I love Emma Chase, but this was just okay for me. Kinda cheesy. Not that funny and the characters kinda got on my nerves. Not reading the follow up.

... before the others are released. What a great story, with lovable characters and a fun hook. I can't wait for the rest! BTW, I loved the shout out to the Princess Diaries!

Who doesn't love a fairy book romance with a real prince...? Wonderfully implausible tale that melts the heart!

I really enjoyed this book. I was hoping for the sequel to be about Nik and Olivia instead of a spin off of Henry, but Im still interested in reading it. But it may be hard to beat this first book.

What a fun and sexy modern fairy tale come true! I really enjoyed this story about Prince Nicholas Pembrook of Wessco and New York waitress, Olivia Hammond. It's playful, yet emotional, and had me hooked from the start! Nicholas and Olivia both feel bound by family obligations and responsibilities and are going through the motions of their lives. A chance encounter sets both their worlds spinning and on a journey that neither of them expected. Their start is rocky (and hilarious), but as they let the other in, they find in each other, that missing piece from their lives. A comfort and happiness that neither has ever known. When the drama of expectation and obligation rears it's ugly head, readers are thrown into an emotional upheaval just like Nicholas and Olivia. The story is told from both of their points of views and it helped so much to heighten the pains and joys of our hero and heroine. Yes, the plot/outcome was fairly predictable, but the angst and drama along the way made this an emotional read at times. I enjoyed it so much that I listened to the audiobook as well and let me tell you, Shane East was incredible. He really brought Nicholas to life and had me shedding tears in some of the heavier scenes. Definitely recommend the audiobook for this delicious read! The epilogue was perfect and I am excited to continue on with this series. Bring on Henry! ;)

I was so happy this wasn’t a trilogy, which seems to be Chase’s go to format on a lot of books lately.  Nope, the entire story is in one book; I loved it!  And let me just say I loved the story.  It is everything I have come to love from Chase’s writing, funny, charming, sexy, with characters I fell in love with, it’s the all-around great contemporary romance.   Andi Arndt is once again a brilliant narrator who can do no wrong and Shane East, is just wow.  This is the first book I have listened to him, and I am a fan.  His voice is yummy with a side of yes more, please!  I am going to add him to my list of narrators I drool over.   This is a light and fun contemporary romance that was a total escape, and I am going to continue with the series.   I am giving Royally Screwed 5 Boundless Stars; I loved

This book was sitting on my TBR forever, I don’t know why it took me so long to read it! The prince falls in love with a commoner storyline is such a good one and surprisingly one without a lot of options out there. The characters were really interesting and likeable. I liked how the story spanned months so it wasn’t like they ended up where they did after just meeting each other. Henry was really great too, I can’t wait to read his book next. That should be interesting!

