Overview

Two women meet for the first time over coffee in a San Francisco hotel. Each has come to satisfy her curiosity. One wants to learn how this mysterious woman on a holiday from Mexico knew her husband. The other wants to know what became of the boy she met on a beach as a teenager. In the course of their conversation, long-kept secrets will be revealed. This short story features characters from Scott R. Larson's three Dallas Green novels: Maximilian and Carlotta Are Dead, Lautaro's Spear, and Searching for Cunégonde. Set two years after the end of the novels, "Rendezvous" will inform readers of certain things about which Dallas, narrator of the novels, was ignorant. Indeed, readers' understanding of particular events will be irrevocably altered.

About the Author

Scott R. Larson is the author of five novels as well as several blogs, including one of the internet’s longest-running movie review web sites, ScottsMovies.com, which has been logging online film commentary since 1995. In addition to three books recounting the fictional adventures of his protagonist, Dallas Green, he also writes in the fantasy genre. Like Dallas, he is a native of California’s San Joaquin Valley, though he disavows any other similarities. He has also lived in France and in Chile and many years in and around Seattle, Washington. For some time now, he has called Ireland’s province of Connacht home.
