"What the fuck?" Slamming out of his office, Reid Parker strode onto R.I.P. Classic's parking lot in time to watch the Ford Mustang — the same damn one he'd put in a quote to do bodywork on two weeks ago — peel out onto the road, sun glinting off its newly chromed rear bumper. A bumper they sure as hell hadn't worked on.
Law, his friend and manager, turned to him, rubbing the back of his neck. "Did you see that shit? Said he decided to take the car somewhere else."
"Where?" Someone had stolen another job out from under them, and Reid intended to find out who the hell was doing the stealing.
"Not a clue. Just said he was taking his business elsewhere from now on." Law crossed his arms over his black leather cut. "That Mustang was gonna bring in some serious bank, but losing the other jobs he was bringing our way?" He shook his head. "That's not just about losing money. It's about hurting our rep."
This was true. R.I.P. had a stellar reputation. They weren't the biggest car restoration business in Miami by chance. They knew their shit, did excellent work. Losing business to someone else was not cool, especially when that customer had been coming to them for fucking years. Worse? This was not the first. Someone had been steadily taking work from them for the last couple of months. "How did it look?"
"Mint. The body work was slick, and whoever rebuilt the engine was a goddamn magician. That bitch purred, brother."
"Leave it with me." Reid strode to his office. No way would he sit by and risk damage to his good name. He didn't appreciate someone encroaching on his turf, stealing his customers. It didn't matter how much money, how many shops he had. It made no damn difference, not to him. Every job lost was a hit.
Through sheer pigheaded determination, he'd turned his love of cars — and when he was a kid, his escape from the reality of his shitty life — into ten thriving shops across the country.
The reason he had what he did, was that he did not let shit slide. Ever. Dragging yourself out of the gutter, having to fight tooth and nail for every damn thing you wanted tended to have that effect on a person.
There were only a handful of quality electroplaters in Miami. One of them had re-chromed the Mustang, and he intended to find out who'd booked the job.
Thirty minutes and several phone calls later, he was in his car and headed to the other side of the city. Axle Alley, for shit's sake. The road had held that name for as long as he could remember — lined with businesses that catered to anything with an engine. But these were not high-end businesses. This was where your average Joe came with his average paycheck to get average work done.
At least that's what he'd always thought.
He'd never heard of West Restoration. But from what he'd managed to find out, the small garage had been doing the occasional restoration job for years, though its main focus had always been your usual, run-of-the-mill mechanical work. Now with a new name, and new ownership, it seemed that focus had changed.
He'd expected it to be one of the short-lived garages that popped up in South Beach from time to time, only to close within the first two years. Building a steady and — as he'd found out recently — loyal customer base wasn't easy.
How they were drawing people over to this side of the city, the fucking asshole of Miami as far as he was concerned, was a goddamned mystery.
West Restoration wasn't hard to find. Bizarrely, it was right next to a cottage that looked like the Big Bad Wolf might pay it a visit, the only residential property on this stretch of road as far as he could see. The garage had a newly painted sign that stood out against its faded neighbors like a freakin' beacon, all shiny and new and — purple.
He shook his head in disgust and drove past the parking area in front of the main workshop, and down the side of the building, making sure to park his black '61 Plymouth Suburban — a hearse in its previous life — out of eye-shot of the roller doors. R.I.P. Classics was emblazoned on the side, and he didn't want them tagging him right off the bat. This mission was all about stealth, at least until he'd had a chance to check the place out.
A black Ford pickup with green flames coming up over the hood and down the sides was parked next to his car, and he took a moment to look it over. It was good. Really good. If the rest of their work was anything like this, these guys had talent, and lots of it.
The outside of the place was nothing special, but it'd been treated to a makeover as well, given a fresh coat of paint in the same migraine-inducing, retina-searing purple.
"Jesus." Shoving his keys in his pocket, he strode through the doors and into the workshop.