4.5 stars — I’ve been looking forward to this one since it came out, but you know how sometimes you’re so excited for something that you start to worry that you’ve hyped yourself up too much, and it can’t possibly do anything but disappoint you? That’s how I started to feel about this book. So I hesitated starting it, even though I’d already bought the set of paperbacks for the whole series…that conflict between head and heart I guess. But I worried needlessly, this book was so up my alley, it’s not even funny. And now it’s going to be hard for me to wait until later in January to read the rest of the series!! The characters in this one were so good…I really empathized with so many of the struggles they were going through, and they felt very authentic. Their voices were very distinct, and I just loved reading from both Nicholas and Olivia’s perspectives… I also really appreciated that neither were perfect, they both had flaws. Nicholas was definitely a horny bastard…I wasn’t expecting that, but it was amusing. I was concerned that that might take away from the romance and the connection between him and Olivia. And while there *was* a strong steam factor in this book, I totally bought into the development of their feelings for each other as well. I was also worried that I wouldn’t fall in love with Nicholas…I mean, yeah, he’s sexy and hilarious, but I was worried that that was all we were going to get. But damn, Ms. Chase just really brought it in this book. I really understood the pressures that he was under as the Crown Prince, and how he was torn between the duty that he’s known all his life, and his love for his country and WANTING to do his best for them. And while I wanted to smack him like a gagillion times for the truly dickish things he would say, or the just misguided way he would behave, or the selfish things he asked of Olivia, I could actually understand how his upbringing shaped him in that way and made him think some of those things were reasonable. And Olivia was just the perfect foil for Nicholas. She was just so kind and good and empathic, but she was also seriously sassy and could give it back to Nicholas and meet him on his level. I can only imagine what a breath of fresh air she was to Nicholas…and I loved that even when she learned who he was, she really didn’t behave too differently towards him. In fact, she treated everyone with the same respect and kindness, but also wouldn’t take crap from ANYONE. I was worried about her, and how things were going to play out in their romance, but I really was satisfied with how that all turned out. The other thing that I really appreciated was that the story did not always follow the usual tropes. I mean, there were definitely some things that happened that followed an expected path, but then there were other little plot twists that I expected to go one way, and I was pleasantly surprised when they didn’t. Which is not to say that I don’t like those tropes, I do…but sometimes it’s fun when things go in a different direction too, you know? I was actually a little confused about how the story was going to play out, and when we’d get the big conflict, but again…I shouldn’t have worried. I was happy with how it played out. This book also had a strong secondary cast of characters, and I LOVE that. And not just the secondary characters that will be getting their own books, like the adorable but damaged Henry, or the irrepressible, effervescent Ellie, or the

I listened to the audio version of Royally Screwed and let me just say that it was one of the best ones I’ve ever heard. Olivia is trying to keep the family business going when she meets Nicholas. Little does she know that the drunken idiot is really Prince Nicholas. I loved what they brought out in each other and that we got to see the “laid back” version of the prince. Even though he is royalty, he had an amazing sense of humor. They both had me LMAO for a majority of the book. When the S*** hit the fan I was so invested in both of them that my heart broke. I’m sure we’ll be seeing them again in the rest of the series and I am excited to devour it.

4.5 “Princes do it better” Stars Sigh… This was such a great read! Royally Screwed is a Cinderella story about a manwhoreish prince who was used to getting his way and the first girl that puts him in his place and makes him work for it. It was exactly what I needed: sweet, sexy, not overly angsty with fleshed out characters, funny banter and great chemistry. There’s a lot going on for both Nicholas and Olivia besides their budding relationship… one they start with an expiration date but that soon changes their hearts. I think I’m still sighing after Nick… I mean, he starts off as a completely entitled a-hole, cocky jerk. As we get to know him though, his life is not as easy as it seems. When he finally begins to act on his heart’s feelings, well then he is not only hot, sexy and great in bed he’s also sweet, considerate and just plain perfect. Olivia was selfless and sweet. Taking care of her baby sister, a drunk for a father and a struggling family business is almost more than she can handle. Throw in a wickedly handsome guy who won’t take no for an answer and you get one really sassy girl who will put even a prince through his paces. I liked how Royally Screwed didn’t turn out exactly as I was expecting, I mean, it kind of did but in a different way that I would have guessed and I really appreciated this. I laughed and I snorted, I may have even cried a little. I was totally invested in every character we got to meet and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one in the series. This was such a fantastic choice as it’s a great mood lifter!

Royally Screwed is book one in the Royally series. This was my first Emma Chase book and now I can see why people love her work! I have a weakness for royalty books and really wish there were more of them out there. I already want book two, so it's going to be a must buy when it comes out. We start off meeting Nicholas, the Crowned Prince of Wessco. He's a playboy prince that loves all the ladies, but the Queen wants him to settle down and gives him a deadline on getting married. She also sends him to New York to bring his brother back home. While there Nicholas meets Olivia Hammond, she runs a coffee shop that is famous for their pies. His drunk encounter with her winds up with a pie to his face and more intrigue than he knows what to do with. I loved how Olivia and Nicholas's characters acted towards each other. Olivia isn't a push over so didn't take his crap and the best part was even when she did find out who he was she wasn't star struck. I really appreciated that! Though it was a tad bit predictable in places, there were also surprise scenes I didn't see coming. I felt overall this was pretty balanced and highly entertaining. Royally Screwed is a delectable must read. I loved seeing how taken Nicholas became with Olivia and how his character changed as the novel progressed. I'd imagine it had something to do with her turning him down at first since he's so used to getting his way. The way the characters were written just had the reader falling in love with them too. So overall, I think the author did a wonderful job and I cannot wait to get my hands on book two. I recommend this to any royalty romance lovers out there.

