You know how they say opposites attract? That was Everly and Max. He was VP of a porn production company and she was a law student and everything vanilla he never knew he was missing. Everly had a bucket list given to her by her grandmother and she was supposed to finish every item before she graduated. Max was going to help her. The closer they got, the harder it would be to walk away when the list was completed. This is a very thorough, entertaining and well-written story. For as unsure of herself as Everly was, she never had an issue with what Max did for a living.  Her parents kept putting the pressure on about school and becoming a lawyer until she broke. I applaud her for standing up to them. This was quite an enjoyable read.  Received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Rush by Gina Gordon Rush is a beautifully written story that peeks into the adult movie industry but is also a love relationship in the making. Everly thinks she has her whole life planned out until she meets Max. Her grandmother leaves her a bucket list that Max helps her check off one by one. Everly is not a free spirit and her grandmother’s last wish was to help her see who she could be and escape her parent’s clutches. Max is the heir to White Lace Productions; a multimillion dollar company. He is also living for his father and never stops to think what his wishes are for his life. Something happens to Max and Everly as the two check off items in her list. I love how Gina has the two different POVs so we get to hear the character’s thoughts. Gina’s telling of the adult film industry shows more than T&A and how it’s a real business with all the same problems any business faces. Max and Everly’s relationship was believable and their feelings moved in a realistic amount of time. I loved Rush very much and recommend it highly.  I was gifted this book in return for an honest review.

Reviewed by Marissa Book provided by NetGalley for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book This was really just a fun, cute book. Despite the porn movie angle, it ‘s not an erotic story line – although there were some good sex scenes. For this review, let’s start with the male lead, Max. I’m not sure how many men out there run a porn movie empire just because it runs in the family, and I’m even less sure how many men run X-rated production companies and really aren’t happy doing it. (Porn just seems to be one of those things you do because you love.) However, Max comes across as every man – that guy that does his job not because he likes it but because he’s good at it and it’s expected of him. I like that Everly is also doing what is expected of her, following in the family legal footsteps. Even though a part of her questions her future, she continues on because it is her future and she knows nothing else. But as a readers, we get a glimpse of what is in her heart, what she really wants to do with her life even if she doesn’t quite see it. I love those little secrets we get let in on. Both characters are personable and, while they don’t have the physical flaws I like to see, they are still quirky and likeable. These are the types of characters I cheer for. Even more than knowing they’ll end up together (no spoiler here – it’s an HEA), I want them to end up together and I’m happy for them when they make the final commitment.

4 star This is Everly and Max’s story. Max is a porn casting director.  Woman he meets are fake.  He is expected to take over the business from his father.  When he meets Everly the sparks fly.  Everly is on a bucket list journey.  Max is helping her check off items from the list her grandmother left her.  Can they help each other to realize that they can have a future?  There are decisions to make for both of them about not only the future they could have together but also their careers.          I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a good read.  I recommend this book.

4 stars Rush was such a good read. The storyline held my interest from the beginning and kept me turning the pages until the end.  The chemistry and connection between Everly and Max was off the charts, I highly recommend this book. I enjoyed Gina Gordon's writing and I'm looking forward to reading more in the near future.

