everything about this series is sweet as pie! I love the Mancinkus clan. Three of the Mancinkus siblings have gotten their happy endings and in Pretty As a Peach it is Colt's turn to find love. Darby's route to WhyNot is a little twisty. She is in the midst of a divorce from her jerky husband. She moves herself and her daughter to WhyNot to become operations manager of Farrington Farms. The move is two-fold. She can get away from her ex and finish her thesis at the same time. As part of her thesis, she has applied for a grant, the same grant that Colt has applied for in his efforts to save Mainer Farms, his family's farm. The two start off at odds, but neither can deny the spark of attraction. I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet and emotional without being over done. Colt and Darby at great. Colt is passionate and down to Earth, sweet and sexy. Darby is kind, loyal, sweet and a dedicated mother. The backdrop of WhyNot and it's residents is a character in and of itself. It doesn't take long for the residents of WhyNot to accept Darby into their fold and meddle (not in a bad way). Throw in Linne, Darby's daughter, who isn't featured heavily, but does play a part in the plot and you have a great love story.

This book is as sweet as the tea in the south. Where Poe's books are normally on the nice side, this book is over the top southern gentleman. I really enjoyed the break from what seems like hormone packed storylines. This would been the perfect book to read on a porch swing sipping tea on a beautiful spring day.

This is the fourth book in the Sex and Sweet Tea series, however, this can be read on a S/A basis although, I would recommend reading the series in order. As we have come to expect, Juliette Poe once again delivers a real feel good read. Pretty as a Peach is a sweet and charming story with snippets of humor throughout and it's one of those books that you find yourself reading with a cheesy smile. With solid, likeable characters, this was an enjoyable read. I just love the small town of Whynot and all the quirky and vibrant characters that make up this series. I'm really looking forward to Lark's book next. I was provided with a copy of this book from the Publisher; there was no inducement or obligation and I opted to leave a review.

This latest dip into Whynot, North Carolina focuses on the young Colt Mancinkus, who has taken over the family Mainer Farm, making him the 8th generation! He’s applied for a grant in an attempt to change the farm’s focus to becoming a wine producer. He’s done his research, and double checked his stats, and is more than sure this will work in the long term. But all of a sudden, he’s more concerned about his rival for the grant application. Darby Culhane has made a decision to leave her marriage, along with her seven year old daughter, Linnie. She has known for a long time that her husband, Mitch, was controlling and completely unsupportive of her further studies, but a revelation gives her the courage to make that final break. What leads her to Whynot is an offer of a job from her ex brother-in-law, Jake. As Operations manager for his Farrington Farms, she will be supervising the growing of a mighty peach farm, which is supported by her thesis and includes the application of a grant..the same grant as Colt. It’s a delight to watch these two gravitate towards each other, given their natural opposition to start with. We are entertained not only by the wealth of supporting characters that inhabit Whynot, and “why not” indeed, as Juliette sprinkles what she does best, creating a refreshing family that you want to belong to. This is entertaining, sweet, easy reading at its best, and I’m hanging on tenterhooks for Larkin and Locke’s turn. Complimentary copy received from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Colt is laid back ready to help and do anything for anyone .. BUT .. when a new neighbor moves into town and moves in on his grant for his farm .. THE GLOVES COME OFF . Until he meets Darby face to face and realizes maybe there is something there .. friendship .. love and even a 7 year old daughter Linnie that will steal your heart ! When Darby realizes that Whynot can and maybe her permanent new home she takes in everything around her and a lot of it has to do with Colt .. his friendship, the way he takes care of Linnie's feelings and gets her to break out of her hardness being in a new city. Can she give up her quest for her grant for her thesis for Colt ?? Can she break away from her unhappy marriage or will she go back for Linnie's sack or will she get to do something for her self just this once and stay in Whynot ?? There is adventure.. family .. tragedy and LOVE all wrapped up in this one installment and it is FANTASTIC !!

Okay, I am shamed to admit that the Southern United States were never at the top of my bucket list of places to visit…I dream more of places like Bali and Peru…but I’m just so in love with WhyNot, North Carolina, I’m thinking I need to go exploring… Pretty As A Peach ((The Sex and Sweet Tea Series, Book 4), by Juliette Poe, is another absolutely feel-good hit! It’s as sweet as I imagine sweet tea to be- except maybe with a little kick. (Can you add a shot of rum or whiskey to sweet tea? Or would that be a bad thing???) In Pretty As A Peach Juliette Poe, the sweet alter-ego of best selling author Sawyer Bennett, continues telling us about the amazing Mariner/Mancinkus family. This time focusing on Colt who is determined to keep his family’s farm running. While struggling to do this, he runs into new-to-WhyNot, Darby Culhane. Darby is working through a divorce and is determined to start a new peach farm. The story of how these two get together is engaging as both the hero and heroine are so delightful! As with all these stories in this series, Poe draws a beautiful picture of the South including quirky characters, wonderful family dynamic and a town that I would definitely put at the top of my bucket list- if it was real. I love how she brings back great characters from the town so by this book 4, I feel like I know them so well and I was so happy to see them again! Pretty As A Peach is a romance that left me with a smile on my face and one I can’t wait to encourage my friends, sisters, mom, and even my 17-year old niece to read- because it will appeal to all ages. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this novel. I am voluntarily and freely providing an honest review.

