See You Soon, Afton by Brent Jones was a great read. This is book two in the Afton Morrison Series. Afton is challenged when trying to track down a young girl who is abducted. Unfortunately Afton has to be careful because she is suspected of committing murder. I have really enjoyed reading Afton's story and can't wait to read more of the series. This is another must read series by Brent Jones.

Afton has her hands full. The Man in the Shadows killed Kenneth but left a message for her making the police think she is the killer. Then her assistant, Kim has disappeared and she is in The Man’s hands. Afton wants to kill him but it comes to light that he has known Afton for a long time and her past is going to come out and bite her. The more I read about Afton the more I have come to hope she gets to kill someone. But I have to say the reveal about The Man in the Shadow and more turned this story on its head. That ending caught me off guard and I can’t wait to see what happens next. I really hope she gets to follow through on her plans. This is a great series and a super quick read. I do recommend starting at the beginning or you will miss something. Now I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

See you Soon, Afton really seemed to delve into Afton’s moral quandry. She’s always had these instincts to kill, but is it in her? Can she fool herself saying that she’s killing for good when it’s a bad person she’s after? What really makes a “bad person” and who has the right to be that judge and jury? Will she listen to her mother’s final words, and realize that killing isn’t the way to soothe her soul? Well, Afton is definitely ready to find out as people begin to make a re-appearance and turn all of her quiet plans upside down. I LOVE how much insight we’re getting into Afton and what makes her tick in this story! I loved her before, but she’s making more and more sense as time goes on! Learning more about her family, her mother, and the decisions that were made during her childhood really clarified Afton’s thought process and her need to kill. I am literally on pins and needles for the rest of the series! I have also come to the conclusion that Chris is THE BEST brother in the world! He helps Afton out even though she won’t give him any reason for the things she needs! He just goes and does it for her… I’m pretty sure I’m in love with him. MOVE OVER, TINA! I MAY BE STAKING MY CLAIM! I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a thriller, a story about family, a story with amazing character building, and a series with depth and surprises!

I read this book in one day and literally couldn’t put it down. The first Afton book was a warm up for the mystery, intrigue, and action in this second part of the series. We find out more about Afton’s past and it’s HUGE. I’m not going to spoil it because you have to read it for yourself. Plus, the cliffhanger from book one gets resolved with tons of action along the way. I loved the suspense of it all and I’m excited to see how Afton fixes this mess in the next book. She’s got a ton of work ahead of her.

When I finished this book I was freaking out!! I don’t even think I could have formed complete sentences to write my review! This book!!! It was EVEN BETTER than the first book, which was awesome!!! If you haven’t started this series, you really need to!! So, the book starts right off where the cliffhanger from book one left off. There’s lots of suspense, action and mystery. Some things get resolved, but then there’s twists and turns that are pretty shocking. The whole thing moves along pretty quick and you can’t take your eyes off the page. It’s so intense! I think I growled anytime someone spoke to me, especially towards the end of the book. No phone calls, I’m reading this book!! Lol! I had the book read in a day. I’m not sure how many hours, I was too busy reading to pay attention. We actually find out about Afton’s past, and that was pretty interesting (to say the least)!! I love Afton, she is the most fascinating character I’ve ever read about. And I absolutely love that we see things through her eyes. "That was just a big misunderstanding, I’m sure. I’m a children’s librarian. I don’t make a habit of hanging out in dive bars, and I definitely don’t condone violence. I mean, my God, I’m a vegetarian. I don’t even like the thought of hurting an animal." - Afton in See You Soon, Afton by Brent Jones So far this series is OUTSTANDING!!!! I am literally dying here to see what happens in book 3!!! How does Afton solve this next problem?! I can’t recommend this book, this series, highly enough!! I’d give it 10 Stars if that were possible!!!

Afton Morrison is a female psychopathic vegetarian librarian who has a thirst for violence and craves the thought of taking a human life. She also has a pet goldfish. She knows the difference between right and wrong; she just chooses to draw the line differently than most people. She talks to an imaginary version of herself ..... and someone she calls "The Man In The Shadows' who seems to be following her. The thing is .. she doesn't know if he's real or not. This is the second installment of a 4-part series. I highly recommend starting with the first book and reading in order. There are cliff hangers involved. A librarian co-worker has taken and Afton will do anything to find her and bring her home. Afton suspects that the Man In The Shadows has come out of the shadows and he wants Afton at his mercy. Afton is suspected of murdering a known rapist and the police are watching her very closely. But it's the family secret that comes to life that changes everything as Afton knows it. This story is full of twists and turns and lots of action. Being a novella, it's a fast read. Although there is a nerve-wracking cliff hanger, you won't have to wait long for the continuing adventure of Afton. Book 3 will be available 9/17/48 -- and Book 4 available 10/29/18. Many thanks to the author for this advanced digital copy. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