First of all it was the incredibly sexy book cover that caught my attention. Then when I read the prologue and read ‘Everly Parker is about to graduate from law school and her grandmother left for her a bucket list of meaningful, can’t-miss experiences’, and then ‘searing-hot Max Levin bursts into her world. As a casting director for a porn production company, Max is loaded, cocky, and all wrong for Everly’ well right there I knew I had to read this book!  Max Leven was the very sexy hot VP and heir to White Lace Productions, the biggest producer of adult films in the country. His future was all set up for him. Max grew up with sex toys and naked women all around him. Growing up he was teased and taunted having parents in the sex film industry and used to being judged.  Everly Parker the ‘have to get an A+’ type student is weeks away from finishing her law degree. Her parents are both lawyers and expect nothing but top grades from her and for her to follow in their footsteps. Everly had no time for extracurricular activities. Everly’s grandmother had tried to get her to loosen up and live a little but to no avail. Her grandmother had passed away leaving Everly the deed to her house but there was a condition that she completes the bucket list her grandmother left her before she finished law school. Putting off her grandmothers request and finding herself entering her favorite café to study, Everly drops some books and its Max that bends down to help her pick them up. There is an instant attraction. When Everly finds out who Max is and his occupation, she pre-determines that Max is a player and way out of her league.  When Max reads her bucket list and decides to help her achieve each item as he wants to prove to Everly that he is not what she thinks he is. Max & Everly’s journey to complete the bucket list was fun, romantic, sexy and emotional. Like the characters I had a pre-conceived opinion what I though this story would entail and was pleasantly surprised and glad that I had it all wrong. P.S - Kleenex may be required towards the end of the book!  This is the first book I have read by Gina Gordon and I now have a new author to follow because I really enjoyed this story.  An advance reading copy of RUSH by Gina Gordon was provided to me from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Mild-mannered, soon to graduate from law school, plain Jane, too busy to breathe with newly acquired bucket  list Everly meets the smoking hot heir to, and former star of the largest porn empire in Canada, Max.  Come for  the premise – stay for the fun!  And this was a FUN story: far from dipping into what could have been a quagmire of sleaze with the porn connections, Max is funny, rich, a touch on the cocky side (no pun intended) and the only child and heir to a  thriving industry.  Everly’s life has been far different: both her parents are lawyers and dedicated to hard work  reaping rewards.  Everything Everly does is with an eye to her future career, until her grandmother dies and  leaves her a house and a bucket list that she is to complete BEFORE the end of law school.  Quite a devious and forward thinking grandmother here!  Told in alternating first person points of view, we see the characters as they really are, and get some insight on  the facades they project, as well as their own issues, insecurities and desires. It’s all on show, and to great effect.  Gordon doesn’t leave this as the only insight into the characters though: a host of secondary characters that are as compelling as Everly and Max, and have plenty to say about everyone!  Working through Everly’s grandmother-created bucket list present challenges and options for them both, and allow them to see futures of their own making, not just their parent’s expectations.  Yes – this did have some sexy moments and some funny moments, but never quite lost the heart or the honest emotions of the characters, even as you were laughing at study incentives or wondering just how long it took for  the bucket list ideas to come forward.  There’s very little not to like in this read in one sitting book, and trust me, porn has never been so funny!  I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility

Upon finishing, my initial reaction: DUDE. I just can't even express how amazing this book is! I read it in one sitting... I just couldn't stop. I was laughing and swooning so much, I just... wow. My Thoughts (full review): When you go into this book, you may think it's going to be some sort of lighthearted romance, but you're wrong. There was an unexpected depth to the story and both of our main characters. I picked it up one day thinking I would only read a chapter or two... it ended up being flipping impossible to stop reading. Everly is one of those girls who does everything just so, wanting to please her parents and spending her time buried in books instead of actually living. Which is why her grandmother gave her a bucket list to accomplish. She happens to run into Max after he meets with her roommates for a business meeting of sorts. She already has a wall up with him, but he wants to push past it, so he convinces her to go out with him so that she can cross one thing off her list (Go out with someone you’d never give the time of day.) She reluctantly does, and it ends up being a great idea because Max is determined to help her accomplish everything on the list. On the surface it seems like the two of them shouldn't even be together, but as they spend more and more time together, it becomes clear what they both really want in life. Everly begins to free herself from her comfort zone, and Max starts to think about what he wants his future to hold. Rush was an amazingly real and inspiring story. The messages contained give you something to think about. The extremely hot and sizzling moments Everly and Max share cause you to fan yourself--repeatedly, let me tell you... And the romance makes you believe in the possibility of love no matter what the circumstances that lead you there. I will absolutely be snagging up more novels by Gina Gordon! My Rating: Exceptional

