CHAPTER 1

Addison

"Don't waste your time on that one," Janey yells into my ear so I can hear her over the deafening music in the club. "Roman's not interested in hooking up with you."

The steady pounding of bass must be distorting my best friend's words, because it almost sounds like she said the man who is executing gloriously indecent dance moves probably illegal in at least seven countries isn't interested in me. He might as well have "For a good time, call ..." tattooed on his forehead, and I have my finger poised over the send button.

Keeping my gaze firmly glued to him, I ask, "Did you say Roman wants to hook up with me?"

In my peripheral vision I see her chestnut waves move around her shoulders as she shakes her head. "No, I said he does not want to."

"Then why is he eye-fucking the shit out of me right now?"

"He's not even looking in our direction."

I glance over at her. "Not physically, but he's undressing me in his mind. I'm sure of it."

Janey rolls her eyes and takes another sip of her cosmopolitan. My gaze swings back to the uninterested sex machine in question like it's drawn by a magnet located somewhere in the vicinity of his crotch, and I inwardly sigh with exasperation.

I have this thing about getting my ego bruised: I don't like it.

But in the event it happens, I don't retreat into a hidey-hole to lick my wounds. Hell, no. I retaliate. I'm like a fucking honey badger. Everyone knows honey badgers don't give a shit, and neither do I. Because if you tell me I can't have something I want, I'll only fight that much harder to get it.

It's what makes me a great attorney — or what will make me a great attorney once I get the chance to prove myself. And making a name for myself — becoming successful while helping others unable to help themselves in our judicial system — is all I've ever wanted. Then maybe my parents will finally notice me. The real me.

Not the me who wasn't able to follow in my father's footsteps as an All-American Division I quarterback, or the me who preferred being captain of the debate team and job-shadowing our county DA instead of competing in the "scholarship programs" (aka beauty pageants) like my mother had me doing from the time I was two. I can't tell you how many times my mother has lamented the absence of reality TV back when I was growing up. "If Toddlers & Tiaras had been around twenty years ago, we would have been stars." Hell to the no. Doing our dancing monkey and momzilla act for millions of viewers does not a star make. At least, not one I care to be.

I worked my ass off in high school, graduated with a four-point-oh, and finished second in my class. My parents were disappointed. If I'd been first, I would have been valedictorian and been in the spotlight at graduation. My mom and dad could have turned to the people in the stands around them and proudly claimed, "That's our little girl." But second place is really just the first place loser. So my number one mission is to be number one in my field. To prove to them that success isn't measured in Heisman trophies and pageant tiaras alone.

The first step toward that goal is to quit my current job. One more month of being treated like a coffee-bitch without a brain by the misogynistic asshole — sorry, I mean senior attorney — who "mentors" me, and then I'm out of there. If it wasn't for the contract I signed committing me to at least one year of employment with the firm that gave me my internship, I would've junk-kicked the prick and peaced-out ages ago. Instead, I silently chant the number of days I have left, while sticking pins into my mental voodoo doll.

But that has nothing to do with the price of tea in China, or why I'm now formulating a plan to use my feminine wiles on the sexiest man I've ever seen for the sole purpose of making him want me before I "change my mind" and walk away.

Most days I'm a responsible adult, I swear, but I have just enough impetuous child left in me to be dangerous. Granted, this could totally blow up in my face, but right now, the honey badger in me just doesn't give a shit. When faced with a challenge, I'm willing to risk a little venom if it means I end up with a nice cobra dinner. In this case, said "cobra" — and the man I'm about to seduce just for funsies — is my best friend's boyfriend's best friend.

I know, it's kind of a tongue twister and takes a second to follow, but I'll explain.

Several months ago, I played a little trick on my BFF, Jane Wendall. She needed her bathroom sink fixed, so I told her I called a handyman, but actually ordered a "Handyman Special" from a place called Playboys 4 Hire. I'll give you one guess what their niche is. Anyway, Tall, Thor, and Handsome (yes, the man could be Chris Hemsworth's superhero double) made the house call and, once they got past the awkward (or hilarious, in my opinion) misunderstanding, she finally let him do a striptease for her and they ended up screwing like porn star bunnies. That led to a scorching sex-only fling, and before I knew it, she and Chance Danvers — aka Super Stud — are in a forever-love kind of thing and living in co-habitational bliss.

