As soon as I finished the first book, I was ready to devour this one, especially since I was still reeling from the cliffhanger. Needless to say, there was much anticipation and eagerness on my part, and I think this might've ruined the book for me a little. Things started out great -I had really liked Forgetting August and the beginning of Remembering Everly was the continuation of the story I had thoroughly enjoyed. However, somewhere along the way, the book lost its grip on me. I can't really pinpoint where and/or how but I simply started to lose interest. The story seemed to be dragging and there just wasn't much excitement. I found myself reading pages and pages where nothing worthwhile was really happening. I feel like it just took too long for the story to unfold or at least, for anything meaningful to happen. As a result of this, it took me a long time to finish the book. I found myself skipping reading at night (which I hate), until I finally decided to read through the slump and finish it. The story was still a good story, and putting aside my above mentioned issues, I was satisfied with how all the loose ends were tied up. The characters were still the same likable characters from the first book and I was glad to see that everyone got what they deserved. Overall it was a good book and perhaps I just had high expectations. Other readers might not have trouble with the flow, so don't let that discourage you from picking up this book. *I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

If you read the last part of Forgetting August, you know we were left with a cliffhanger. This picks right up where we were left hanging. August remembers EVERYTHING. August is trying to uncover the spots from his past as he remembers who he was. Now he understands why Everly was afraid of him and his fear is becoming that man again. He knows something is off with Trent, but without the proof he is stuck in a hole that he cannot get out of. Without all his memories he has to try to figure out why Trent is so angry and why he is being threatened by him. August and Everly have an undying bond, it didn't matter if one of them couldn't remember their past. Their heart and soul knew that it belonged to the other, time couldn't change that. They had to go through heartache and trials to get back to one another. With the help of friends and councilors who let me just say really added to the story and made it better, August and Everly have a chance at making things work. I was expecting more from this book (I'm not sure what though), but the author delivered on a different level, and this is what I love most about reading.

The cliffhanger's resolved from book one. August and Everly continue on their rocky on again, off again road. While they are no longer together and Everly is preparing to marry another, August continues suffering through blackouts that lead to regaining his memories. As he remembers more and more, the reasons for his past behavior start to surface. The game he was playing with Trent before the coma was dangerous. The game he's playing now is deadly. You must read this fantastic romance with healthy doses of mystery and suspense. "Never judge a book by its cover" certainly stands true for August Kincaid, even if he doesn't remember. Throughout this two book series, several times I thought I had it all figured out. I couldn't have been more wrong. If ever there were two people more destined to be together, these two are it. August Kincaid and Everly Adams have quite the story to tell. It's definitely worth your time to read it! Received a copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.

This satisfying conclusion to the Lost and Found series had plenty of angst, tension and feels leading up to the finale. The end of the book left me with a full heart as Everly and August (and some others too) got their happily ever after. There were a couple surprises along the way that I never saw coming, as well as a couple things that I expected to happen which never did. The story wasn't predictable, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, this series made me a rock solid fan of this author and I'm certain to read anything and everything he has written and will write in the future. Great story, great characters and beautifully written love story!

Secrets, secrets, secrets...they don't die...they resurface and generally at the worst times 4.5 stars Remembering Everly is the conclusion I have been waiting for since reading Forgetting August. August and Everly. We were taken captive by their story in Forgetting August. The story is told in dual points of view. This couple stole my heart and it cheered for them, bled for them and healed as they found their conclusion.

Remembering Everly is the long-awaited sequel to Forgetting August. The author wove an intricate web of situations at the end of Forgetting August that left the readers yearning for this book. The author does not disappoint. August and Everly are both complex characters that find themselves in continuous limbo in their relationship with each other, and with the other people in their lives. The author has the reader traveling a slow route to the ultimate climax of the story. As August slowly regains memories of his past life, each memory affect his life, and his relationship with Everly. The book is suspenseful and I found myself turning the pages faster and faster, wanting to reach the conclusion of the complicated situation they found themselves in. The supporting characters in this book also have interesting stories and more than once, I found myself shocked by a new twist the author included. It kept me guessing until the final pages, wondering whether August and Everly would find their way back to each other or each would find their happily-ever-after with someone else. The author had me feeling sorry for the collateral damage August and Everly cause with their complex relationship and I was extremely happy with the final resolution the author reveals in the epilogue. I can't say more about that without spoiling major aspects of the story, but I strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic suspense with hot romantic scenes and heart-wrenching emotions. Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars-- REMEMBERING EVERLY is the second installment in J.L. Berg’s contemporary, adult LOST AND FOUND romantic, suspense duology focusing on August Kincaid, and Everly Adams. LOST AND FOUND should not be read as a stand alone story as it picks up immediately upon the events and ‘cliffhanger’ ending of book one FORGETTING AUGUST. Told from dual first person points of view (August and Everly) using present day, and memories from the past, REMEMBERING EVERLY is the continuing story of August Kincaid and Everly Adams. Waking up from a two year coma August finds himself searching for answers-the truth-as to what happened and why. Fast forward to present day wherein August begins to recapture some of his memories, and with it the return of his past. What ensues is August’s attempt to push away the woman that he loves in order to protect her from his past, while Everly tries to get on with her life. REMEMBERING EVERLY is a second chance romance; a story about two people who love one another but are afraid of what was, and what could be. While August begins to remember the pieces of his life, Everly finds herself pulled in another direction by different man. The world building continues to focus on the past as August endeavors to uncover the truth. His past is mired in secrets, lies and betrayal by the man he once considered friend and partner, and it is the process of recovering those memories that places both August and Everly in the direct line of fire. The first two thirds of REMEMBERING EVERLY is sluggish and somewhat uneventful; it fell very short in the angst and anxiety of the cliffhanger reveal. The focus follows Everly’s preparations for her future, and August’s slide into alcohol, the recovery of his memories, and the regret about his past. The couple is apart for a large portion of the story line. The final third of the book brings Everly and August back together as they search for the truth - setting up a take down with everyone involved. I am a little skeptical and conflicted about the finals events but the book is a story of fiction and its purpose is to entertain, so I was entertained. REMEMBERING EVERLY is a story of second chances and forgiveness; betrayal and revenge; love and a happily ever after. The premise is interesting but challenging; the characters are impulsive and passionate; the romance is lost to the struggles with the past; the happily ever after reveals a bit of a surprise. If you read FORGETTING AUGUST, you must definitely read REMEMBERING EVERLY to discover the truth about the past.