This is a sinfully erotic romance that you will be staying up all night - guaranteed! What else would you get when you cross Porn Heir meets nerdy law girl ... sex, sex and more steamy sex! Gordon knocks it out of the park with the tale of Everly Parker and Max Levin, two characters whom you will instantly fall in love with. Both are just trying to be who they want to be, but life just keeps getting in the way. The chemistry and connection between the two is off the charts and Gordon knows how to make you want more ... The sex scenes are highly erotic, sensual and very dirty .... Gordon knows how to write .... Definitely a late night, must read!

I received a ARC through NetGalley for an honest review. Max Levin eats, lives, and breathes the porn industry. His parents started White Lace Productions over twenty years ago and soon it will be his. His mother was a famous porn star while his dad ran the company and he has always been surrounded by the business growing up. He was raised to take over this business but lately he hasn't been happy about what lies ahead.  One day when Max and his best friend Ben Lockwood go to an interview at a local cafe to meet with some escorts about becoming part of the porn industry he is thrown off of his game by a cute friend of one of the escorts who is studying for law school. It is the first time in months that he has been interested in the opposite sex and when she drops some papers he comes to her aid to pick everything up.  Everly Parker is the complete opposite than Max she is shy and very insecure about her sexuallity she has never had time for boyfriends or sports her number one priority has been studying so she can be a lawyer like her parents. She currently lives in her late grandmas' house since it is closer to school and it was her grandma who had always wished that poor Everly would live a little instead of studying all the time. She had even written up a bucket list for Everly and although her grandma had been dead for a few months Everly still hadn't crossed one thing off the list yet. So that day when she dropped her papers and the Sexy Max had picked up her papers she is totally distracted and starts to glance at her bucket list. After a few minutes Max cannot concentrate on the interview so he goes over to talk to the shy Everly, and that is when he sees the bucket list and tells Everly that he will help her check an item off the list to get her started. So Max set out to prove to Everly that there is more to him than what everybody thinks of someone in the porn industry, and so over the next few weeks after they continue to check off more and more on her list   Everly  finds that he is sexy, sweet, funny, kind and generous. But although she sees all this in him she still doesn't see the most important thing because both of them don't think they are good enough for the other. Will they both get their happy ever after? Will Max's family secret ruin everything? Will everly let what others say about Max ruin their future? Absolutely fell in love with Max and his determination and the effort he put into making Everly his number one priority. The journey to their happy was sweet and fun and above all else heartwarming with sizzle at the same time. You need to read this one.

This was such a different story and I loved it. Max is head of a porn movie company, working closely with his father and best friend. While in a coffee shop to interview to potential actresses, he literally runs into Everly, a law student. He is totally taken by her, something he hasn't felt in a long time, and stumbles across her "bucket list" that her grandmother wrote before she died. Max takes it upon himself to help Everly cross as many items off her list for the next 3 months before she graduates from law school. Somewhere in that time, the start falling for each other but they are from such different worlds, they can't seem to think it'll work. AWESOME read but I would expect nothing less from Gina Gordon! *I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

“I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Rush was funny and sexy, plus hot. Everly Parker and Max Levin are from different ways of life. Everly is about to graduate from law school and Max is casting director for a porn production company. Max wants to help Everly with a bucket list that her grandmother left her to complete before she graduates. That's when all the fun starts!!!

Everly has always done what she was supposed to. Her Grandmother leaves her a bucket list to complete before she finishes law school wanting her to take some risks. Enters Max, a guy Everly would never consider going out with until now. Entertaining and sexy. The chemistry between Max and Everly is scorching. A great read!