All thanks to yours truly. I'd given her the gift that keeps on giving. Obviously, I'm an awesome friend. So I don't think it's asking too much for Jane to hook me up with one of Chance's stripper buddies. But now she's telling me that the one I want has already decided he doesn't want to hook up with me? Oh, hell no.

Chance is off getting us more drinks, and his three bros — Roman, Austin, and Liam — are simulating sex on the dance floor with every female who rubs up against them like a cat in heat. Tonight is the official "friends meeting friends" thing for Chance and Jane, so I took extra care with my appearance. Okay, that has nothing to do with it; I always try to look my best, whether I'm at work, a club, or the gym. But I will admit to going a little more risqué than usual.

Because ... strippers.

I push my long, blond hair behind my shoulders, step back from the high-top table we're standing at, and reevaluate my choice in wardrobe. I'm wearing black, thigh-high, fuck-me boots, something deep purple that barely qualifies as a dress, and the tiniest scrap of underwear I own.

Because strippers!

So yeah, I was definitely hoping to do the walk of shame tomorrow morning, but if Janey's to be believed, I'll be doing a different kind tonight unless I choose a different guy. Problem is, from the moment we were officially introduced tonight, I had my heart (read: vagina) set on Roman.

I polish off my chocolate martini then return my attention to Jane. "Did I go too slutty, you think? Is he one of those wild boys who has a thing for women who look like schoolmarms because he likes the idea of defiling them in their ankle-length skirts and buttoned-up blouses?" Jane's eyes widen and her mouth drops open. I shrug. "I saw a porn like that once."

My friend's cheeks pinken. A few weeks ago, after three too many cosmos on Girls' Night, she confessed her affinity for online porn. I was shocked to hear that my goodie-goodie friend has a bigger deviant streak than me, but my pride overshadowed everything else. We high-fived and cheered and drank some more. Then she sobered up the next day and felt properly mortified, like the Janey I know. I just laughed and told her she should raise her freak flag high, but she still gets a little embarrassed about it. And what kind of best friend would I be if I didn't exploit that on occasion?

Janey places a hand on my arm. "No, you look great, it isn't that. It's just ..."

I narrow my eyes at her. "Spill it, Janey."

And because my sweet friend is nothing if not obedient (and more than a little buzzed right now), she does.

Apparently, Jane and her man had asked Roman to do a private strip show for me, like I'd arranged for her, and if we ended up having a "bonus dance," too — that's what the guys at P4H call it when they hook up with clients after a gig — more power to us. But their brilliant plan to give me a break from all the long hours I've been working lately for Dickhead was shot down before it ever got off the ground.

"He won't mess around with friends," Jane continues, "and that goes for friends of friends, too. He said that if something goes wrong, he'd be risking his friendship with me, which would get him an ass-kicking from Chance." A dopey grin spread over her pretty face. "Isn't that sweeeeeeeeet?"

A guy who puts his friends above his dick? (Metaphorically speaking. Not geographically or whatever, because that would be weird.) Yeah, it's surprisingly sweet, and that's not a word I'd typically associate with a man who lines his eyes with kohl, covers his arms in lickable tats and — as drunken rumor has it — has piercings in places that would make even the toughest man tuck front-tail and run. Add in the black hair that's styled to look like a woman ran her fingers through it, the five-o-clock shadow covering his square jaw, and the visible piercings — diamond studs in his ears and a silver ball in his tongue (have mercy!) — and Roman isn't exactly what I'd call a warm-n-fuzzy type.

Not only is his appearance contradictory to the whole thing, but the guy's nickname and stripper persona is "Ruthless." A word that literally means the opposite of anything sweet. I was instantly attracted to his alpha, bad boy looks, and this added intrigue factor of sweetness just upped his hotness quotient by a lot. My va-jay-jay was on board from Minute One, but now my brain is hopping on the Roman Express right along with it. Well, hello, you sexy, complex stud, you.

