A bad boy with something to prove.
A woman with a mission.
The race of their lives.
The love of a lifetime.

I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.

He's the fastest, fiercest driver around.

Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep…
but his smile sends me to my knees.

The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He's secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss....

This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I'm supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn't get into trouble. But it's an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation...or your curse.

He says he wants me. He says I'm the One. But he also thinks he'll break my heart, one piece at a time until it's gone.

Racer is book 7 in the Real Series but it really can be read as a standalone because this is Racer's story who happens to be Remy and Brooke's son and what a story it is, set in the world of F1 motor racing it's exciting, romantic, hot and at times sad. Racer like his father needs a strong woman to win his heart and that's where Lana comes in. Lana is not only strong she believes in fighting for her family, her F1 team and now the love of her life Racer. This book consumed me, I couldn't put it down because I needed to know if Lana was strong enough to help Racer through the highs and lows that consume his life. Once again Katy Evans has given a book that is beautifully written, it covers living with someone who is manic depressive but please don't think you are reading Remy's story again because Racer couldn't be more different. I was blown away by this book and I'm sure you will be too, so on that note all I'm going to say is you need to "one click this book" because it's a brilliant read.

This is a must read! In the beginning she threw a curve ball but I couldn’t help but smile. This is a story about love, loving who you are, being determined and most importantly anything is possible. Thank you for this Katy

Racer Tate, being the son of Remy Tate had me intrigued, so when I started reading it I was also looking forward to find more about that beloved character. But let me tell you that Racer Tate went over and beyond of what I was expecting it to be. I loved him! Lana Heyworth being the PR for a F1 racing team that has been struggling collided with the pad of Racer Tate, the rebellious best underground car racing driver there is. The problem is if can she get him to race an F1 for her team and if Racer can drive as good on an F1 car. Their love story is built so the author gives us a realistic time for their relationship to develop. Which is something Katy Evans is a master at. I simply enjoyed every page and second (as I also got the audiobook) of it. Can't wait for the next book she writes.

When I heard there was going to be a book about Racer Tate I was super excited! I didn't know what to expect from Racer, but he's just like his dad. He's got the same all or nothing attitude and loves fiercely. He falls fast and he falls hard. And also like Remy, it was interesting being in his head. They rarely hold back and often do and say what they want. They're tough guys, but can also be complete softies, which is cute to see. I like that Racer does what he wants and races instead of fights. I liked that whole aspect of the book, it was really interesting especially for a NASCAR fan. He can definitely be a bit intense and hard to handle, but he's still very likeable. I wish there would have been even more Racer perspective chapters. Lana is a sweet girl who doesn't know what she's in for when she meets Racer. He's not what she's used to and definitely keeps her on her toes. She's good for him and he's good for her. They work well together. It's a very fast paced book with a lot happening in a short span of time. There were a few times where I felt things could have been explained a little better, and sooner, in terms of the past. There were also a few times towards the beginning that didn't flow as smoothly between the chapters. There were also times that I thought the wording sounded a bit off to me, but other than those couple of things I enjoyed Racer. It fits with the rest of the Real series. I enjoyed the few drop ins from those characters.

I absolutely love this series. Remy & Brooke will always hold a special place in my heart. It is because of that that I was skeptical about reading their son’s book. I was pleasantly surprised when it was clear it wasn’t going to mimic the original. Racer and Lana’s first meeting is an actual collision. They’re immediately attracted to each other but once she offers him a spot on her family’s F1 team she puts a halt to whatever is growing between them. But come on…he’s racer F*n Tate- who can resist that??!! I was able to appreciate the similarities between father and son. The music aspect is one because it’s just a Tate thing. Unlike the earlier books, while Racer did inherit bipolar disorder, it isn’t a huge part of the story. My suggestion is that if you have access to the audio version listen because it is amazeballs!

I love how Remy and Brookes story was drawn out of in a series of books, each more intense than the last. Racer's was a great read and did not disappoint. It ended too soon. Love Katy Evans books

Sep 29, 2017 · edit 5 stars plus Heart stolen!!!!! Racer Tate’s book!! Son of Remy, and what an incredible sizzling hot story this is. Street racer turned F1 driver with speed galore!!! Riveting indeed!!! Racer gives off a vibe as you read, seriously I was hooked on him just as Lana was! If you are a fan of the Real series, Racers book will be right up your alley. So much so you cannot help but love him so much more! I was so hooked on Racers story that I had trouble putting it down! There is also the underlying issue of Racers condition, which for Lana, may solidify a bond between them or does it push them further apart? My heart was beating so fast at certain moments and I have to say I would read it again in a heartbeat! This is without a doubt one of the best reads of this year!