First, this book is HOT!!!! Panty-melting, steamy hot! However, if you aren’t comfortable with the more “creative” side of sex, specifically having to do with porn, and some exhibitionism, then I’d shy away.  The story line is pretty good, not super strong but enough to carry your interest and not feel like it’s all about the sex. Although, seeing as how Max is set to inherit a porn empire, it’s definitely a lot about the sex. The idea of the bucket list was really cute and it made me want to make my own.  Max is shallow but has depth at the same time. I’m not really sure how those can go together, but they do. He’s open minded to just about everything except when it comes to opening his heart. I get the guilt he feels at not wanting to disappoint his father by moving away from the industry and striking out on his own. When you’ve had the love and support of an amazing parent, it would be incredibly difficult turn your back on what they see as your birthright, what they’ve built and cultivated just for you. Max’s character is funny and likeable, and clearly sexy as hell. Everly is stuck in a similar situation to Max, not wanting to disappoint her parents. However, her motivation doesn’t come from love, it comes from being bullied and controlled. She’s pretty uptight, like monumental stick up her ass… So, watching her let go with Max is refreshing. It got a little frustrating to see them both fighting so hard against their feelings for each other, after a while I just wanted them to get over it already.  Their sweet and romantic moments melt your heart and you can see beyond who they believe they are to who they really are. Then of course, they are stripped bare (figuratively and metaphorically) between the sheets, and a whole lot of other places where you can get it on.  I loved the ending, particularly the cute epilogue, was satisfying and left me with a smile on my face. Probably not a reread for me, nut I definitely enjoyed it and would recommend it! I’d also love to read Bens story!

As a reader who considers the New Adult genre one of her favorites and has read many books in this genre, it takes a lot to set yourself apart from the crowded field. This book does just that and I now have another author to follow as Ms. Gordon's talent for crafting a strong story and memorable romance is on display here. From its intriguing blurb to its likable characters following an unexpected path this book won me over from the first page to the last. Everly Parker is the quintessential good girl who comes from a legacy of lawyers and whose career path is clearly written by tradition and her overbearing parents. She's a sweet and studious girl but shows flashes of wanting something more. After always believing in how her future was laid out she's now left in doubt, scared and a bit sad about what's to come. With a bucket list given to her by her beloved grandmother though she'll finally get to experience living and quite possibly find what makes her truly happy and feel alive. She's not doing it alone though as the Prince of Porn Max Levin joins her in her exhilarating and eye-opening journey to finding herself. The two of them might start out as unexpected friends, but as they grow closer and discover the truth behind the facade, you get a sweet yet steamy relationship that put a smile on my face. It's a rocky journey to HEA though as her parent's frigid relationship has left her jaded when it comes to love. To truly be happy she'll have to finally stand up for herself which had me rooting for her every step of the way. Max too has always known what his future was going to be as the heir to a porn dynasty. At first the thought thrilled him but lately it's all become blasé. The business is starting to leave him cold and the women no longer excite him. He's desperate to find something that excites him and meeting the strong-willed and natural Everly catches him by surprise to where thoughts of her consume him. Helping her with her bucket list puts them together in close proximity and allows them to finally be themselves. Not only does Everly see him as the good person he's trying to be but he starts seeing more to himself too. He discovers that he can contribute more to the world than just sex. Max was lovable from the start as he knew his faults and made no excuses for them. He came from loving and committed parents but the loss of his mother has him holding back as he doesn't want to experience the heartbreak of loss again. It left me sympathetic towards him and rooting for Everly to discover the sweet man beneath the sexy surface. This was a nicely paced book with characters that are depicted in a real way with banter that's entertaining and with issues that are understandable but stereotypical in romance books. The world of porn is vividly depicted too showing it in a positive light that I'm sure isn't always accurate but makes those who participate easier to relate to. The secondary characters are just as strong as the leads and are all in the sex trade which connects them in an intriguing way. Stella and Jade are Everly's escorting roommates and their fun-loving ways won me over. Max's director friend Ben and porn star Lance caught my attention as well with their playfulness and with the way the story ended I look forward to seeing more of all of these memorable characters. Ultimately this was a cleverly crafted book that has me looking forward to where Ms. Gordon takes us next.

