Savor You (Fusion Series #5) by Kristen Proby

USA Today Bestseller!

In the next sizzling romance in Kristen Proby's New York Times bestselling Fusion series, two celebrity chefs compete in a culinary competition, but resisting each other will prove to be the greater challenge.

Cooking isn't what Mia Palazzo does, it's who she is. Food is her passion . . . her pride . . . her true love. She's built a stellar menu full of delicious and sexy meals for her restaurant, Seduction. Now, after being open for only a few short years, Mia’s restaurant is being featured on Best Bites TV. To say Seduction is a wild success is an understatement. All the blood, sweat, tears, and endless hours of work Mia has put into the restaurant has finally paid off.

Then Camden Sawyer, the biggest mistake of her life, walks into her kitchen . . .

Camden's celebrity chef status is world-renowned. He's the best there is, and the kitchen is where he's most at home. He can't resist the invitation to Portland for a showdown against Mia for a new television show. Mia was in his life years ago, and just like before, he's met his match in the beautiful Italian spitfire. The way she commands the kitchen is mesmerizing, and her recipes are clever and delicious. He's never had qualms about competition, and this is no different. He can't wait to go head to head with Mia. But can he convince her the chemistry they share in the kitchen would be just as great in the bedroom as well?

As Mia and Camden face off, neither realizes how high the stakes are as their reputations are put on the line and their hearts are put to the ultimate test.

4.5 Stars I’m a little upset with my booky friends for not telling me that I MUST read Kristen Proby – I adored this book and can’t believe I’ve gone so long not knowing her work that I’ve got a bunch of “catch up” to do. But for my introduction I got to read Mia’s story, the last in this series of five women, friends and business partners in the restaurant Seduction in Portland. Mia’s been tapped for a new competition show on THE up and coming food network, and while she’s not wholly enthusiastic, she’s ready to give it her best. But when she discovers that her competition is Camden, her first love and worst mistake, she’s not sure she can do this. Embarrassed by her behavior some ten years earlier, struggling with her own self-esteem and worthiness after a few pounds and more than a few explosive moments in her kitchen leave her working ALL the shifts with help she really can’t rely on, and Camden being sexier (if possible) than he was years ago – she’s in tumult. Camden only signed on to the show to work with Mia – the girl he compares everyone else to with her curvy frame, her boldness when cooking and her laugh. He spent the past ten years building a reputation and becoming the hottest celebrity chef on the planet, all while keeping tabs on Mia’s progress and dealing with the hurt from years ago when she left. From years of feeling not “quite” enough, her mother’s subtle (and not so) digs about her weight, and her own low self-esteem – Mia is a control freak. Everything has a place, a way to be done, and everyone around her can’t help but see her work ethic and need to have things just so…a perfectionist who needs her cooks to jump on the train and do things her way. When Camden comes into the picture – their attraction is instant, but he’s also constantly and consistently working to show her she’s fantastic, sexy, pretty and above all – someone that people want to be around. Even before coffee. Maybe. So flippin sweet – Camden and Mia both have issues that need working through, and to talk about the reason they first split – but even more important to Camden is to show Mia that she is worth it. In every way. Sexy, sweet and clever – Mia’s internal back and forth is something everyone can relate to – no one is solidly in the “I am great and everyone should love me” at all times, and while there was a bit more weight obsession for Mia here than I wanted to see, she’s not someone who yo-yo diets or deprives herself - the food (even simple brownies and ice cream) become a delight for readers. Sexy, steamy and with an epilogue that brings all of the characters together to show the progress, success and laughter that has withstood business, relationships, children and time – it’s a lovely story bringing all of the happy endings that every romance reader needs. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via Edelweiss for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Sweet, considerate, sexy men are unicorns and Mia found hers in Camden...then she threw him away. Ten years later the former couple, now both successful chefs, find themselves forced to work together on a t.v. food competition show. Mia’s personality is a little prickly and she’s a lot insecure about her weight, but Camden sees past all of that to the passionate, kind, desirable woman underneath. It doesn’t take long to realize the strong connection they shared still exists and sparks fly! Kristen Proby has a way of writing her interconnected books that make you want to be a member of their tight knit group, to be besties with the fun loving women and marry all the ridiculously delicious men. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to the amazing couples at Fusion, but the epilogue provides a satisfying, full circle conclusion to the series.

