Saving Mr. Perfect is the second book in the Penelope Blue series. While you can read them as a stand alone I would read them in order. The author does a fantastic job of creating fascinating characters & an interesting story. I am looking forward to the next book in this series! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

'Saving Mr. Perfect' by Tamara Morgan is book Two in the "Penelope Blue" series. This continues the story of Penelope "Pen" and Grant. I do feel that you should read the previous book "Stealing Mr. Right" first. Pen has given up her life of crime but its not so fun being a housewife. But there is a new theft in town it seems...but some think is Penelope back at it. But Grant knows differently and Pen is starting to think it might be her Step-Mother who is back in town. Pen goes forward with trying to solve the mystery of who is doing these thefts. This is a real exciting read with some mystery to it along with a few funny parts. Can't wait to read the next installment in this series."My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Loved this book! This is a fun cat and mouse mystery that had me guessing until the very end - there were twists and turns that I never could have predicted. Penelope is a reforming (sort of) jewel thief married to Grant, an FBI agent...what could go wrong with that? Despite being very much in love, they are both keeping secrets from each other while each tries to protect the other. Grant is particularly worried about Penelope because there is a thief steeling jewels all around the city while making the FBI think that it's Penelope committing the crimes. Penelope decides to investigate the thefts herself and to try to smoke out the real thief. However, nothing goes as she predicts and she finds herself in a very uncomfortable position. This one kept me turning pages just as quickly as possible, yet sorry when it ended. Fans of the genre will love this book and will want to put it at the top of their TBR list.

The FBI and a Jewellery Heist 3.5*. This is the second book in a series and I think I would have got more out of it, if I had read the first. I did find it difficult to believe that an FBI agent could marry a jewel thief without being either forced to resign, or at the very least be seriously demoted/transferred to an area where he wasn't investigating jewellery thefts. I also had trouble getting into the relationship between husband and wife where their marriage is described as an "endless game of cat-and-mouse". All the above interfered with my enjoyment of the book but by the latter half I was more in tune with the writing style, the story itself picked up pace and I became more invested in the characters. The ending was a big surprise, which I didn't see coming. I would be happy to read more books by this author. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

I seem to have a soft spot for these Penelope Blue books. I'm pretty methodical when it comes to selecting the books I read. I hate it when I get one I don't like, so I'm very selective. The thing with Stealing Mr. Right, was that it didn't meet any of my usual book criteria, and I was STILL dying to read it. So I did. And I loved it. Naturally, I couldn't wait for Saving Mr. Perfect to come out. I wasn't disappointed. I was laughing within minutes, and had to put the book down so my husband could sleep. This book is different though. It's more heartfelt and not as crazy. Don't read this book for the romance. Read it for the laughs, the banter and a bit of a crazy mystery. Don't start with Saving Mr. Perfect. Start with Stealing Mr. Right. Relationship growth is a big plotline in this book and you have to understand Penelope's relationships with people in the first book to see how they've changed (and how devastating it is). I think people that enjoyed the early Stephanie Plum books will feel right at home with Penelope Blue. I received an advance reader copy of this book that I have chosen to review.