Whynot, NC, and Darby and Colt…. SIGH!!! What can I say. Pretty as a Peach is the fourth book in Juliette Poe’s The Sex & Sweet Tea Series. I have been a fan of this series by Ms. Poe (aka, Sawyer Bennett) since the very first book. They are just as phenomenally written just sweeter. The characters are just as loving just a little more laid back, in that southern slow and eaaaasy way. I am not going to rehash the description of this wonderful book. I will say I loved the way Darby and Colt came together first as enemies (at least on Colts end), then to friends the more Colt becomes more familiar with Darby, and finally to love interests. However, Colt is a true southern gentleman, and is taking this relationship to the next level in the true southern way, SLOW and EAAASY, which is starting do drive Darby crazy. Then, Darby’s soon to be ex catches wind of what is developing and then…….. STOP!!! NOOOOO spoilers. Let me say this, what happens next makes me want to move to Whynot too!! Ms. Poe, has proven to me, yet again, SHE CAN WRITE SOME SERIOUS ROMANCE!! I was gifted with a copy of this wonderful book for my reading enjoyment for which I am eternally grateful. Thank you for reading my review. This wonderful book released on March 15th and is available at all outlets.

I just adore this series. The Mancinkus' family is such a great bunch and this book is Colt's story. Colt has wanted to maintain the family's Mainer Farms business since he was a little boy. As the farming life has gotten harder and harder, Colt has been looking for ways to grow the family business. His latest idea, a vineyard, can only happen if he receives the grant that the county is offering. Imagine his surprise when he finds out the new girl in town, Darby Culhane, is vying for the same grant. Seems she has some peaches that she wants to grow, for her PhD she is working on. Colt is gearing up for a confrontation with Darby until he sees her and then he is smitten. Even though Darby has just left her husband and has a daughter, Colt is drawn to her. Their friendship quickly turns into something more. I just adored the way Colt courted her. Such the perfect southern gentleman! It was also so fun how their dating life quickly became the town's gossip! Gotta love a small town! Darby and Colt's romance was such a sweet journey and you just couldn't help but root for these two. I loved both of the main characters, as well as Darby's daughter, Linnie. Overall, another great read from Juliette Poe.

3.75 stars--clean, sweet romance 3.75 stars--PRETTY AS A PEACH is the fourth instalment in Juliette Poe’s (aka Sawyer Bennett) contemporary, adult SEX AND SWEET TEA romance series. This is farmer Colt Mancinkus, and Darby McCulhane’s story line. PRETTY AS A PEACH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Told from dual first person perspectives (Darby and Colt) PRETTY AS A PEACH follows the building relationship between Whynot farmer Colt Mancinkus, and newcomer Darby McCulhane. Working on her PhD in agronomy, Darby McCulhane, and her seven year old daughter head to Whynot, North Carolina to take over Farrington Farms, a farming operation her former brother-in -law Jake has offered in return for a brand new start, but securing one of the rare farming grants from the Department of Agriculture comes with competition. Enter life-long resident and family farmer Colt Mancinkus, who has plans to open a winery with his share of the government grant. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Colt and Darby, and the potential fall-out when Darby’s soon to be ex-husband comes into town. Colt’s attraction to Darby is immediate but tempered by the knowledge that the newcomer in town is his only competition for the government grant. Hoping to save the family farm Colt is desperate to push forward with his plans to open up a winery on the family lands. Darby McCulhane needed to escape her emotionally abusive husband when her ex-brother in law Jake offered her the position of Operations Manager of Farrington Farms in Whynot, North Carolina-a position she hopes to use towards her PhD. The relationship between Darby and Colt is one of immediate attraction but Darby is a single mother of an angry seven year old girl who has a difficult time adjusting to her new home. Never one to give up, Colt takes Darby’s daughter Linnie under his wing, in an effort to begin a relationship with our story line heroine. Most of the previous story line couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles including Laken and Jake ;Laken’s twin sister Larkin; Lowe and Melinda; Trixie and the ever absent Ryland Powers, as well as grandfather Pap Mancinkus; Colt’s parents Catherine and Gerry Mancinkus; Darby’s daughter Linnie, and her ex-husband Mitch; and the ever present townies including Floyd and his ever present rifle, and Melinda’s BFF Morri D. We are quickly introduced to Deacon Locke who may or may not have a passing interest in Larkin Mancinkus. PRETTY AS A PEACH is a clean romance with no $ex, limited kissing, and no physical contact. The premise is sweet and charming; the characters are sassy and smart. PRETTY AS A PEACH is a playful and tender love story by Juliette Poe.