I was so excited for Mia and a whole lot of sass! But Kristen did an amazing job at making her strong but a sweet sensitive person too. And oh my... if I could have a man that made me cheesecake I would be in heaven!

I really thought the author was going somewhere good with all the talk of Mia's weight, but time and again people fat shamed Mia in front of her friends and they all just seemed okay with it. I was especially disappointed that Mia's parents would speak to her the way they did. And for all the talk of how sweet Camden is, it did not make sense for him to make a snide comment about Mia's bad mood in front of her employees.

## Loved the other books. This one, not so much. It was defintely my least favorite. I didn't really like Mia. And way too much time devoted to her weight issues. Annoyed me to no end. I highly recommend the previous books in this series. Not this one however.

I loved this latest installment to the Fusion series. I liked the fact that Kristin Proby ended this series by letting us readers know what transpired 5 years later. I enjoyed every book in the Fusion series and am sorry to see that it has come to an end.

Ms. Proby heats up the kitchen and bedroom in this one, folks. As always, I find her writing style very engaging. Considering this main couple parted ways ten years earlier, I’m not surprised, but my avid romantic heart can’t help but be disappointed they were not celibate after originally being together. Though Camden admits he’s never had a serious relationship since her, why, oh, why, couldn’t their separation have been shorter so reconciliation and celibacy could have both been included. At least the people in between that time were not discussed/flaunted in our face. There really is no mention of Mia’s love life during this time span. Mia is beautiful, witty, and culinary talented, but carries around guilt from a past well intended, but knucklehead decision, along with her weight insecurity issues. Camden is instantly still drawn to her upon seeing her again and vice versa. Mia had the excuse of being too young and naive in dealing with their former situation, but I can’t shake the feeling Camden should have manned up and fought for love from the get go. Of course, we are eventually given his perspective that explains why he didn’t. This was a sweet romantic read where the main couple seem to fall right back into each other’s arms. If you enjoy epilogues, there is one included that takes you five years into the future. Title: Savor You, Series: Fusion (Book 5), Author: Kristen Proby, Pages: 288, stand-alone but part of a series, some very steamy scenes, second chance romance, 10 year separation where he is not celibate, no specific info on her, beautiful heroine with size/weight insecurities, both are chefs, romance safe after reuniting (no cheating/no OW/OM drama/no love triangle.) (These comments are based on a library edition.)

This one was just ok for me. I really thought it was boring in many parts. I thought there was too much minute detail and then it seemed to skip huge chuncks of time. Definitly not as good as the rest. I guess its good this series is done. On to the next

SAVOR YOU was such a sweet, flirty little joy to read! I can even tell you how I will miss this series! I’ve read every one of these books and they steal apart of me every time. This one, in particular, had me biting at the chops to devour. Yes, I sure did! What can I say other than it all my girl boxes? Just like a perfect hug that sealed the deal! Making it a must read for me.

What a great end of a great series. This book was about second chance love. Ten years ago their marriage didn't last and now they find themelves working together. Mia and Camden were so young when they were first married. Mia never knew that Camden loved her. She thought he married her because of the baby. But when she found d out about the false positive result she ran. Now 10 years later and she realizes that what she felt for Camden never went away. It's like they needed this time apart to grow and then finally be together. Their story is so beautiful and Kristen proby tells it I a way that you fall in love along with them. Camden never stopped loving Mia and is was so amazing watching him shoe her how much he loved her. He was nev er good at say g how he felt he always thought actions spoke louder the words. They have such chemistry together. Their physical relationship was off the charts but they were so much more. He was never the type of guy to cuddle but with Mia that's all he thought about. When he wasn't with her he missed her. Mia is strong and independent woman. Queen of her kitchen. She is passionate of her. cooking and will not accept anything else of the people who work for her. She allows Camden in where no one else has ever been. He gets her like no one else. Their story will have you glued to each and every word unable to put down. Kristen Proby has a way of grabbing you from the first page and taking you on a journey of a lifetime. Her stories are just that good.

