Raymond was born in War, West Virginia to Rufus and Mollie Hill in 1931. He was reared in Grundy, Virginia. Later he moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he had his conversion, under the Ministries of the Rev. F. F. Bosworth and the Rev. William. Branham.
