Retain the Silence

It is the end of 1880, and Melbourne is booming from the wealth from the gold fields. Ned Kelly, the notorious bushranger, has been arrested. A killer is stalking the streets of the city, killing and mutilating the faces of young prostitutes. The police are at a loss, as no one is prepared to talk due to fear of the killer.

Then Detective Inspector John Evans, who is heading the investigation, learns that an innocent young woman has been killed one night while visiting the International Exhibition. Has the killer changed his choice of victim? Are the women of the city no longer safe? And what has happened to her fiancé?

There will be more deaths before the killer is caught and the reason is known why the victims had to be silenced.
