Never have a one-night-stand with a shifter.

1) They're intense, growly lovers and they bite—hard
2) You risk them claiming you as their "fated mate" and never leaving you alone again
3) Even if you manage to get rid of the guy, you might be carrying his baby

Gwyneth knew better. She could tell right away that Doug was a shifter, but it didn't matter. He was too hot to let go. One night of fun never hurt anybody, right?

Well, she was right about one thing—it was only one night.

As soon as Doug knew Gwyn was pregnant, he did what any douchey, malcontented, irredeemable shifter would do—he ran fast and he ran far.

But when his inner mountain lion drives him back into Gwyn's arms, Doug learns that danger waits at every turn. Wooing his mate and learning how to be a good father are the least of his worries.

Savage Penance is a standalone novel in the Fierce Mates: Corona Pride series. If hot, bad boy shifters make you howl and smart, resourceful heroines make you happy, one-click Savage Penance for some hot sexy tension and heart-melting romance.

I enjoyed Doug, Gwyn and Caleb's story. I liked that Doug grew by the end of the book and was there for Caleb and Gwyn. This was my first book by this author and it won't be the last because this kept my attention and I enjoyed the story. This is the seventh book in this series and do yourself a favour read them all even though you don't have to to follow this story. We have met Doug in a previous book and he wasn't the nicest person should we say. Here is his story with Gwyneth (Gwynn)she is a witch and should have known better than to get involved with cougar shifter but he was just to hot to ignore but it didn't surprise her that he ran when he found out she was pregnant now three years later she is living away from her coven with her three year old son Caleb, when her coven finds out where she is she knows she needs help so she calls on the last person she would ever expect to call Doug. Meanwhile Doug has changed and grown up he has been watching his brother with his daughter and it has had him wondering about his son. He is already on his way to Gwynn when he gets her call for help so now not only does he have to work out his feelings for Gwynn bond with his son but also keep them safe from the coven after them. Keeping them safe means taking them to his family where Caleb gets to meet shifters like him for the very first time.

Gwyneth knew better but he too hot to let go and one night of fun never hurt anybody, right? Doug did what any irredeemable shifter would do when he found out his one night stand was pregnant – he ran. When his inner mountain lion drives him back into Gwyn’s arms, he discovers that learning how to be a father is the least of his problems. This 'Corona Pride' story is an emotionally gripping and suspenseful romance that keeps readers holding their breath in anticipation throughout. The characters are strong, compelling and easily pull readers into their story and the chemistry between Gwyn and Doug sizzles with lots of heat but chemistry isn’t everything and being a typical guy, Doug, let his fear of commitment get in the way of his mating, but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t have valid reasons, so their lots of turbulent emotions flowing from the pages as well. The story is fast paced and while on the short side, the story is packed full of suspense and excitement, not only in the relationship area but Doug’s son has caught the attention of some witches that are determined to use his power as their own, adding lots of danger to the story. This ‘Fierce Mate’ romance is one that readers will get a chuckle out of as well some edge of the seat thrills with a bad boy and a ‘doesn’t have to have a male around’ heroine.

This is book seven in the Fierce Mates: Corona pride. Gwyn is a witch and her son, Caleb, is half witch and half mountain lion shifter. The shifter part comes from a one night stand with Doug who left her. There is an excellent and entertaining storyline with lots of shifting, magic, danger, and deceit. The characters are vivid and memorable. Excellent read! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I couldn't put it down! I literally read the whole thing in one sitting, which is unusual for me. The story just pulled me in and held on tight, and I was powerless against it! Though this is book 7 in the series, I don't think you need to read the previous books to enjoy this one. But you should. Because this series is awesome! Doug was a bad guy in previous books. Like, a real jerk. But this story painted him in a different light. I enjoyed reading how he continued to evolve throughout the story, and I loved how he was with Caleb and Gwyn. Gwyn was really cool. She's a witch, but she is endearing because she has doubts and shortcomings like we all do. She's very independent and can totally take care of herself and her son, but she was also strong enough to ask for help when she needed it. These two knew each other from years ago (I won't tell you how!) and they have a common. Though they were hesitant to reconnect in any way, they soon found the pull towards each other impossible to resist. And when they collided, HOLY SMOKES! Liza is just such a master of imagery. I always feel like I'm right there in the action-packed stories she writes, and I can't wait for the next book!!! (I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)
