Right along with the arrival of the railroad comes the need for compassion and understanding as the Chinese workmen are subjected to abusive hardships and even murder at the hands of the Yankee bosses. Then, as if that were not enough, they are additionally being cheated out of a good portion of their hard-earned pay.
When Chad and his best friend, Nate, are eyewitness to the abuse, Clint is thrust to the forefront and takes the lead in bringing the culprits to justice...frontier style.

Really enjoying the characters and story line...keeps your interest and you never know what will happen next. Needs some editing (scrapper vs scraper, loose vs lose consistently, plus some formatting issues that are somewhat irritating) but all-in-all I'd recommend this series highly!
I thought this one was a little on the boring side and that the story needed fleshing out a little more; it just lacked some of the luster of other books in the series. Thankfully for me, however, Rogers energetically ended the series extremely well with the next and last book of the series. Yes, please fix the errors the September 30, 2013 reviewer noted; the formatting errors were very annoying, as was scrapping continually being said in place of scraping.