"Anyway, I'm sorry, but that's a no-go on Ruthless." She raises her eyebrows and gives me a pointed look, like she thinks I'm not taking her warning seriously. Which, in all fairness, I'm not. "Addison, have you heard a word I said? You're still staring at him like a starved lion at a steak. Give it a rest, girl. He has you on his no-can-do list. As in, he no-can-do you."

Janey laughs at her own joke, the alcohol making her adorably punchy. I've only had the one chocolate martini, enough to take the edge off reality and remove what little filter I have, but not nearly enough to impair my judgment. A conscious decision because, while I may be down with the occasional hookup, I always maintain the ability to think for myself and remain aware of the situation. See? I can adult sometimes.

I watch Roman leave the dance floor and head toward the hall that leads to the bathrooms, and I feel a wicked grin slide onto my face. Perfect.

"Shit," Jane mutters loud enough for me to hear. "I know that look."

Using a fabulous Southern accent, courtesy of my middle school drama club days, I blink my innocent doe eyes at her and say, "Well, I'm sure I haven't the faintest idea what you're goin' on about, Miss Janey Lynn." Lynn isn't her real middle name, but that's not important.

"It won't work, Addie. Chance says Roman has an iron will and never wavers once he's made a decision."

As soon as she says it, Jane winces. She knows she just waved a red cape in front of the bull. I wanted Roman when I was only interested in his body (and what he can do for mine). I wanted him even more when I found out he's not just a pretty face but has fun things like a moral code and sense of loyalty. And now that I'm being told I can't have him ... Well, see above honey badger reference.

"Challenge accepted." I cup my boobs to make sure the girls are looking their best, ignore my friend's protests, and head in the direction of where my cobra slithered off.

CHAPTER 2

Roman

Jesus, I need to get laid.

The last few months of my life have been one big shit-show at the office, and it's made me into a giant ball of pent up tension I can't seem to release, no matter what I do. My usual form of destressing — stripping with my buddies for horny suburbanites in their homes — hasn't done a damn thing to help. If it hadn't meant so much to Chance that I come out tonight, I would have stayed home and spent quality time with a bottle of Glenfiddich.

As I enter the men's room and head to a urinal to break the seal, I try to figure out what my deal is. I'd decided what to do about my career, so I should feel better. Usually once I make a decision, I feel more in control of life's variables, and the more control I have in any given situation, the more at ease I am. Leaving my dad's firm, where I'm thought of as "Bill's son" instead of my own person, to start my own practice with one of my law school friends is a huge risk, but one I'm looking forward to.

The only thing I can think of is that I haven't indulged in any of the "bonus dances" made available to me over the past few months. Several clients invited me into their beds, but I'd turned them down for reasons that still aren't clear to me. It's not that I wasn't attracted to them, or wasn't in the mood to fuck, because seriously, what kind of a man would I be if I wasn't in the mood to sink myself between a woman's legs? It's that I knew they couldn't offer me what I really want in a woman.

Don't ask me to explain what that is, exactly. As eloquent as I am when cross-examining a witness or delivering my closing arguments, I can't seem to put my deepest desires into words.

On the surface, it sounds simple. I want someone who enjoys being shared with another man on occasion. But if that were all, then I wouldn't have any problems finding it. There are plenty of girls who will fall all over themselves to experience a night with me and my two best friends — Chance Danvers and Austin Massey. Everyone has a good time. We give her all our attention and make damn sure we wring every last orgasm out of her before taking our own. (We're considerate like that.)

Not only are those guys my best friends since we were fifteen, we're also co-owners of a strippers-for-hire business that we started up during our college days. Sexually, the things we're into are different for each of us, but when it comes right down to it, we're all kinky fuckers. Like I said, my thing is sharing, and it's something the guys have been more than happy to help me out with for the better part of a decade. That is until Danvers fell in love with Jane and took up monogamy. That's cool, though. I'm really happy for them. Jane's a great girl, and we've become friends.

Which reminds me of the reason I won't be dipping my wick where I'd like to tonight.

Addison-fucking-Paige.

If you Google "man-eater," you'll get a GIF of her tossing her long, blond hair over her shoulder and leveling you with the same look an injured zebra sees seconds before the lioness lunges for its throat.

And it makes my cock hard as hell.