I thought this one was awesome! The premise of the book is great and I fell in love with Everly and Max right away. Don't let the fact that Max is heading up porn empire fool you. The book is so much more. Yes, there are tons of red hot sexy times but the core story is a true romance. When do gooder Everly Parker and porn king Max Levin first meet there are definite sparks but she has no time and she's not his type. Then why can't he get her out of his mind. When he finds out she has a bucket list she's determined to complete, he seizes the opportunity to spend some time with her and help her complete it! I think everyone will enjoy this one, I definitely recommend it.

Read on April 21, 2015 Book Info  Kindle Edition Expected publication: May 12th 2015 by Loveswept ASIN B00N6PEWJQ other editions (1) Source:Netgalley EARC Book Buy Links  Amazon  B&N  BOOK SYNOPSIS In this edgy, sizzling romance for fans of Monica Murphy and Abbi Glines, a bad boy shows a straitlaced law student how to slow down and savor the good things. Everly Parker is about to graduate from law school, always busy, and can’t stop rushing through life. Her late grandmother left her a bucket list of meaningful, can’t-miss experiences, but she hasn’t completed a single one. Then searing-hot Max Levin bursts into her world. As a casting director for a porn production company, Max is loaded, cocky, and all wrong for Everly. Still, she’s tempted enough to cross the first item off her list: Go out with someone you’d never give the time of day. Inheriting a porn empire isn’t every guy’s dream (well, actually, it probably is), but Max isn’t complaining. It’s just that until he meets Everly, he has no idea what he’s been missing. As the pressure mounts to take over the family business, Max can’t help wondering what would happen if he chose Everly instead. So far, his life has been a wild ride, but only Everly promises the greatest rush of all: love. Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title. My Thoughts Everly Parker comes from a family who sets the bar high, especially her mother who expects her daughter to follow in her footsteps becoming a high powered attorney working for a world class firm upon her graduation from law school. Everly finds herself questioning this career for the first time in her life when she inherits her grandmother’s home and discovers a love for decorating that fulfills her in ways that the thought of practicing corporate law never did. Meeting Max Levin by accident in her favorite study spot when he is there to interview her two housemates, who are paid escorts, the attraction is not immediate on her part but scorching on his. Everly is everything Max is not, she is uptight, focused solely on the business of her studies and generally dresses plainly without frills or makeup. In effect the exact opposite of the kind of women he normally finds himself surrounded by, women whose obvious sexuality and love of having a good time override any other consideration. As someone who has not been exposed to the industry Everly naturally makes assumptions about Max and his family due to their pornography production company, White Lace. She assumes that Max is a spoiled playboy who views all women as a notch on his bedpost, especially since at first meeting he makes no effort to conceal his fascination with her body.  Not only is Everly proven wrong about Max but he is surprisingly proved wrong about his misconceptions of her as well as they get to know each other when he offers to help her with the Bucket List her grandmother asked her to undertake before she died. Despite opposition from her parents Everly continues to grow closer to Max, what started out as a simple exercise to open her eyes to the wonders of the world around her has become something much more personal for both of them. As they grow closer both law school for Everly and following in his father’s footsteps for Max to run White Lace no longer appeal to either one of them. However how do you find it in your heart to abandon a lifelong dream and hurt the ones who have made it their mission for you to achieve it? Not only that but what do you do instead? These are the issues that torment both Everly and Max throughout the story, with a few other issues that almost tear them apart for good. This is not the usual type of love story that I read that is for sure. This was however funny, serious, entertaining, sexy, informative and an all around lovely tale of two people who under different circumstances would have never gotten together.  Everly and Max worked well, polar opposites in many ways but in all the ways that count perfectly matched, it was a joy to see them fall in love and work their way to an HEA!
