I was confused of the "family dynamics" between the heroine, her parents, her parents & her step brother & his mother ...???? Then, it seems the author was in a rush to explain the connection at the end with a confession from a crazed step brother, who isn't a relation. Huh???? Only, left me question the entire story, each character... Nope, not getting it, not interested in the series.

This was s well written novel. I loved the characters and emotions shared :) The story line has an even flow to it, easy to follow and the details are excellent. I would recommend this book, and possibly others as well by this author of you enjoy historical romances.

How does a book this awful get published?? Writer should be more respectful of readers than to put out material this dreadful. I tried it on a recommendation another reader posted on a very respected author’s Facebook page. Thank goodness I only wasted 99 cents to buy it.

I enjoyed the book. The storyline was good. The main characters were nice and likeable although a bit one dimensional, shallow, and simple. Some time given to character development and making the characters deeper and more interesting would have been a big plus. There was certainly room to do so as the story did go a bit flat by the middle of the book becoming a bit predictable, boring, repetitive. Devoting some time at the beginning of the book to Madeline's family backstory might help to better explain her family relationships for the reader.

The storyline had great potential but the characters and plot just were not developed. It jumped around in parts that left the reader catching up with the storyline.

This book has it all! Romance intrigue and the occassional sigh. I found myself chuckling a few times. I thoroughly enjoyed this book

Kind of simple and naive, these people were pretty predictable and on the boring side

I enjoyed most of it. It got a bit flat and boring towards the end though.

Rescued by a Highlander by Keira Montclair Clan Grant Series Book One Laird Alexander Grant was on a mission to find reivers. Instead, he finds himself and his brother Brodie rescuing a young woman from the hands of her brutal stepbrother. A young woman who seems to be afraid of him, seems to be taking over his good sense, and is popping up in his thoughts way too often. Madeline “Maddie” MacDonald is so happy that Alex has rescued her from her brother and the evil man Kenneth was going to marry her off to. The two years since her parents had died have been hellish for her. And now that a handsome man is kind to her...she can't seem to shake her fears from the past off enough to accept his kindness. This is the first book in the series and I really enjoyed it. This series continues with seven books with Alex's brothers and sisters and other relatives and then goes into the next generation with The Highland Clan. Enjoyable stories with romance and the tough road to get there. **Sexual content

800 pgs. Of a tale once you read you will agree with me when I say I could not put it down it took 2 days to read. And I look forward to reading the other brothers tales. Ms. D. Frim Bronx N.Y.

I haven't ready very many historical romances, but this book may change that! I thought this was a well written and captivating story. I loved the characters and will look for more books from this author and in this genre!

Keira Montclair captured my interest by the end of the first chapter. I just had to know how and when Alexander would see Maddie again! As I continued through the book, Keira Montclair did not disappoint. The storyline kept mounting which kept me quickly turning the pages. I love a quick read, that leaves a lasting impression. This book sure did!

This book is a great read. I have not read a historical romance novel in a while, and really enjoyed getting back to the genre. From the first paragraph to the last, it pulled you in and made it difficult to put the book down. I loved the main character, Madeline MacDonald.

My review "Somewhat Lacking" was entered into the second book in this series. I found this almost insultingly parochial. Can be scanned without brain cells. Lacking in descriptive and motivational detail. It was, at least, grammatically edited well - but what can you expect from a fifth grade book? How hard could it be? I'm hoping the second book will improve.

It was a good story. Great, strong characters. It had a happy ending, but the way the step brother ended did seem rushed and wasn't as satisfying as I would of liked but other than that it was goid..

Confused about who madeline's mother was. Also the stoty became monotonous after a while.
