Prisoner of Love by Beverly Jenkins

“Beverly Jenkins is renowned for her historical romances.” –Romantic Times

“Beverly Jenkins has reached romance superstardom!” –Detroit Free Press

Kansas, 1884
Abandoned by her husband, Elizabeth Franklin is struggling to keep up with the chores on her 60-acre farm. Desperate to stay in the only home she ever loved, the resourceful Elizabeth agrees to marry a prisoner, Jordan Yancey – an arrangement that will set him free while affording her the farm help that she so urgently needs. But what Elizabeth never expects is that this former prisoner will arouse the kind of passion and desire she’s only heard about and capture her instead...

Jordan Yancey would do anything to get out of prison, and the arrangement with the pretty, but prim Elizabeth seems like a good bet – his freedom for a little farm work, and a wife on paper. He never imagines that his pretend bride will become the most magnificent woman he’s ever met…and that his sensuous little 'jailer' will be the one to free his heart...

A sensual, steamy and deeply romantic story, Prisoner of Love by Blackboard bestselling author, Beverly Jenkins, is a historical romance to treasure!

The story of Elizabeth and Jordan (E & J) is such a wonderful "feel good" storyline. The love between the two characters ...such joy. The storyline is that of Jordan, a prisoner have two choices: Be hanged (Jordan was framec but no way of proving his innocence) or marry Elizabeth who needs a "new husband to help save her farm. ( Elizabeth received a "Dear Jane" letter from her husband, William while he was Back East. What is a man to do, Of course, Jordan chose to live, so E&J got married. Their relationship is a warm and fuzzy, feel good for the reader. In reading about their marriage, their life and how they deal with that Nasty William, grrr, along with two other people on the story who do their best to cause problems for E&J, made me so proud of them; especially Elizabeth with her spunky self. The story is about a Black couple living in the historical westm in a Black town. This was an outstanding story. A true HEA! Excellent and I just loved Jordan. Please note, this not a g-rated historical romance. But it is tastefully done, as E&J are married. But it is not recommended for under 18 years old. This is one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend. I dont know the author, nor was this book free. I am searching for more of the types of books. To the author great job....**** vrnb ****

I enjoyed this book.  I loved the spirit of the woman, and the strength of the man.  It is shorter than a novel, but the perfect length for a night of reading with a hot cup of tea.