In Kristen Proby’s newest release, Savor You, this standalone novel takes you back into the delicious world of Fusion for the long awaited story of Mia and Cameron. Cameron, a drop-dead gorgeous celebrity chef who happens to be Mia’s ex-husband from cooking school, has been selected to be the first chef to face off against Mia in her new TV series. This forces her to confront all of her demons about her self-image in an accelerated rate that leaves her vulnerable, feisty, and ready to carve into someone with one of her precious cooking knives. One of the brilliant themes I’m noticing about Ms. Proby’s work this year is that she’s facing difficult women’s issues head on and translating them beautifully into realistic stories that pull at your heart strings. Her heroines are incredibly relatable to issues we see woman of today go through; in this case due to Mia being a knock out plus size woman who constantly deals with society’s image of perfect for Cameron. Keep writing strong, beautiful women who set the world on fire, Ms. Proby and I’m certain your readership will continue to savor them. Just like they will this book!

Favorite Quotes: Marry him right now. Sweet, considerate, sexy men are unicorns. You’ll never see another one of them out in the wild. I know. I looked. You two are ridiculously good looking… Is that a requirement to be a firefighter or EMT? That you have to be hot so you can make calendars and bring in a bunch of money in calendar sales? My Review: I can see what all the fuss was about. But I was horrified to realize I have lived this long without ever indulging in the hedonistic delight of reading a Kristen Proby book. But I have rectified that error in judgment and am thrilled to report the experience was everything I imagined it would be and more. Her writing was a fun, cleverly amusing, and tasty treat. The storylines were entertaining, well-paced, and a pleasure to engage in. I adored her quirky yet relatable characters and enjoyed their clever banter and wit as much as the sweet and sexy second chance romance. But the delectable descriptions of the food had me salivating and smacking my lips as I read. I may have picked up a pound or ten from her delicious words alone.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest Mia is a control freak in the kitchen. Long ago, she had thought that she had lost the love of her life. Long ago, Camden had thought that he had lost the love of his lfe. Now, both of them has a shoot at a second chance. Will they take it? Will they give each other a chance? The storytelling + the character's build were awesome! It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!

Loved loved loved this story! Once I started the book I could not put it down. From beginning to end, the quality of the story and characters was outstanding and now I am motivated to go back and read the previous stories in the series again. Well done!

Camden Sawyer had love once, and then he lost it, and now he wants it back... the day he let Mia Palazzo slip quietly out of his life is a day that has haunted him for the last ten years. He has never fully understood why she walked away, but she did, and now that they are going to be dueling chefs on a cooking show he plans to use the reunion to not only get some answers, but also maybe get his girl back too. They use to be an unstoppable pair in the bedroom and in the kitchen, question is can they relight the flame that fizzled out so many years ago? Mia Palazzo walked away from the man she loved ten years ago, and she has regretted her decision everyday since, but when you love someone and they don't return the sentiment it's hard to stick around and hope it will eventually take hold. So, she has buried herself in her work, and has always had a dream of running her own kitchen, creating her own unique menu, and becoming a success in the culinary world, and with a lot of hard work, sweat and a few tears she has managed to achieve it. But with all her newfound success she still feels like something might be missing... love! As she watches all of her friends find love and create new lives with their spouses, she can't help but feel a little envious, she would like to have that someday too, problem is Mr. Right just hasn't come along... or has he? Between the pages of Savor You readers will be introduced to two lovelorn souls who left love slip through their fingertips ten years ago, and now fate is giving them a second chance to rediscover what they missed out on the first go around. And of course their little reunion doesn't happen easily, there are lots of hurdles for them to overcome, heated discussions to take place, and of course some steamy little bedroom sessions to help sort everything out.... and all I can say is be prepared to have your world rocked!! I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting each one of the ladies in this series and their sexy soul mates and I have to say I am sad to see it end... but with that being said I can also say Ms. Proby ended things perfectly and saved the best heroine for last, Mia's story was definitely my favorite!! If you like fierce heroines then I highly recommend you check out this series, each book comes equipped with an amazing female character that will inspire some serious girl power, and of course the alpha's that managed to steal their hearts are pretty damn amazing too! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title

