A New York Times Bestseller!
From Colleen Houck, New York Times bestselling author of The Tiger’s Curse, comes an epic Egyptian-inspired adventure about two star-crossed teens who must battle mythical forces and ancient curses on a journey with more twists and turns than the Nile itself!

When seventeen-year-old Lilliana Young enters the Metropolitan Museum of Art one morning during spring break, the last thing she expects to find is a live Egyptian prince with godlike powers, who has been reawakened after a thousand years of mummification.
And she really can’t imagine being chosen to aid him in an epic quest that will lead them across the globe.
But fate has taken hold of Lily, and she, along with her sun prince, Amon, must travel to the Valley of the Kings, raise his brothers, and stop an evil, shape-shifting god named Seth from taking over the world.

And don't miss new adventures with Lily in the rest of the Reawakened series: Recreated and Reunited!

The book Reawakened was a great read. The size of the book was perfect allowing me as a reader to instill myself into the book and picture it all happening in my head. When I first saw the book on the shelf I knew that it would revolve around Egyptian Mythology because of Horus’ Eye on the cover. I have been exposed to Egyptian Mythology with different books however, none of them compare to how the essence of this mythology was explained and journeyed through. The main genres of this book are fantasy fiction and adventure fiction. I feel the author, Colleen Houck, did a great job in showing the reader each aspect of each genre. From the genre of fantasy fiction, Houck dived into the world of Egyptian Mythology and how it impacted the main character’s, Lily, life. And also through this fantasy fiction genre, Houck develops relationships that impact Lily, and in a greater image the entire plot. From the genre of adventure fiction, the plot begins in the Big Apple with the main character, Lily, meeting the Egyptian Prince inside a museum. The way the author uses the idea of Egyptian mythology and body hosts to develop the bond between Lily and the Egyptian Prince, Amon. Together they embark on a journey to Thebes and around Egypt trying to find Amon’s fallen brothers. Eventually, Amon and Lily find Amon’s brothers and resurrect them to fight the evil entity. The journey ends with Amon sacrificing himself and sending Lily back to the moment she walked into the unopened Egyptian exhibit at the museum in New York City. Overall, Colleen Houck did a great job in exploring the vast mystery that is Egyptian Mythology. I 100% recommend this book for anyone 14 or older. The only reason I chose this age would be so that the reader can truly comprehend every aspect of the book.

I loved this book. It's a fantastical story rich in Egyptian mythology, with just the right amount of romance. Basically, the plot is about a girl named Lilliana who encounters an Egyptian prince from the past with godly powers, named Amon. She is dragged along on his quest to reawaken his brothers and prevent an evil god, Seth, from rising to power. Their growing romance sweetens the story, and there's even bits of humor here and there that made me laugh. I enjoyed watching Lilliana grow and change in her personality. Spending time with adventurous, charming Amon made her more daring and less withdrawn. The pressuring influence from her parents slowly dissolves as they journey on their quest. The mythology was also fun to read, though it was a bit confusing at parts, since I'd never read up on many Egyptian myths. But that's only a minor flaw, comparing it to the rest of the book. I'd recommend this book to people who like fantasy, Egyptian mythology, and maybe romance. But to be honest, I think that even those who don't usually read those genres would like this novel!

Reawakened is one of my favorite books of all time. Colleen Houck does an amazing job of developing characters and creating a captivating story. I started and finished the book the day I got it and reread it from time to time. Just like her other books it doesn't disappoint nor does it ever get tiring. I highly recommend this book especially if you enjoy adventure mixed with a refreshing love story!