I have many #bookboyfriends, but Remington Tate is my one and only #bookhusband. So you can imagine how eager I was to read Remy's son book! Racer was what I was expecting: cocky, handsome, possessive and panty-melting! He reminded me a LOT of his father and I was beyond happy the whole time! I cried with some revelations, I loved that Remy was present in the story in all his DILF glory, and I'm happy that Racer found his other half. I just wish the book had more details... I wish some parts didn't feel so rushed... I wish the ending was more epic. But despite all that, this is Racer and he is PERFECT and I loved it!

You see, I’m a big fan of the author and the last book I read about her set the score for me in the romance genre: Ladies’ Man. And oh boy what a ride. First, let me tell you, it took me a while to get into the book. Why? As I said before, Tahoe set the example in romance for me, and without meaning to I went into this book waiting to find him, which was kind of a mistake because this is Racer Tate we are talking about. But once I managed to get Tahoe out of my head (it was hard, he is just too perfect) the rest of the book ran out smoothly. Racer captivated me just as Remy did at his moment, and I couldn’t help but be more excited every time he and Brooke appeared, and Iris? Dear lord, I was so happy to see them all. What managed to get my attention was… well, were two things. First one: F1. Seriously. I have been fan of F1 for my whole life; I used to eat breakfast every weekend seeing the races next to my brother and father. I had my favorite team, favorite racer, favorite everything. And second, the fact that Racer was truly scared about being accepted, even when he had a father that had the same condition as him and even when his family showed him all their support. It felt real to me, that fear. I had seen Remy go through this struggle and to see Racer do the same was glorious. Lana was such a character I could relate on, because she is basically not living her own dream, she sacrifices everything for her family and that struck so close home. I could relate what she was going through, and I kind of get what her brothers were going through, too. I LOVED how Katy treated the meds part. In most books with MI, authors tend to dismiss the great help that are the meds with the “they make me feel like a zombie/dead”, and specifically in romance books they tend to add the “my love is the only med I need”. Here on the other hand, if it’s true that Racer starts the book believing that, he then recognizes how good his meds are for him and how good they make him feel. That’s HUGE. That is a destigmatization of the use of meds for MI. The only thing that didn’t work for me was the sibling relationships. Look, I’m a sucker for sibling relationships, when I saw Iris and Racer together I expected… different. I wished for more, and I know that is not Iris story and that she is a secondary character and all, but I seriously think that she should have had appeared more, that their relationship should have been more developed. The writing style was good as always, the good stuff you expect from Katy, and the book had the same pace as Ladies’ Man, which I very much liked. It didn’t feel rushed at all, and the plot was not overly dramatic, Katy kept it simple and real and that made the book much more enjoyable. Zero weird drama. E basta. I really recommend this to everyone who loves a good romance novel.

This is the kind of book that makes me fall in love with reading all over again! I would give it 6 stars if it were possible. Racer Tate is off the charts hot, sexy and one intense man. The authors writing pulls you in and makes you feel his intensity on and off the race track. I don't think I've ever read a race car romance. Racer was written with so much emotion, I don't know that another racing story will ever compare to this one for me. Racer's chemistry with Lana is fraught with obstacles that they both seem to skirt around magnificently. I felt the heat, lust, attraction, restraint, intense emotions and feelings they have for each other constantly while reading this story. After meeting Lana for the first time, Racer knows his feelings for her beyond a doubt. "This is the girl. The one I'm going to marry. The one whose life I'm going to completely ruin." There are some seriously passionate scenes in this book. Because Racer is such an strong and dominant character, everything was more vivid in color for me while reading this entire story and that included their very sexy times. That racing trailer scene rocked the wheels off that camper for me! But there were many other scenes that just made me squeeze my thighs together and fan myself. Seriously, whew hot! This book also brings another important topic to the forefront. Often mis-diagnosed or ignored, Bipolar disorder is a very serious condition for some and this story highlighted the illness well. Racer is literally racing for his life. This is what keeps him grounded and stable, for the most part. He needs the power, the speed, the intensity to keep his life balanced. But what I loved is how Lana handled the situation once finally discovered. Love and devotion between two people is what I see in this story, but the action that fills the books with the racing and the attraction is what kept me on edge the entire story. I felt the excitement of the crowd cheering or being on the headset talking Racer throughout the race. I felt the power of the win afterwards. All of these feelings are real to the reader while in the story. And his love for Lana was just as over the top. If you believe in soulmates, this was definitely an example. "Can you love someone so hard that every part of your being feels it? Yes, my heart whispers." We get a glimpse of a previous books character again that a think a lot of readers will be happy about. Now I wonder if there will be another book for Iris? Whatever you do, do NOT miss this exhilarating story. This is one of the authors best, in my opinion. *ARC provided for review

