When Dee Dawson meets sexy mohawked guitarist Joel Gibbon, she knows it won't be long before she has him wrapped around her finger. No guy has ever been able to resist her … but Dee's met her match in a player like Joel.

Dee's not the relationship type—not after seeing the pain "love" has caused her friends and family—yet she's desperate to make Joel want her more than anyone else. He quickly becomes an obsession, and when a reckless attempt to make him jealous ends in disaster, Dee turns into the damsel in distress she never wanted to be. With her carefree world crashing down around her, the last thing she needs is Joel's pity.

But Joel is suddenly determined to prove he cares, and no matter how hard Dee tries to push him away, he refuses to let her shut him out. Now the girl who swore she'd never say those three little words must choose between guarding her heart and losing Joel forever … or falling head over heels for the tattooed rock star of her dreams.

I really disliked dee. I found her funny at times but MOST of the time I wanted to just punch her in the face and tell her to grow the f@#& up. I liked joel cause i ve always had a weakness for a boy with a guitar and a drink in his hand.

I do love a good rock star romance, and this is definitely one of those! I loved that Dee was just the way she is. I also definitely identified with how she felt what happened to her was her own fault, even though it wasn't really. But I also got mad at the fact that she kept letting things go the way she did, and kept pushing Joel away. I know, I know, it's done for the drama. Anyway, a great second book in this series, nice and steamy like I enjoy, and soon I need to read book three!

Riot is one of those stories that grips your whole heart. Feeling the burn every time they are about to feel that incredible feeling. But are unwilling to give in to those feelings that are so desperately trying to crawl their way out. Dee is a complicated character, she’s dealt with a lot in her childhood, and it made her, who she is today. She’s been very adamant that she is not willing to just give her heart to a boy and have it break. So terrified of that, she is just sleeping with whomever, to fill that little hole. Joel, on the other hand, has never been love. He’s also had a troubled childhood, with a mother who was selfish. So he hasn’t felt that love either. Riot isn’t an easy romance; it’s messy. But just like some of the most significant romance novels. It’s not cookie cutter. You don’t know how many times I yelled at Dee in my car; I probably looked like a crazy person. But I loved this book so much, and when you hear the words straight of Joel’s mouth, it’s heart melting. Overall, I give this Five Boundless Stars

Loved it! Dee and Joel are so much fun to read about - they're both crazy, and they are so perfect for each other. Adam and Rowan are still my fave, but Dee and Joel are right up there in my favorite book relationships! I need Chaos now!! Jamie Shaw, I will buy and read anything you write. You're a fantastic writer - your stories are so real, and just amazing. Thanks for writing them and giving me my new favorite romance series!!!

Very good. I loved Dee from the first story. I was nervous what was going to happen during it but luckily my heart wasn't shattered (well, it was a bit!) and the whole thing was fantastic.

The book should have been shorter too much drama does he love do I love him. The feelings and drama in the book should have taken place in high school not college. I loved the first book but the second was not good forced my self to finish reading it I hope the third one is better

First off, I am going to be completely honest and say that you can read this book as a standalone if you absolutely must. If you can however, read Mayhem. It’s Adam and Ro’s story and absolutely adds a ton to this story. Regardless though, Jamie Shaw knocks Riot out of the park and has an anxiously awaiting reader here in Missouri. Dee Dawson has a huge attraction for rock and roller guitarist, Joel Gibbon. Content as a hook up for several months, she begins to want more than a casual night of no holds barred passion. Joel doesn't want or need a girlfriend and is content to leave their relationship the way it is. After a harrowing attack on Dee that leaves her traumatized, Joel realizes that his feelings for Dee run deeper than he ever imagined. I adore the world that Jamie has created. Filled with great main characters, extraordinary secondary characters, and really fun sexy times, Shaw writes unique stories. What I loved the most is how excellently she really writes 20-somethings. No one has everything figured out and she allows her characters to change and grow without assuming anything. Sure you know there will hopefully be a happy ending, but beyond that, her books don’t seem to follow a formula and are ultimately delightful.  Fans of Jay Crownover will have a new author in Jamie Shaw. A great writer with wonderful characters, Shaw’s take on the rock star world is fresh and fun. Fast paced with plenty of angst and a lovely happily ever after, Shaw’s books seem to only get better as time goes on.

Jamie Shaw has a way of telling a story by slowing entering a character and through the pages revealing their past to engross you into their story of who they are and why they do what they do Mayhem had me swooning over their relationship and Riot had me wanting to smack Dee into Joels arms and I cant wait to see what kind of Chaos Kit can cause with Shawns life

I so loved the first book in this series. Couldn't wait for the more so when I got my hands on Riot, I didn't wait to dive in. Dee and Joel's story is a little different, though. While Rowan is Dee's best friend, they couldn't be more different. She loves to have the guys chase her but the catching part is always short lived. The idea of a relationship is more than she can take. Her mom broke her heart at age eleven and she's not going there again. So a different guy every night? So fine with her. Guess hanging with a band is the right place for that, right? Yeah, except that she catches Joel's eye. He's your typical rock star. Different girl every night or hour as the case may be. But he keeps going back to Dee and she's good with that. And the game begins. Both of them avoiding what's obvious to everyone else. Seems that the way to tame a player is to be a player yourself. When both of them can't stand to see each other with someone else, Joel starts to figure it out. But Dee resists, a lot. It's quite amusing actually. Rowan tries to enlighten Dee but she won't have it. This girl falls kicking and screaming. The story is a sexy roller coaster ride of emotions as Dee tries to figure out her heart and Joel shows his in his actions. I really enjoyed watching them come to terms with their hearts. Truly was a riot. While I totally recommend you read Mayhem first, it's not necessary. Riot can stand alone. Those that love the sexy rock star story will want this one for sure. Definitely at fangirl status for this series! Cannot wait for Chaos in July. Looks like that's Shawn and Kit's story. And there's certainly a story there. A history and some chemistry. Gonna be good. Make sure you're ready for that one.

I loved Mayhem but Riot was even better! So sexy and drama-filled but also just a fun read. I love the new adult genre and this book definitely earned a spot in my top 5.

I totally fell in love with Mayhem, Jamie Shaw's first book. I immediately loved her characters and couldn't wait for the next book. Many times the second book can't live up to the first but not so with Riot! I found myself pulled into the story of Joel and Dee. Joel just stole my heart. "I love you because I can't not love you." I read it in one sitting and now I am going to have to wait for the next book to come out this summer...dang! Jamie Shaw's writing is easy, readable and addicting. Sometimes an author just hits that special place in a reader's heart with her stories, characters and writing...Jamie Shaw is that author for me!

Sequels rarely live up to their origins but Riot does. I loved Mayhem,  introduction to the genre. Riot continues the story from different perspectives. The protagonists of Mayhem are present but this time the story focuses on two different characters. I  wasn't   wild about Dee when the book begin but Ms. Shaw does an excellent  job of slowly revealing  Dee's backstory. It made me much more sympathetic towards her. I would welcome a friend as loyal and fierce as Dee. I am looking forward to the nexrt book Choas. Only one question remains - Ms. Shaw when will we hear Mike's story?
