This is not a cliffhanger. Brenda Hiat wrote a romance about Jack and Nessa. Jack was a rake who desparately needed to be respectable. Nessa was tired of following life in the dreary path of acceptable conduct. When Nessa was three weeks from her mourning period for her staid, old husband, she saw a light at the end of her personal hell. She wanted to enjoy life. She wanted to wear beautiful dresses with colors denied her by her father, her husband, and the mourning period. Jack's grandfather was the one person he loved and respected. His death initiated a different life for Jack. To inherit his monies to support the estate he inherited, Jack had to become respectable. How was he going to do that before he ran out of the money to finance it all? Nessa did not want to give up her newly found freedom to be married. Jack dreaded a respectable married life. Brenda Hiatt wrote a romance about freedom, joy, and life without it. A book about limitations and love. I recommend this book.

Jack and Nessa truly belonged together and it was entertaining making sure they stayed together. Also enjoyed the sister's storyline.

Scandalous Virtue by Brenda Hiatt is a phenomenal read. Ms Hiatt has delivered a well-written book and filled it with amazing, lovable characters. Jack and Nessa's story is loaded with plenty of drama, humor, action and spice. I enjoyed reading Scandalous Virtue and look forward to my next book by Brenda Hiatt. Scandalous Virtue is the prequel to The Sain Of The Seven Dials Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I voluntarily read a free copy of this book that I received from BookFunnel.

I liked the characters well enough. They had great development. I just thought the story was a little boring. There was potential for nail biting drama, but it never happened. The conflicts that arose were always easily resolved and anticlimactic. I thought the first Saints book was better than this prequel. OK for a free read.

Great Read! I enjoyed this book. The author drew me into the story. It had romance, intrigue, and adventure. I would have loved to feel what the characters were feeling instead of just reading it about it.