At this point he hadn't decided on a game plan other than sizing up the competition, and that's what they were. He could see that now. Yeah, they were small and they were out of the way, but they weren't amateurs playing around. They knew their stuff, and if they were stealing his customers, they were a threat regardless of their size.
A guy in coveralls sat on a crate on the other side of the workshop, full welding mask covering his face, welding a patch of steel over a spot that had rusted almost all the way through. He knew this because he knew that car. The powder blue, '55 Ford Customline had been in his garage a few weeks ago. He'd been the one to look it over and had done the quote himself.
He scanned the rest of the workshop, spotting an English Wheel, rollers, and various other tools you'd use if you did things old school. These guys worked hammer and file, from the ground up. These weren't rush jobs.
They made their own custom panels, weren't buying them in, and they were doing it well. Folks didn't mind paying extra green for this kind of workmanship. It took longer, but if the end results were anything like he'd seen so far, the extra time would be worth it for a lot of people.
This, he hadn't expected.
He looked around again, took in the place with fresh eyes, mind ticking over. Hell, excitement pumped through his veins, something he hadn't experienced in a long time.
The determination he'd felt on the drive over shifted, becoming something else entirely.
As R.I.P. had grown, gotten busier, he'd moved away from this kind of detailed, hand-tooled work. They bought in rather than doing it themselves, to save time, to get more cars through the door. Not many did it like this anymore. This is what he wanted to bring back to his own business.
There was a hole in the market — he knew this, had known for a while — but training staff in this type of work took time, time he did not have. Man, if he could offer both options, this being higher priced and fully customized ...
* * *
It took him all of ten minutes to decide he wanted West Restoration — and the staff that came with it.
The crackle and bright flickering light of the MIG welder stopped suddenly, and Reid turned to the guy across the room. He stood from the low crate he'd been sitting on and flipped the mask up, then pulled it off completely.
Long, fiery red hair fell free, thick and wavy. His gaze shot up and landed on the most exquisite face he had ever laid eyes on. Wide almond-shaped eyes, like fucking clear emeralds, met his and held.
A woman. An unbelievably hot woman.
She walked toward him, and his gaze was drawn to the serious sway of her slim hips, her long legs, and back up to what had to be an amazing rack hidden under those coveralls.
What in the hell?
Planting her hands on her hips, she stopped in front of him, tilting her head up so she could meet his stare. She was tall, but nowhere near his six-foot-four.
And yeah, there was no other word for it. She was stunning. Full lips, made to wrap around a man's cock, high cheek bones, a perfect little nose, and those eyes, those bend-me-over-and-fuck-me eyes had his tongue stuck to the roof of his goddamn mouth.
"Yo," she said in a loud voice. "You want something?"
Was she for real?
Her eyes narrowed, and she clicked her fingers in front of his face. "Yo, dude." Then, shaking her head, lips twisted in disgust, she muttered, "Shit ... seriously?"
The woman had the face of an angel, and he'd go out on a limb and guess she also had the cussing abilities of a sailor. He found that such a fuckin' turn-on it wasn't funny. With effort, he pulled himself together enough to smile down at her.
"What do you want?" she said slowly, punctuating each word like he was dimwitted.
Biting the inside of his cheek so he didn't laugh, he arched a brow at her. "You work here?"
This earned him some serious eye rolling. "No, I get off on wearing coveralls in the middle of freakin' summer." With that she yanked down the zip at the front, slid them off her shoulders, and knotted the sleeves around her waist.
What she revealed was a skimpy, clingy, white tank, and the amazing rack he knew she had hidden. And when she crossed her arms — which were covered in bright ink from shoulder to wrist, flowers and leaves and birds all twined together beautifully — there was no way to miss the grease under her fingernails and smearing her forearms.
This woman was the physical embodiment of every fantasy he'd ever had. ... and that included the attitude.
He crossed his arms as well. "Nice way you talk to your customers."