Like my friends, I'm a stereotypical alpha male. I'm dominant as fuck, and whether I'm in the courtroom or the bedroom, I'm always in control. My preferred sexual partners are submissive, obviously, but that doesn't mean I like them meek and automatically obedient. Where's the fun in controlling someone who wants to be ordered around? No, I'd much rather bed and tame a wildcat like Addison. One who enjoys the initial push and pull of dominance between us; who'll hiss, claw, and bite, making it all the more gratifying when she eventually submits and purrs at my slightest touch. That's what I call fun.

But it's still not enough to keep my attention long-term, not without the option of bringing someone else in. I want to control her pleasure in other ways, by dictating what happens to her and what doesn't. How she receives her orgasms and by whom. Maybe I join in, maybe I just direct; the choice is mine, and mine alone. That's the ultimate sexual high for me.

The thought of doing that with Addison is putting me even more on edge because I know I won't ever get the opportunity to screw her missionary-style, much less my style. She's Jane's best friend, which means as far as I'm concerned, she might as well be a nun. Too bad she's not dressed like one. It'd make things a hell of a lot easier on me. Instead she has on a dress that only covers her from ass to nipples. I'd had to go dance just to keep my gaze from zeroing in on her tits like a goddamned homing device.

Hello hot, entertaining fun! I loved this! Addison and Roman were awesome and I loved them coming together, they're animosity, and heated adventures. It was really exciting to read and I couldn't stop smiling. From the beginning I was all in and loved the push and pull between Addison and Roman. I loved their playful fight and how challenging they both could be. I loved watching them grow together and become closer as things played out. I enjoyed their vulnerable moments and openness as well. These two together where smoking HOT! I mean holy wow Batman! I think I saw flames! And yes, the sex was pretty spectacular but it was more than that. It was just two people working it out the best they could and falling in love. Roman seemed to be a complicated man with two sides but I got him and how he portrayed himself. He's super sexy and commanding and actually very sweet, super swoon worthy. I loved Addie and her tough as nails honey badger self. I love that she wouldn't let anyone walk all over her. It made for a lot of tension and a killer ending (in an awesome way). This was sexy and fun with just the right mix of emotions and playfulness mixed in. It's a light read for the most part but really well written with just the right amount of depth and character development. It’s told from first person dual POV and I thought it had a great flow and timing. I really liked the timeline and how everything was not instant and there was a real, growing relationship happening. If you need some sexy time entertainment with likable characters and a story that will leave you with a smile on your face, then your going to love this!

Ohhhh yeah!!!! Ruthless is some good ol' fashioned naughty fun with a side of "oops I fell!!!!" This smoking hot story is fun all around. It has a sassy honey badger heroine, a kohl wearing stripper with dual looks that could rival any fantasy, and an arrangement that is sure to make your clothes fall of in jealousy. I am feeling needy now. I jumped into this series with Ruthless and feel torn. I know I need to read Chance's story (Shameless)...but I'm dying for Rowdy's. Guess I will need to read one while waiting for the other!!!

Hot, steamy and sexy I want a Roman. My very own stripper yippee. Don't want his sharing demands I wouldn't share and I wouldn't want him to share me either, weird. Otherwise very good book.

Is it hot in here or is it just me? Because boy oh boy was this one sexy ride you guys! Who knew lawyers could be such a dichotomy of pure efficiency and raw sex appeal, but Roman and Addison pulled this off effortlessly. He's a buttoned up lawyer one moment and a sex God in the next, and she's a take-charge ball buster with a side of sex kitten. Together they are simply incendiary! While the chemistry between these two was intense and complete lust at first sight, the relationship aspects between them took awhile to build. I think this worked out well considering the fact that their personalities were as such that you knew they were a even match for one another right from the start. That scene in the alley at the beginning of the book...wow I can't even begin to tell you just how hot they are together, so I'm not going to keep trying, but definitely read this one for yourself because it is sooooo good!

Lots of passion and sparks between these two. Some tears along the way but they get their hea in the end.