this is my first Emma Chase book, and to be frank, i did not have very high expectations for it. however, i was very pleasantly surprised after i finished reading it, all in one day. i think the characters were so adorable, and the story is well written and i liked the back and forth story-telling between the two characters. so refreshing to see the mind-set of both characters that way. now i regret not waiting to read it closer to the sequel...almost 4 months till 'royally matched'.

Royally Screwed is the first installment in Emma Chase's adult contemporary romance series titled Royally. Based on my personal reading experience, this storyline was familiar, predictable, sexy, and sigh-inspiring. What can I say, I'm a sucker for romances between a royal prince and an ordinary girl. Cinderella is a classic for a reason ♥

Royally Screwed by Emma Chase (Audio Edition) Narrated by: Andi Arndt , Shane East Series: Royally #1 5 Stars - I really enjoyed this book!!! The whole prince in love with a commoner trope, did make me hesitant at first but I kept seeing these good snippets on Facebook around the book's release day and I just couldn't wait to read it. Nicholas was great, just arrogant enough but was still compassionate and had all the qualities one would want of a future king. Olivia was realistic and amusing. Together they shined. At one point in the book it was a “stop-everything-and-just-stand-in-the-middle-of-the-living-room-holding-the-vacuum-and-listen” kind of moment - which I loved …. A lot. The narrators did a fantastic job! This book is written in alternating first person points of view and having both a male and female narrator made it a wonderful easy listen. Very glad I bought this book and I am thoroughly looking forward to the next one in the series!

Royally Screwed is the first book in the Royally series and it is also the first book that I have read by Emma Chase, but now I want more. This is the story of Prince Nicholas of Wessco and Olivia, just plain Olivia who runs Amelias, a coffee shop that has the best pies in New York. Since the Queen has put Nicholas on a wedding watch, and only given him a small amount of time to find a suitable bride, he heads to New York to find his brother, who seems to be in some sort of trouble. Once there, a drunk Nicholas ends up in Olivia's coffee shop, liking what he sees, and not expecting a "no", but also not expecting a pie in the face. Ha, most women curtsy but not Olivia, she quickly puts the charming Prince in his place. Knowing that his mouth got him into trouble because of the alcohol, Nicholas has to go back to apologize to Olivia, and that is when he realizes that she is not only beautiful and sexy, but she is so different from the women he has known. Time is short for Nicholas and Olivia, but they are not willing to let go of one another just yet. Between paparazzi, security, the Queen, and well meaning friends, just being together is sometimes hard to do, as Nicholas and Olivia soon find out. And sometimes things are better let unsaid, as Prince Nicholas finds out, when he opens his royal mouth before thinking things through for himself. I loved this book, a fairy tale of sorts, with great characters that I cannot wait to read more about. I know that Henry's book will be fantastic because he is a character all on his own. I also hope that Ellie gets a book of her own. Five royal stars for this one, a very enjoyable read!!

An enjoyable romp through the fictional royal kingdom of Wessco. While I found this a lighthearted fun read, this offering from Emma Chase is vastly different from her two other more realistic comedy series. Much more fairy-tale themed than her others, this story mirrors a Cinderella story of poor and struggling Olivia, fighting to keep her family's business afloat and Prince Nicholas Pembrook of Wessco, looking to find his place in the royal lineage of his country. Enter a raging snowstorm in NYC and somehow a prince and his security team land themselves in Olivia's cafe, well known for its pies. Cue the royal romance... While I missed the laugh out loud comedy I found in Chase's Tangled books, I still look forward to the next two installments planned for this series.