Her spine straightened, eyes narrowing. She was itching to tear him a new one, it was written all over her face. He'd managed to piss her off just by opening his mouth, and he was enjoying the hell out of it. "Your boss around?"
She uncrossed those beautifully inked arms and planted them back on her slim hips. "Yep."
His cock filled, hardened, started to throb behind his fly. The more attitude she threw his way, the more turned on he got. The urge to kiss that smart mouth was nearly overwhelming. He mimicked her stance so he wouldn't tug her closer despite the go-crawl-under-a-rock-and-die vibe she was throwing his way. What he wouldn't do just to watch her unleash the fiery temper he suspected matched all that gorgeous fucking red hair. "Can I speak to him?"
"You're speaking to her right now. How can I help you, sir?"
She smiled, a shark's smile, showing off straight white teeth, and yeah, that turned him on as well. She could take a bite out of him any damn time she wanted. "You own this place?"
"On your own?"
"I have partners."
"Ahh what? What the hell's that supposed to mean?"
He shrugged. "They here?"
"Alex will be back in a few minutes." Her lips lifted on one side, and he noticed how the top one was fuller than the lower. Plump and bitable. "Maybe that would suit you better, sir?"
It would, but only because he couldn't think past the throb in his groin with this hot piece of ass throwing all that attitude his way. "Sure."
"Go park it over there, then." She pointed to the other side of the workshop, where a couple chairs sat against the wall. "You won't have long to wait."
Then she spun on the heel of her steel-toed boot and continued to go about her business like he wasn't there.
He chose not to sit, and instead leaned against the wall, unable to take his eyes off her. Lifting those toned, inked arms, she gathered her red hair up off her shoulders and tied it in a messy ponytail, revealing more ink at the back of her neck, one perfect red rose. The skin there glistened with a fine sheen of sweat, and he groaned under his breath, then tried to subtly adjust his cock, so it didn't look like he had a freaking heat-seeking missile down the front of his jeans.
She went back to the Customline and started working on the headlights. She was frenching them by the looks. When she finished, they'd be set in rather than stick out, giving the car a sleeker appearance. The fine muscles in her arms and shoulders moved as she worked, sexy as hell, and proving she worked hard. He already knew she didn't mind getting her hands dirty.
Screw the Playboy channel. Watching her work was the hottest thing he'd ever seen.
The sound of car tires crunching on gravel had him turning from the firecracker on the other side of the room. A silver Mercedes pulled in, and a guy in a suit climbed out, followed by a petite brunette from the passenger side. She wore denim cutoffs and a black tank. She also had ink, red roses as well by the looks of it, similar to the one on the back of the redhead's neck, but the brunette's covered the top half of one arm.
"Here's Alex now." He looked down at Miss Attitude, who was suddenly right beside him, a smirk front and center.
He straightened, about to go introduce himself to the suit, but the guy stopped in his tracks, pulled the brunette into his arms, and after planting a wet one on her, climbed back in the Mercedes and drove off.
You have got to be kidding me.
The other woman strode in, taking in the pair of them standing there. "What's going on?"
This was a male-dominated industry. Of course he'd come across female mechanics before. Still, he couldn't help being a little surprised. He guessed they were both in their early to mid-twenties, young. And male or female, to get where they were, the age they were, would not have been easy. Would have taken a determination to succeed he understood all too well.
He stepped forward, offered her his hand. "I'll take a wild guess. Alex?"
Instantly on guard, she left him hanging midair and stared him up and down. "Who wants to know?"
This was Alex all right. "Do you have any other partners? Or is it just you two?"
"There's one more," Alex said.
"And are they getting here any time soon?"
She narrowed her eyes. "Piper's running errands. She won't be back till later."
Rusty West watched her best friend take the sexist pig's outstretched hand and give it a firm shake. "Alex Franco."
The guy's light brown eyes slid from Alex back to her, and that's where they stayed. Like they had since he'd walked in, that hot stare following her around the workshop, unnerving the hell out of her.
