An incredible story. Never have I read a book about this horrible period in time that allows the reader to love the members of this family as deeply as I did and feel the pain of the main character as they are slowly stripped away from him, almost as though they were being stripped away from me. I don't know how Teddy could have witnessed everything he had at such a young age and still be filled with hope. The fact that he remained selfless and became a hero after his liberation is a true testament to his character. I found myself rooting for Teddy on each step of his journey and I never suspected the surprise at the end of the book which truly warmed my heart and will continue to for years to come. You question G*D as Teddy's life and his experiences spiral downward but by the books end have your faith renewed. I am a better person after reading this and Teddy has been added to my list of heroes. Bravo to his grandson for being able to sit with him and put words to paper as this is a story that should be read by everyone.

The story of Erik LeMoullec's grandfather starts with a question from Erik's fourteen year old daughter,"Why does Saba talk like that?" Here begins the journey of Erik's family. From living the life of a child to the nightmare of being a Jew during the Holocaust.   I fell in love with this family, cried for this family and wish them all God Speed .  This is no ordinary book about the Jews during this nightmare of a time.  Teddy's story is brought to life by his grandson and hopefully kept alive and remembered not only by his daughter Hayden but by all of us who have or will read this book. I will not only remember but will  pass this book along so everyone will know!  If you dont read anything else read REMEMBER YOUR NAME I received this book from goodreads in exchange for a review
