Typical Susan Stoker style, loved the new characters, and glimpses of some old characters from other series. Can't get enough of her storylines and the great characters that you want in your circle of friends. Highly recommend. Mjw

I sincerely love Susan Stoker's books, but this one has less orginailty than I expect from her and more than it's usual share of flat out unbelevable. So 4 stars is genuious but I still enjoyed it for the most part.

Susan Stoker - Protecting Dakota - (Seals of Protection Series - Book 10 & Sleeper Seals Book 1) The Sleeper SEALs, are former U.S. Navy SEALs recruited by a new CIA counter-terror division to handle solo dark ops missions to combat terrorism on U.S. soil and they must be Ghosts on their ops. Retired Navy Commander Greg Lambert hands picks each retired Seal for the mission. The first book in the Sleeper Seals, multi-authors, Series brings everything the series about from words to action. Slade “Cutter” Cutsinger is forty-seven (47) YO and who was medically retired. Slade was first up for the Sleeper Seal’s first OPS. The good news to those of us who have read Ms. Stoker’s Seals of Protection will be happy to know that Slade is friends with our beloved Seal Team, Wolf and the whole team. Thank you, Ms. Stoker, we get to visit with all of them for a while. After his retirement, Slade worked at the Naval Base under Patrick Hurt who is also Wolf’s commander. In fact, when ‘our’ Seals are on an op, Slade checks on their women while they are in theater. Cutter is assigned to find Dakota James, protect her and get her back to the base. The leader of Ansar al-Shari’a, Aziz Fourati, a rich American who is now radicalized has decided that he wants Dakota James as his ‘first’ wife and to bare his first heir. First, Cutter must find her because Dakota is on the run from Aziz. After Cutter brings Dakota back to San Diego, he decides to keep her at “Wolf and Caroline’s house for protection. However, Aziz is closer than anyone knows and when he kidnaps Dakota and Caroline (Wolf’s wife), the whole team is determined to find them before it is too late. Don’t miss the first book in this multi-author series!!!

Another great series by Susan Stoker. The two main characters were a welcome change because of their age. The story was also a bit out of the box. Really good!

4 Stars Protecting Dakota is the last book in Stoker's "SEAL of Protection" series and the first in the multi-author "Sleeper SEALS" series. So expect to see some favorite character cameo/crossovers in this one. Slade is an ex-retired SEAL and part of a new Sleeper SEAL team being used to eliminate terrorists on US soil. After a recent US attack, Slade's first mission is to locate and protect Dakota from a terrorist threat. First, I am all over the use of "mature" love-interests. Slade and Dakota are both in their 40's and are proof positive that age isn't but a number. Both, Slade and Dakota were terrific characters and well-written. My only gripe was the ultra-fast insta-love. Sometimes I'm not bothered by it, but in this case, it didn't sit well and I found myself rolling my eyes a few times. Aside from that, I thought they were a perfectly suited couple with great potential. As for the suspense, I loved it! Great mystery. Great conflict. Great suspense. And kick-butt rescue! (This is my voluntary and unbiased review of an advanced copy of Protecting Dakota)

Soul mates...but can they live long enough? Boom! An explosive, fast paced, steamy book to introduce the Sleeper SEALs series and bring the SEAL of Protection series to a close....bringing us full circle with Wolf and Caroline as a fantastic supporting cast. We have met Cutter before, a fearless, protective, pure Alpha. That is fearless until Dakota is in danger, sending not only his heart but his soul into freefall - the strangest feeling when he has never even met her, but one picture is all it took for him to know she was his other half and he wouldn't breathe again until she was safely in his arms. Dakota is bone tired, completely mentally and physically exhausted, constantly living in fear of being found and what 'He' will then do to her. But the second Cutter walks into the bar she feels peace and safety wash over her, she may not recognise him, has never met him, but her soul knows him instantly. Once again Susan sucks you in, sends you on an emotional roller coaster full of highs, lows, twists and turns that as you screech to a halt at the end you are left dazed, drained and completely gutted that the series has ended.......before relief hits as you realise whilst it is the end of one chapter, a new one is beginning and what a cracking one it promises to be!