3.5 stars I loved this synopsis and I’m always eager to find a new sorbet author, so I was excited to read this one. I really liked Mia and Camden. They’re both strong and driven people. I really liked that they were both chefs and had that outlet in common. There’s a pretty big cast of characters and all of the people from previous books are in this story. Plot wise it nearly all fluff. There are a few bits of conflict, but this couple communicates and does it well. The constant thread of Mia’s weight got fairly repetitive; however, I enjoyed being in both of their heads. Overall it was a quick and cute read filled with characters who really loved and supported each other. I just might go back and check out the previous books in the series. **Huge thanks to William Morrow for providing the arc free of charge**

I've only read one other book by this author, Easy Love, which is part of an entirely different series. But I've wanted to read this series for awhile. I've met the author, I believe it was at Apollycon, or maybe it was at NOLA Storycon the year before that. I was excited to win a copy of this book from Goodreads, and I was not disappointed with it at all. In fact, I'm now so excited to get my hands on the earlier books in the series so I can learn where all the couples mentioned in this book got their starts and what their stories are. About 30 pages in I was giggling at the "twitch" moment. It's an inside joke from NOLA Storycon. Not sure I'll ever be able to read that in a book and not giggle these days. Then there was the moment when I learned that shower sex may not be as glorious as it is made out to be in romance novels. That's something I've never tried, so I'll have to take the word of the character in the book about how it's not that great for the girl a lot of times. And then there was a quote towards the end that was perfect. "When a person tells you that you've hurt them, you don't get to decide that you didn't". That's something I feel like I've dealt with. People tell me they didn't hurt me when I tell them what they've done. Instead of apologizing and realize I felt that way, they don't get to decide that they've hurt me. They can say they didn't mean to, and they're sorry that it hurt me, but they can't say they didn't hurt me. Sorry, a little soapbox moment for me. I loved our slightly overweight heroine, totally identified with her. And I loved her guy. I loved the story, and loved the whole world this book was a part of. I'm sure you'll see me review more of these books in the future. I'll have to even check to see if they're available as audiobooks from my library. I'll be getting the chance to see this author again at Book Bonanza, will have to get this ARC signed!

Tasty treat This is a great read and another wonderful addition to a fabulous series by Kristen Proby. Mia and Camden are meant to be together. But better trope then second chances. Mia and Camden went to school together and then end up doing a tv show together but they need to deal with their past. Kristen Proby takes you on a journey of love and trust and the friendships of the whole group of these friends. What happens when it’s hard to say that you love someone. I could not but this book down and was extremely sad this is the last edition in this series.

WOW.... what an amazing ending to such a great series! I love this series so much because these women are so relatable. Mia is a sassy, headstrong beautiful curvy woman who kills it in the kitchen but meets her match with her former flame. Camden is a sexy, laid back gorgeous celebrity chef who will be working with Mia iin a cooking competition show. The chemistry between these two definitely heats up the kitchen and the pages of the book you won't be able to put down! Prepare to be seduced, captivated and enraptured with another Kristen Proby 5-star MUST read!