Another fantastic read by Gina L. Maxwell! I love this series (Ruthless is the second book in the Playboys in Love Series) and can be read as a stand alone. This author writes a steamy story but its not just sex. The book has a great story & her characters are so interesting. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Sexy hot, arousing, and funny!!...5+stars! Ever since the first book, Shameless, I’ve been in love with this series. The wait for Addison’s story is well worth it. Addison Paige is Janey’s feisty BFF who ordered up the Thor look-alike handyman who happens to be a stripper with Playboys 4 Hire. Now, she finally gets to meet the rest of the crew of P4H, and she’s got her sight on “Ruthless.” Only to be told “Ruthless” is off limits as he doesn’t involve himself with friends of friends. Well, that’s like waving a red flag to her “honey badger” determination: working hard to get what she wants if told she can’t have it. So funny to watch Addie at work on her challenge of seduction to get Mr. sex machine! Favorite tongue twister line: “..the man I’m about to seduce just for funsies is my best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend.” Love it! Roman Reeves is a successful lawyer by day, and a hot, badass stripper by night. He’s the quintessential Dominant who has particular tastes, loves control and has a penchant for sharing. He never expected Addie to show up as the new junior attorney in his law firm. And Addie is equally surprised. After their back alley tryst, both Roman and Addie can’t deny the attraction and chemistry that sizzles between them. Keeping it professional and keeping their affair under wraps is the hardest thing for these two. But Roman introduces Addie to his darkest desires, and watches Addie come alive with everything he shows her. Ruthless is the second book in the Playboys In Love series and it’s become one of my favorite series by far. Ms. Maxwell infuses so much humor in her stories, and her characters are so well drawn. This story is well written, uniquely funny and seriously romantic. Oh, and the smexy goodness is off-the-charts hot. I love Roman and Addie, they are such a great match. I highly recommend this book for all fans of romance, it’s a must read. I can’t wait for Austin’s story. I received a copy from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley. I voluntarily review an ARC copy of this book.

I just love Gina and this book proves why. So well written! This book is about Addie who has her sights on Roman who is hands off as he's her besties man's bestie. As soon as she hears she can't have him, she wants him more. Roman really wants Addie but it's against his friend rule. But he can't resist her and has an amazing sexual encounter. Weeks later, Roman is still thinking about Addie, something he's never done with another woman. When Addie finds Roman is her boss, she knows he's really off limits but they just can't keep their hands off each other. Such a steamy read. I can't wait to see who we'll read next...Austin or a new series with Addie's cousin, Sam, who plays in the NHL! My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read .

Describe this book in nine words: Raw and naughty on the razor’s edge of tragedy. I normally would focus on the hot and sexy of a smutty book like this because HOT AND SEXY! There is nothing bad when those two things hang out together. And it’s enough to turn my head every time. The true value of this novel isn’t steam related in anyway-- but I will reiterate, it’s high on steam. Gina L. Maxwell interjects a heart wrenching undertone to Ruthless I think many erotic novels get snipped out in editing or overshadowed by inserted sensual scenes. In this second Playboys in Love novel Gina L. Maxwell stunningly retains a level of dark truth about broken relationships that plague the psyche of lovers throughout time. And she does it masterfully. Roman Reeves is one of those lovers a woman can define her every weakness and broken hope by. He’s a man of influence, a lawyer who likes to win. A man of stature who must always maintain an air of respect. Restricting his demeanor for public consumption has cleaved him in half, burying his real needs and wants deeply into an alternative world. His life has become a sleight of hand and a bald face lie. He has sacrificed a little on both sides to find a modicum of peace that leaves him feeling empty. He’s twins in one body: Roman--analytical and cold; Ruthless, the persona that can feel and live. A half life that can’t reconcile a personal relationship on a meaningful level for fear his dark side will devour and incinerate anything that gets too close. A friend of a friend and his new lawyer hiree, Addison won’t turn away from the things that might scare her. She burns for experiences that will allow her to touch danger. She wants to be pushed, starving for something that she can conquer and revel in. Her tragedy is that loving a man like Roman is like touching a star. The difference between what she sees and what she gets is no less than an ocean of tears. Let me tell you, the heart wrenching moment when Addison realizes she has walked into her own destruction is so crushing that I felt it too. Fear not, my little pervs! The under arching emotional plot construction isn’t so heavy that it will weigh you down from the sexy times. Some people won’t even feel it. Ruthless is different than Shameless in that the erotic parts aren’t a steady diet of kinky degradation. Roman’s fetish is uniquely his; the only time he can be himself--be honest. I think he likes what he does to some extent because he needs that part of him to be validated. He likes witnesses to the most vulnerable part of him. And the guy is hot and sexy. HOT AND SEXY. HOT and SEXY. SEXY! HOT. Addison is a genuinely likeable ball buster. I feel that her finest moments are when she lets down her shields and allows herself to shatter. It gave me a chance to find the strength in her character. The storycrafting is phenomenal and the telling stellar. I loved Shameless but this book feels like it is built on a more solid foundation. I really can’t wait to read Austin’s story. I don’t know if she can write another one of these gems but I hope so. If you like this then definitely pick up the first book Shameless. Also L.A. Fiore’s Beautifully Damaged or Penelope Ward’s Roomhate if you want to branch out.