Yeah, she was used to guys looking at her, but it didn't mean she hated it any less. And okay, at times she was guilty of using the sway she had to her advantage when the need arose. Still, that didn't change the fact that she did not like it, not one goddamned bit. This jackass, unfortunately, was no different. He'd taken one look at her and bam his dumb stick had taken over his pea brain. As far as he was concerned, that was it, the way she looked was all that mattered, there was nothing underneath.
He was still staring down at her, hand now aimed her way. "Reid Parker."
She kept hers at her side — until Alex nudged her with a pointy elbow to the ribs.
She didn't want to touch him. Somehow she knew it would be a huge mistake to let him wrap that big mitt around hers. But what could she do? He'd already called her out on her shitty customer service skills, and what if he wanted to hire them? Alex would skin her alive if she cost them a job just because the guy happened to be a major asshole.
Reaching out, she reluctantly took his hand. Rough, extremely rough skin scraped over hers, making her shiver. It was warm and huge, and sent tingles skating up her arm. She looked up into those unusual, light brown eyes ringed with gorgeous thick black lashes, and he stared right on back.
His nostrils flared, and one side of his mouth lifted a fraction. "This is the part where you tell me your name?"
Arrogant jackass. He hadn't let her go, so she yanked her hand free.
He repeated her name carefully, in that low, rough voice, like he was tasting it on his tongue, and she felt it pull low in her belly. What the hell was wrong with her? "That's me, now what do you want?"
Alex gave her a second jab in the ribs. "Rusty."
Reid chuckled, raspy and deep, and disturbingly she felt that as well, right between her thighs, like he'd pressed his mouth there and dragged his tongue over her rapidly dampening flesh. "Do you have another name, or is Rusty the one your mama gave you?"
She ignored the pulse throbbing deep inside and crossed her arms. "It's the only name you need to know, Chuckles."

I really liked Rusty, she is one fiesty lady, and more then Reid could resist. They had really good chemistry, their banters were cute, and just an over all great story. Can not wait to read about Piper now. This story is filled with conflict, steamy loving, heart wretching drama from both Rusty an Reid's past that kind of interfers with their relationship at times. Highly recommend.****
Amazing story-love this series.
Revved is book two in the Axle Alley Vipers series by Sherilee Gray. This book was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by the author. When I read book one of this series, Crashed, I fell in love with it. But when I love a book that much, I worry that the next book might not be as good. Well, I needn’t have worried because I loved this one just as much. This series is just so amazing. In this one we get to know Rusty West, one of the three co-owners of West Restoration, along with her sister Piper and Alex whom we met in the first book. Rusty loves what she does and she’s good at it. Their business is thriving and they have been getting some customers from R.I.P. Restoration across town which was a much bigger and more well known shop. Rusty’s life revolves around work and her two friends/co-owners/sisters. She doesn’t date, she actually has very little experience with men. And then Reid Parker walked in to her shop. Reid was the owner of R.I.P. He had built his shop from the ground up and then expanded to nine more shops across the country. So he doesn’t take kindly to finding out that a little shop across town has been stealing his customers. So he decided to check out the competition. What he saw impressed him. They did quality work the old fashioned way, did everything themselves. And then he met one of the owners, the most beautiful red head he has ever seen. He decided right then and there that he had to have this business, and it’s owner. “There was a lot more beneath the pretty package, and he wanted to unwrap every layer and discover all her secrets one by one.” Reid has a dark past, a past that genes say is inside of him as well. He can’t ever do to someone he cares about what was done to him. So he has resigned himself to a life free of emotional commitments. He will get to know Rusty, get her out of his system, and buy her business. That will be the end of it. Or will it? Rusty doesn’t trust easily. She has her own past that haunts her. But the more time she spends with Reid, the more her walls come down. “What was she getting herself into? He overwhelmed her, excited her, scared the crap out of her. There was more between them than just lust, she felt it, saw it in the way he looked at her, heard it in the things he said.” Reid and Rusty are like gasoline to fire. They combust when they are together. The more time they spend together, the more they both start to see a different future, one with each other in it, one with love. But the past has a way of coming back into the picture when you least expect it. The question is, will they be strong enough to withstand it, or not? This book was so amazing. I could not put it down. These two made me swoon, sigh, smile and shake my head. And yes, there was plenty of steam. The things Reid said curled my toes. And I love that we got some glimpses of Alex and Deke from book one to see how they were doing. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, Wrecked, which will be Piper’s story. “Rusty made him a better man, made him see himself as he is, not what he believed himself to be.”