So this is the last story in the Protection series and first with the Sleeper Seals. We are introduced to Dakota who is on the run from a home grown terrorist who has marked her for his . Slade , who is retired Seal and works on the Navy base with Wolf and his team. is recruited for a black ops mission to find this terrorist and Dakota. From the first page, the action begins and doesn't let up until The End as Slade, New Seal team , and the crew from the Protection series help to find and bring Dakota to safety. Couldn't put this one down and looking forward to more in the Sleeper Seals series and authors.

Retired SEAL Slade "Cutter" Cutsinger takes on a special op to find a terrorist that exploded a bomb at the Airport killing a lot of people. Dakota, a school Principal, is the only survivor from the bombing and she can Id the terrorist. The terrorist wants Dakota back and it’s up to Cutter and the Seals to help him protect her. Cutter and Dakota are amazing together, proving it’s never too late to find your soulmate. I’m sad that this is the end of the Seal of Protection series but I’m looking forward to the new Seal series (you get to meet the new team in this book). Check out this first book in the Sleeper Seal Series, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Exciting!! One of the many reasons I enjoyed this story was, the hero & heroine are in their mid to late 40's. It was great reading about a HOT, retired Navy SEAL and a woman who is mature, vibrant and in need of protection. This story was exciting, steamy and full of suspense. My favorite kind of romance! Can't wait to read more of the Sleeper SEAL's series!!

Dakota is running scared but so far has been able to hide from the terrorist after her. Cutter has been chosen to find her, get the man's description and stop his plans of destruction. Should be easy for a retired SEAL, right? It proves more difficult than originally thought. Somehow, Aziz seems to know where Dakota is. Cutter must uses all of his SEAL training and the help of some friends to keep Dakota safe. This is great suspense that keeps you guessing and pulling for the good guys. And of course, there's romance as well. I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

"Protecting Dakota" by Susan Stoker. Ms. Stoker has written a tale that encompasses love and passion as well as danger and intense emotional stress. Dakota, a school principal, has drawn the unwanted attention of a terrorist that wants her for his own. Cutter is a retired SEAL that is recruited for a top secret mission which involves protecting Dakota. I really liked that our couple are older - both in their forties. That is not something you see every day. Although, there were times Dakota she came across a bit young to me but not so that it detracted from the story. Ms. Stoker is known for stories that have some crazy dangerous situations and this one does too. I was hoping to see a bit more earlier on in the story but once it happened, wow! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see who would survive. If you enjoy sexy SEALs, strong heroines and crazy danger, check out "Protecting Dakota". (received ARC for honest review)

In Susan Stoker's latest SEAL of Protection book, Protecting Dakota we get to read about all of Wolf's SEAL Team as well as meeting retired SEAL Slade "Cutter" Cutsinger who seeks their aid to help him protect Dakota James. Dakota survived a terrorist attack at the LA airport but became the obsession of the leader of the terrorist group. This man. Aziz Fourati wants to take Dakota and force her into marriage. Slade is given the job as part of a "sleeper" Seal group of protecting Dakota and taking out Aziz to prevent more terrorist attacks. This book is full of action and suspense. One can always expect this in a Susan Stoker story. She always comes through with a tough, dedicated hero and a strong, resourceful and courageous heroine. This combination along with a tight, concise storyline leads to an excellent story. This book is a thrilling read and I think all readers will agree with me on that.

This is another great book by Susan. It has plenty of action, suspense, danger, romance, chemistry and spark. The characters are well developed and have depth .I liked that they were older and not just the normal young adult hero and heroine. I loved having all my former friends from prior books come into the story. The way this author writes makes you feel like you are part of the group and are involved in the action. The story is written with todays real life issues giving it intrigue and keeping your interest. I enjoyed reading this book and didn't want it to end, even though I wanted everything to be solved. Great book.