Rating: 3.5/5 Not having read any other books by the author before, I was really intrigued with the synopsis of this book and of the swoon worthy cover! At the beginning of the book we get to meet Roman, a very successful attorney and a stripper. Though he has the job that he loves, it's his ruthless nature and sexual appetite that often gets him in trouble with the women that he meets. But it is his rule of no messing around with any of his friend's friends that has him on edge, especially when he meets Addison. Their chemistry from the start is one that they can't ignore, they know what their friends are going to think, but working together has them around each other constantly which doesn't help at all. No matter how hard Roman tries to put Addison on his off-limits list, she challenges him like no one has before and that he sets to make her his no matter what. For Addison being confident is one of her strengths, as a junior attorney for a major law firm she has been used to deal people challenging her all the time. Yet Roman is a different type of challenge that she can't pass, and soon she finds herself flirting with the guy that turns out to be her new boss. Needless to say the more time they send with each other, the more she begins to develop feelings for him that may or may not end up hurting her in the end. I very much enjoyed just how much chemistry the characters have. They are different yet the same in terms of wanting to challenge one another to get what they want. Although the story had strong moments, I was on the fence with Roman's character in pats of the story. The story as a whole is good, but it didn't wow me as I would have liked. All in all, Ruthless was okay for me, the ending was good and I do think people would really like it. I would still recommend it and I will most definitely be checking out more of the author's works in the future. ;) ***ARC provided for blog tour purposes in return for an honest review.***

3.75 stars--RUTHLESS is the second installment in Gina Maxwell’s contemporary, adult PLAYBOYS IN LOVE erotic, romance series focusing a tight knit group of male friends who have formed ‘Playboys 4 Hire’-an after hours all-male strip group for hire. This is attorneys Roman ‘Ruthless’ Reeves, and Addison ‘Addie’ Paige’s story line. RUTHLESS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. NOTE: RUTHLESS is an erotic story line that contains scenes of M/F/M sexual situations including voyeurism, ménage and sharing partners. Told from dual first person perspectives (Roman and Addison) RUTHLESS focuses on the building relationship between Roman Reeves, and Addison Paige. By day, Roman Reeves is a high powered attorney working for his own upstart law firm; by night our hero is Ruthless, an exotic dancer for hire with one rule, and one rule only-he doesn’t date friends or friends of friends. When his partner at the law firm hires a new attorney, Roman comes face to face with his last one-night stand. Enter Addison Paige, his best friend’s wife’s friend, and the woman who makes him break all of his rules. What ensues is the developing romance between Roman and Addison; and the fall out when mistaken beliefs and a lack of communication interfere in the growing relationship. Roman’s sexual proclivities extend towards the kink, and there is never a repeat or second time. Addison is a woman whose attraction to Roman finds herself accepting all that is Roman Reeves, including a relationship where another man is part of the scene. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense. There is plenty of back and forth banter between all of the story line characters. We are re-introduced to Chance and Jane (Shameless #1), as well as Austin Massey, the third member of the Playboys 4 Hire. Austin will enter the relationship between Roman and Addison, a relationship that will be destroyed when jealousy and anger override one man’s sexual desires. The world building looks at the professional lives of Roman and Addison as they struggle to keep secret their after-hours affair, and as they battle the growing love between one another. Work place romances are difficult but mistaken beliefs push Addison out of Roman’s life and into a world of heartbreak and hurt. RUTHLESS is a sexy, provocative and fateful story line of two people caught between desire and love, want and need. The premise is imaginative; the characters are spicy and impulsive; the romance is energetic and intense.

