For anyone who is thinking of getting a guinea pig or who already has one this is a perect read a loud for any age. It has also has beautiful illustrations and stays true to the guinea pig personality!
Sammy is a guinea pig that is kept in a classroom. One day, Sammy wheeked very loudly to get everyone's attention. Ms. B and her students try to figure out what's wrong with Sammy. He made happy chirps when everyone was around him. They realized that he was just happy to see everyone! In the back of the book there is a page with facts about guinea pigs. Being a guinea pig owner myself, I really enjoyed this book, but I am sure that all children ages 5 and up will love it as well. Guinea pigs are fun pets, and this book helps to point out that fact!
5 Stars, but one critique: I though Sammy could have used a couple piggie pals.