Reid Parker owns multiple car restoration shops. When some of his prime business is going to a rival shop he goes to investigate, only to find an all woman shop with top grade work...but what captures his attention the most was a fiery and very sexy woman, Rusty, at the wheel. Now Reid has found two things he must have West Restorations and Rusty West. Rusty, her sister and best friend have taken over her dad's restoration shop, West Restorations. They are known for the quality and workman (or should I say workwoman) ship. Rusty doesn't have much trust or use for a man, so when her belly quivers at the sight of her competition, Rusty does everything she can to avoid him. Lots of sexual tension makes the boiling attraction explode in this marvelous contemporary romance. I couldn't help thinking of the common restoration shows that have crowded the airwaves lately while reading, Revved. My only thought was, how great would it be to have a female ran garage...it would be the making of an awesome TV show especially if it was anything like this incredible story. Rusty is strong, independent, motivated and absolutely one smart cookie. I absolutely loved delving into these pages and can't wait for more. I received this ARC copy of Revved from Entangled Publishing, LLC - Indulgence in exchange for a honest review.
This is my first book in the Axle Alley Vipers series and the first thing I noticed was how strong the women are. I really love that! I love that instead of a garage full of men you get a garage full of women. Lots of times in these books you will find maybe one woman in this setting and she is a bit out of place. Not here!! Which made me enjoy the book even more. I love books when the women are strong enough to hold their own. In Revved, we focus on Rusty, the red-headed welder of the group West Restoration. She is the girl that usually has grease on her cheek, hard headed, stubborn and does not date. In fact, until Reid Parker walks into the shop, she could care less about giving any guy the time of day. While Reid is a self-made man who has managed to pull himself up by his bootstraps from a past that was anything but easy. While he is determined and stubborn, he does have a soft side. These two were not expecting each other at all and it is great! While Rusty is fighting the attraction they have with everything in her Reid has decided that he not only must have Rusty but he needs West Restoration too. To say these too have chemistry is putting it lightly and they bash heads a lot. In the end though it is always worth it. After all the harder you have to fight for it the more you're gonna love it! I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was first published at Blushing Reads.
Reid Parker. WOW! He's up there with some of the sexiest main characters I've ever read about. His deep, rough voice and sexy tattooed body is deeply imprinted in my mind right now. Reid has flaws. Growing up with the kind of father he has is extremely difficult. Rusty has been hurt in the past too but in a different way. If they could only learn to communicate, things wouldn't be nearly as hard. Their chemistry is off the charts! Reid is a master at talking dirty. This book should come with a warning that reads: PLUG IN YOUR FAN CAUSE THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET EXTREMELY HOT! If I could give this book more than 5-Stars, I would. The writing was fantastic and the characters have awesome personalities. The secondary characters were great too! I can't wait to read more from this amazingly talented author. Received a copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.
