Renaissance: The Rebirth of Antiquity:

The Dark Ages transformed into the modern world as the Renaissance brought a rebirth of classic Greco-Roman literature, architecture, art, and ideas. There was not only a renewed interest in learning ancient languages, but also in translating classic texts into modern tongues. Much like the ancients, writers were writing, painters were painting, and sculptors were sculpting. Most importantly, thinkers were thinking again.