I am so loving this series and this book is a fantastic addition. The little town of Whynot, NC has such an eclectic mix of quirky characters that you can't help but have a good time reading about them. In this story we meet Darby Culhane. She's a newbie to Whynot. She desperately needs a fresh start and Whynot seems like the perfect place. Working on a farm and growing peaches is exactly the sort of research she needs to finish her thesis. What she hadn't planned on was one amazingly hot but completely irate farmer that needs the same grant money she does. Colt Mancinkus is working to save his family's farm and he's counting on that grant money. Will these two find a way to work together and get what they both need and maybe, just maybe, a whole lot more? Nice sweet read that I think everyone will enjoy. I highly recommend it.

I am loving this series and with each book we get to know more of this eclectic family and this time we get to know Cole better. He has always known he was going to be a farmer and take over the family farm and even though it has been failing for years he has a plan to bring it back. Standing in his way is the newcomer to town, Darby. She has applied for the same grant Cole did and this causes Cole to form an immediate dislike for Darby...that is until he actually meets her. To say there all the bells and whistles go off, well, the chemistry is undeniable and what happens is Cole finds out he cannot hold onto that spite. Watching these two try to take things slow just made my heart sing but the best part was watching Cole interact with Linnie. In true Whynot fashion, the gossip machine works overtime and the Mancinkus family are all together for Sunday family dinner. This one could be read as a standalone but really WHY do that to yourself when this series is so good! I highly recommend this one and all of the other 3 too. **Received this ARC for review**

Darby is starting over with her daughter. Escaping a marriage that felt more like a prison. Now she wants to make it on her own. Colt is just trying to make his idea of a winery a reality. Their relationship is progressing slowly. Since she is only legally separated and not divorced from her husband Colt doesn't want to confuse Darby's daughter. Although he takes a liking to Linnie. He takes her horseback riding, fishing, and does things with her her own father never did. Her father literally wanted nothing to do with her. Only used her as a pawn to get Darby back. Darby and eventually Linnie have fallen in love with Whynot. Their people and community accepted them as though they were family. Colt also has fallen for her. Juliette Poe did such an amazing job with their story. Nothing was rushed. Colt was understanding of her situation and understood Linnie was part of Darby. He treated both with respect and kindness. A truly enjoyable story

Book 4 in the Sex and Sweet Tea series from Juliette Poe (alter ego to Sawyer Bennett), brings us Colt Mancinkus’ and Darby McCulhane’s Story. Both Colt and Darby have applied for the same grant to aid in their farm projects. Colt needs the new vineyard to keep his family farm afloat. Darby needs the grant to assist her in her new peach orchard and to further education. Having just come out of a controlling marriage, Darby is settling in well to rural farm life and is quick to make friends. Colt is determined he will not like the new ‘smarty pants’ city girl trying to claim his grant, of course once he gets to know her and her seven year old daughter Linnie, well, everything changes. A wonderful light, easy read. I just love Whynot and the Mancinkus’ are real gems. What a family. Where does Ms Poe get all these names? Priceless. As I’m reading this book with all the characters and their quirky mannerisms, the first thing that comes to mind is ‘The Dukes of Hazard’ with the easy going, light entertainment full of laugh out loud moments, drama and romance. Our hero, Colt, is so swoony, a real gentleman with a cheeky side. I loved him. Keep ‘em coming Ms Poe. I can’t get enough. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

***4 Stars*** It’s funny. As much as I was interested to find what would happen when Colt and Darby finally collided, I just wanted a reason to spend more time with Pap and the rest of the Mancinkus clan and hang out in Whynot with all the other eclectic characters that populate the small town and I got that in spades with this one AND got Morrie time *happy sigh* I loved Darby. I did. Her drive to not only achieve her own goals, but give her daughter, Linnie, more was something I found admirable. But what really got me was what a huge heart she had and how it showed through her actions. Colt. I honestly didn’t care for him all that much in the beginning, his issues did not endear him to me, regardless of his reasoning. So, it took me awhile to warm up to him once he got over himself, but in the end I liked the man he was when he wasn’t acting like a child. Their romance was a definite slow burn for good reason, but it gave them time to really get to know each other and become friends, as well as have Linnie get sorted on all fronts, and when it became more it was perfect. This was another fun and quick read. Pap and Morrie are my absolute favorites, but catching up with the rest of the Mancinkus clan and their significant others was a lot of fun and I loved Linnie, even when she was making it extremely difficult to find her loveable, and then there is Larkin...after that ending, I cannot wait to see how her own HEA plays out! ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~