I read the first book in the series and while it was an okay read for me, I think that this one definitely hit all the pluses for me in comparison and I enjoyed it quite a lot. Rusty is a no-nonsense gal, a beautiful woman who happens to be very talented as a car restorer. But she gets tired of men who only see her looks and not the rest of her. When she first meets Reid, it seems like he's going to be just like all the other men she's encountered, but he's as attracted to her fiery wit and her passion for cars as he is to her beauty. Though Reid sometimes came across as a bit of jerk, he redeemed himself well when you got to know the reasons for his actions. He soon realizes that Rusty doesn't want to be treated like another notch on his bedpost and though they share some sexy scenes together (and I do mean sexy!), it's her heart that he soon realizes is what he wants, since she's already claimed his. This doesn't stop him from making some foolish moves of course, and I liked that Rusty made him work for her forgiveness. Overall, a great entry in the series. 4 stars.
I’d never read the first book in the series, Crashed, but Gray made it easy to get into the story without having done so. The characters hadn’t met in the first novel, so I never worried about missing out on previous events between the two. The chemistry between Reid and Rust was hot from the very first scene, so I got invested right away. Not only did I like them as a couple, but I also loved them as individual characters. Both Reid and Rust were very well-developed, and I hope to learn more about them in the third installment. The only real criticism I have of this book is that I didn’t like how the climax happened in the last 10% of the book. It just felt as if those events should have happened earlier in the story. The odd placement sort of made the ending of the book feel abrupt, and like something else was missing from the story. I would recommend this story to anyone looking for a book featuring not one, but three strong female characters. Rusty, her sister Piper, and their friend Alex are tough chicks working in a male dominated field. Though they’re no pushovers, they still manage to be tough and soft all at the same time. Reid and Rust’s relationship was one of mutual respect. While Reid “wore the pants” in the relationship, Reid also would do anything to please his woman. Revved was a great romantic page-turner that will keep you glued to the page as soon as you open the book. I received this book for free from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review. 4.5 Stars! The idea of an all-female team of mechanics and classic car restorers giving the undisputed king of that industry a run for his money was an interesting concept and had me wanting to read REVVED but the writing far exceeded what I was expecting and I absolutely loved it! I was reaching out for the first book even before I finished this and can't wait for Piper's story. Reid Parker worked hard to establish his classic car restoration business, which has become the standard in the industry so he's not going to stand by idly while he loses business to some up and coming crew, even if the quality of their work is exceptional. Imagine his surprise when he finds out that his competition is a crew of female mechanics. And he gets completely blown away by the sexy and tattooed redheaded welder, such that his plans to acquire their business take a back seat to his plans to get her in his bed. Rusty West has given up on men and instead focused her energy on the garage she co-owns with her business partners, who are also her best friend and her younger sister. Rusty and her girls grew up in her father's garage and always loved being under the hood of a car. Under the tutelage of Rusty's father, they acquired their skills and have slowly started building a reputation as the go-to people for restoring classic cars. So when she gets the tingles when Reid Parker walks into their shop, Rusty plans to stay far away from him, but she does not count on her fascination with him or the major chemistry between them. Rusty was everything I expected: strong, confident, sexy and stubborn, something obviously needed to thrive in a male-dominated industry as theirs, and she's determined to resist Reid. But she's more than met her match in Reid. Reid is just as determined and driven, he always gets what he wants and now he's got Rusty in his sights, he's not giving up until he has her where he wants her. The chemistry between these two is hot! But Reid has got his work cut out for him trying to convince Rusty to take a chance on him and for a man who's not interested in commitment, he finds himself wanting more than the usual one night from Rusty. But things are not always what they appear to be and both Rusty and Reid have to deal with their baggage if they want to take their attraction beyond a brief affair. REVVED is a sexy, sexy story! What's not to love about an intense and growly male and the strong, confident woman with a hidden core of softness who tames him? I really can't express how much I enjoyed the chemistry between Rusty and Reid. The story was so much fun to read and the writing so, so good! I'll definitely be watching out for more from Ms. Gray. 4 - "Grease looks good on you." Stars! I have to admit I was a little bit wary when I started the second book in the Axle Alley Vipers series, after the first book Crashed; Deke and Alex’s story left me a little underwhelmed. Luckily Revved lived up to its name, and Reid and Rusty’s story kept me well entertained, and pretty Revved up to it’s end. I liked that the author gave this couple a slower build to boiling point than in the previous book. Rusty is wary of men, and dirty talking, Reid took the right route in building their connection steadily. It gave them a tension and sizzle that simmered nicely and kept me engaged, and when they finally do get together the author made it totally worth the wait. ”You are so full of it, it’s not even funny.” The drama is well paced, with a few lighter points to keep it moving along, and although towards the end gets a little heavy in its doses, I had fallen in love with the pair of them by that point, and it felt relevant, so it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story-line that the author gave them, it worked really well especially with their pasts and the issues that they were dealing with, as a couple and separately. ”I want that fire… I want all of it.” It was good to catch up with Alex and Deke, as well be given a slight taste of the sexual tension humming between Piper and Cole, (Wrecked; due for release, February 2016) it made me hopeful that there is a potentially stellar read on my TBR for early 2016. ”Okay, fine. I’ll admit it… You don’t completely suck.” ARC generously provided via Netgalley, in exchange for the above honest review.