With the HW Racing Team needing a new and talented F1 driver desperately, Lana Heyworth decides to be the one scouting for one, while her brothers and her father fix the F1 car the previous driver wrecked. What she didn't expect was finding the perfect driver in Racer Tate, a wreckless and fierce illegal street racer. As soon as they meet, Lana and Racer feel a connection they never thought they would feel in their lives. Lana knows how it feels when you love someone and then you lose that person. Racer is afraid Lana will not accept everything about it and will break his heart and soul. Will they surrender to their fears? Or will they conquer them? I LOVED Racer! This electrifying story hooked me from the first page and I couldn't stop reading. It's a sweet and sexy story, with the perfect combination of drama, laughter, steam, and action. I loved every second of Racer and Lana's story, especially how they met and the banter between them. The chemistry between them is off the charts! Lana Heyworth is a sweet, kind, selfless, funny, and smart twenty-two year old girl. Her father owns the HW Racing Team and she travels the world with him and her brothers for the competitions. She takes care of them and everything they need, trying to make the road their home. She once loved and lost, so now she's afraid of falling for Racer. I loved how she stood by his side, especially during his bad moments. Twenty-two year old Racer Tate uses illegal street racing as a way to keep his demons at bay. Like is father, he's an intense and confident alpha, protective, possessive, and fierce. But he's also very patient and sweet, showing his most vulnerable side when he's afraid to tell Lana the truth and how he feels that he disappointed his father. I really loved how he was never afraid of showing and telling Lana how he felt and how patient he was with her. I love the Real series and Katy Evans did not disappoint with Racer! Lana and Racer's story is a great addition to this wonderful series and will captivate the reader from the beginning. The story is beautifully written and the characters are easily relatable and lovable. I loved every page of Racer and I can't wait to read more from Katy Evans. I really hope we'll read more about the Heyworth brothers and Iris!

I call dibs on Racer Tate! I licked him, I get to keep him, right?!? So Remy has always been on the top of my book-boyfriend list, but I think he was just outdone by his son. Racer is determined, with the sexiest smirk that I can just see in my mind. While his father may have taken the world of fighting by storm, Racer completely dominates street racing. Then he meets Lana, a sassy girl in a family of boys, whose family owns a formula 1 team, and is looking for their redemption with a top driver. From the first glance, these two have sparks flying. I loved how it was both an insta-attraction, yet the relationship itself was a slow burn. It made the story that much sweeter. Will obstacles in their way keep them apart, or bring them closer together? Dive right in and find out in this delectable story. Ms. Evans writing was perfection personified, the characters felt like they were going to come out and talk with me. I absolutely loved this book!

Racer is one wild ride and an incredibly hot adrenaline rush. Holy cow! Never has a phrase "Like father. Like son" fit a character so perfectly then Racer Tate. This speed demon exudes all the male, hot, alpha, rawness that we’ve come to love with his father, Remington Tate, but then he takes it to another level on and off the track. It's sooo hot! I love when a male characters is so captivated and completely gone over his woman. And that's Racer. In an instant, he just knows Lana is going to completely change his world and his mindset. His situation has kept him from getting close to anyone but the need to have her and keep her was so strong. It’s easy to see how Racer could fall for Lana. She is one of my favorite parts of this book. Mostly because I can relate to so much of what she is going through. She so selfless. She caters to her family's needs over her own. Her determination to achieve her father's dream was awe inspiring. I have to say, I really like these two as a couple. I love how they balance each other out. When they get together, they're fire. Katy Evans has written another winner with Racer. If you've enjoyed her sexy and thrlling stories before, you won't be disappointed with this book. I read Racer in one sitting and I was savoring every word of it. Can be read as a standalone.

Sigh. Racer has all the intensity and drive of his father Remy but his passion is fast cars. He has become the best illegal street racer as he fights to prove himself separate from his dad's success and expectations. Lana Heyworth is driven by her father's dream to have a race team. They are on their last legs, needing a miracle to find success while her father is battling cancer. She goes in search of a driver and stumbles upon Racer Tate. She takes the risk and brings him back to the team as their driver. I loved how Racer knew the first time he saw Lana that she is the one. This shows the same drive and passion that Remy has did truly pass down to the son. Lana isn't looking for a relationship, she is so focused on saving their families racing team. Racer is persistent. There is a fabulous slow burn to their relationship as Lana tries to resist and Racer continues with a full court press. There are a lot of ups and downs as they work to save the racing team and Racer fights to find his worth. Overall, this book grabbed me from their first encounter to the very end with this captivating and fun couple. Add in the interactions with the entire Real family gave me a book I didn't want to put down or end.