Oh sweet baby Jesus, this book! I devoured it in a matter of hours. It was my first book by this author, but it definitely won't be my last. When I first started it, I was a little unsure if I was going to be able to get into it. I sort of felt like the premise was one that was overdone and I was sort of bored with it. Another forbidden office romance. Yawn. And his "I don't sleep with friends of friends" rule. Lame. So not forbidden in my book. Then, like divine intervention, the clouds parted and light shone down from the heavens and all my senses perked up. Ménage you say? YES PLEASE! Please forgive me for doubting, you have my full attention now. It even gets better! Roman is a sexy lawyer by day, with a badass stripper alter ego by night with tattoos and a piercing I had to Google to find out exactly what it was. HELL YES. Then Addison, God bless her fiery spirit, put Roman in his place, called him on his seriously weak excuses and things got seriously HAWT. I did find the plot line and Roman's character a little bit predictable, but in the end I didn’t care because it was exactly what I wanted from the story. Even when you see the train wreck about to happen, you still can't look away, right? I thoroughly enjoyed watching Addision teach Roman a thing or two, put him in his place and bring him to his knees. Atta girl!

Ok, warning, keep your fire extinguisher, ice pack, or cold shower nearby. This book is freaking HOT! Roman and Addison are explosive and so delicious in every scene they are in. She kept him on his toes and challenged him every step of the way. In return, he fueled all her sexual desires and then some. They were an entertaining pair for sure. I loved her sass and gung go attitude. Roman was hot, wickedly dirty, and yet tender with her. This story flowed very well and kept me wondering what filthy fun they would get to next. I loved all the secondary characters and hope Austin gets his own story soon. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

I may have been a Gina L Maxwell virgin going into Ruthless, but she has made me a freaking lifer. This book was EVERYTHING. Kinky. Delicious. Sexy. Intriguing. Stunning. See? Told you. It's everything I was looking for. The fresh voice, and uniquely smart-assed and quippy characters make for one hell of a read. Addison and Roman are one ballsy couple. She's tough with a melt-y center reserved for Roman only, and he's implacable and guarded with a teeny tiny sweet spot that Addison makes burn brighter. They're not relationship people. But together they're just sublimely sensual and fun. A cat and mouse duo with nothing but pleasure in mind for their endgame. He resists. She tempts. They combust. A quite typical formula, but with the special spark Ms. Maxwell delivers, Ruthless became a world of characters I wanted to revel in. This book is a must-read. With a hint of menage, downright lovable and endearing characters, a sturdy and well-versed story and tons of heat-pounding sex, Ruthless has edged it's way into my to-be-read-again pile and I'll be needing more of these sexy Playboys in Love men! Happy Reading! *ARC provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

Just like the first book in the series, this was an easy hot read. Roman and Addison are the best friends of the main characters from book one. There is a definite attraction from both sides and it was interesting to read how each one would act on it. I did enjoy the time that Roman and Addison spent together in regular settings-they gained a great rapport and I could sense the dramatic progress of feelings. It was nice to see their interactions together and the progression of their relationship. Gina had me hooked on how it would all play out. While this wasn’t a bad read, there were some parts of the story that I didn’t gel with-this was more due to my preferences than anything else. This was a quick nice read. I really liked the characters-they were great. Just like book one, they are what kept the book interesting. I am intrigued by Austin and I’m hoping that his book is next.

I loved this one! It's really hot so make sure to have an ice cold drink handy. Trust me you'll need it. Roman is delicious and he a few surprises. The chemistry between him and Addison is off the charts. Roman doesn't touch friends or friends of friends, but when the attraction is as explosive as it is between him and Addison he can't help, but touch. Things get a little complicated when business comes into play. Can Roman break the rules when it comes to Addison or will he let the best thing ever happen to him slip away?

Hot! This is a fast paced steamy read with great characters and steamy sex. Gina did a great job of weaving this hot read in to a steamy love story. I loved it!