After being hurt and humiliated years ago by a man she thought cared for her, Rusty West decided to take herself permanently off the market and swore off men all together. She then focused all of her attention on her work, giving old cars new life is her passion now, and she thoroughly enjoys working in the body shop with her two best friends. Together the three of them have made West Restoration one of the most newly successful auto body shops in town, and have even stole business away from their competitors. And one of their competitors is not real happy about losing business, so he decides to take matters into his own hands and see just who is tramping on his territory.... Reid Parker has been the town's leader in the auto body business for a long time, and until recently customers were steadily walking through the door. After finding out there is another auto body business in town that is stealing his customers from right under his nose, he decides to pay this garage a visit, and give the guys running it a piece of his mind. Once he arrives at the shop he receives the shock of a lifetime, he never expected it to be three women running West Restoration. After meeting Rusty, Reid is intrigued, he decides that he must do whatever it takes to own her business and have her crew working for him, but she's not selling... I was thrilled about making a return visit to the Axle Alley Vipers series, I thoroughly enjoyed the first installment and was eager to see what Ms. Gray had in store for these ladies. And I have to say she did not disappoint, this installment was equally as amazing as the first! Reid and Rusty were perfect for each other, I enjoyed the banter between them, and their chemistry was off the charts!! Definitely another can't miss addition to this series, highly recommend you meet the ladies of Axle Alley Vipers series, they will have you laughing, smiling, and cheering them on the whole way through!! 4.5 stars Revved was such a good read, I couldn't put it down! Loved both Reid and Rusty, they were strong, stubborn and very entertaining characters. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop, there was never any doubt these two passionate people belonged together. Their chemistry was off the charts! I'm loving the Axle Alley Vipers series and while each book can be read as a standalone I highly recommend you read them all. Can't wait for Piper's and Cole's book next in Wrecked
I was really surprised by this one. I thought that just the guys would be the ones withe the body shop and they were going to be the mechanics and all, boy was I wrong and I am so glad that I was. This was a very good female empowering story that says that females can do what males can do and do it just as good. Reid owns several auto body shops around the country and has never had a problem being the top in the industry. When he gets some competition in his Miami location, he has to make a trip to find out what is going on. Reid never expected his competition to be females and ones that are spunky at that. Rusty is good at what she does. Rusty has had a rough past with men and she has sworn them off for now. Rusty does not want to put herself or her business in jeopardy for anything, and especially not a guy. Rusty is smart and tough and very competent. When Reid meets Rusty, he thinks that there is no way that she is his competition and he also thinks that she is one of the prettiest women he has ever meet. Reid is out to steal her business and her heart, but he is up for a challenge with Rusty. You have to read this one to see how Rusty and Reid end up. Sherilee Gray did an awesome job with this one and I loved it!!
