Most of humanity has died off from a massive solar storm, leaving behind disease, waste, and a civilization on the verge of collapse. Humanity struggles to move on, to continue to live, when everything around them has seemed to fade and fall. The simple act of turning on a solar powered light has become a symbol so poignant that when it finally happens, everyone weeps with joy.Andrew and Mia have made it a year, thanks in large part to their hideout in the mountains. While the worst of the radiation flooded the earth, all around them people are still dying. The army is continuing to march under dubious orders, while the government elite sit comfortably in their bunkers, and the soldiers starve.
