Ruger® 10/22® Complete Owner's and Assembly Guide
The Ruger® 10/22® Complete Owner's and Assembly Guide isn't like the other guides: its purpose is to give the new 10/22 owner a head start towards an in-depth understanding of the history, operation, maintenance, upgrading and use of his or her rifle, while providing the experienced owner knowledge that they don't yet have, with the intent of giving even the expert new insights into the 10/22. This book is the latest volume in the Scott A. Duff Publications' Guide series.

Before acquiring or enhancing your 10/22, have a plan. Set down the purpose of your rifle or carbine. Are you building for plinking? For hunting? Three-gun rimfire competition? The same considerations apply for changes or upgrades to your 10/22. It's fine to build or change a 10/22 "just because." But, consider the time and money you are going to invest in your 10/22, and if the change truly meets your needs and wants. In the guide we can't tell you what you should do, but we can show you what you can do!!

You will find a great deal of detail on the history, selection, disassembly, assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, magazines, upgrades and more. You will also gain an understanding of the principals involved in selecting upgrades, magazines, ammunition and more.

About the Author

Walt Kuleck
The Ruger 10/22 Complete Owner’s and Assembly Guide is Walt’s eighth Guide. Walt’s second handgun was, and is, a Ruger Mark I Target back when Ruger offered only two semiautomatic pistols: the Standard Model, and the Mark I Target. His respect for that little pistol led him to respond to a notice announcing the formation of the Ruger Collectors’ Association, which he joined in its initial year. He’s been “#97” ever since.

Walt’s previous books have focused on US Martial Arms of the 20th and 21st Centuries (and their civilian analogues): the M1 Garand, M14/M1A, AR-15 and M1911. Why, then, this book on a civilian arm? When Walt first wrote the original The AR-15 Complete Owner’s Guide, he asked Larry Weeks, Brownells’ writer liaison, what other platforms he should consider as subjects for future books. Larry suggested that Brownells had found that the three most popular platforms for parts and accessories were the AR-15, the M1911, and...the Ruger 10/22. Walt began to warm to the idea—after all, he acquired his first 10/22, the Chief AJ Special you see on page 50, in 1987; it still feels good in his hands.

Now you see the result of Larry’s suggestion of so many years ago: The Ruger 10/22 Complete Owner’s and Assembly Guide. Walt is a Benefactor Life member of the NRA, an emeritus Board member of The Garand Collectors Association, a Life member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association, and a charter and Life Member of the Ruger Collectors’ Association.