I received an ARC from Entangled Publishing, in exchange for an honest review. Reid wants Rusty and her company, West Restoration, but Rusty isn't about to let a man take everything from her again, no matter how sexy he is or how he makes her feel. Rusty and Reid are both a little damaged emotionally by their pasts but together they are hotness personified. This is a really good romance. I loved it and I loved Rusty and Reid. I loved the girl power of the "Axle Alley Vipers". Although we didn't see too much of them, the supporting characters, Deacon, Law, and Dominic are interesting. I definitely intend to read the first book of the series about Alex and Deacon and I am looking forward to reading Piper and Cole's story when it comes out. This book is well-written and held my interest from beginning to end. Highly recommended.
I received an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review.... Grease monkey who can throw a wrench and that’s the girl! Her name is Piper she is a Hot lady name Rusty and she co-owns one of the up and coming car restoration shops in town and she’s been taking the business away from Reid who owns 10 of the most well known shops in town. He sets his sights on Rusty, not just because she’s good at what she does but because she’s one gorgeous looking woman. Rusty does her work the old fashion way Reid has gotten away from that and thinks he can make a deal. Things heat up and business fades away. Can they make it work? They both have a past will it affect their future? This is one very steamy read full intense scenes both in and out of the bedroom!
Awesome read! I really loved this one. Great writing and characters that are fun and real make this a very enjoyable story. When Reid Parker's car restoration business starts losing customers to another shop he knows he has to find a way to stop it. He decides to visit West Restoration to assess the situation. Once he sees the operation he knows he not only needs to own that shop but the feisty red headed woman that worked there. Rusty West may not be so agreeable to either of those though! A quick, light, sexy read that I highly recommend.
I am floored. Reid and Rusty's story was an excellent read. Sherilee Gray nearly annihilated me. The emotions Revved evoked ranged from hot and sexy, to heartrending pain. These two individuals had faced so much suffering I was happy to see that they managed to rise above it professionally at least. Ms. Gray created characters that have so much to offer but have let the torment of the past continue to play a part in the current direction of life they are traveling. Baggage on top of baggage is what had to be sorted through. The Axle Alley Vipers series is my first foray into Sherilee Gray novels. Crashed and Revved are books that combine passionate storytelling with sensual romance. This series is what introduced me to Sherilee Gray. Am anticipating the final book. Once received will read the entire series again. It's that good. I received an ARC Of Revved in exchange for an honest review.
Get your motor running with this fine romance! The Axle Alley Vipers are here again – and you actually learn how they got that nickname in this book! West Restoration is a car shop run by the two West sisters and their best friend. With an intelligent, highly successful business woman, mechanic and superb vehicle restorer as the leading lady you just know this is going to be different! With her sister and friend they make a formidable trio, succeeding in a normally male dominated trade. When they start gaining business at the expense of Reid Parker’s workshops he decides to investigate with the intention of buying them out, taking on their staff and expanding his number of businesses to eleven. Imagine his surprise when he discovers they’re all female! Not only that but the first one he met, Rusty West, is stunning, feisty and hot. He’s instantly attracted but she doesn’t date. She, however, doesn’t trust men, doesn’t date and would never put her business at risk by going out with him . . . or will love find a way? This plot is brilliant. The working relationships and support systems of the feisty females as they take on all comers shines through the entire story. All the characters are well developed and more is revealed of them – including some of the less prominent ones like Law – as the story progresses. It is so easy to empathise with them because the story is well written. I particularly liked the way secrets of Reid’s upbringing and how it is impacting on his life now are revealed. The author makes the scenarios and developments all seem to flow so realistically. This is a great read as the main characters move from rivals to lovers but there are many things to throw a spanner in the works as they journey towards their HEA. (Sorry, couldn’t resist!) This is a great story with great, well developed characters together with plenty of feisty and hot action – I can’t wait to read the third story in this series! Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too for provided an ARC for me to read in exchange for this, my honest review.
