Seeing with the Heart (Kindred Tales Series #3) by Evangeline Anderson

Braxx is a Beast Kindred with a painful past. A traumatic crash stole his brother and his bride from him and left half of his face horribly scarred. Desperate to avoid the pitying and disgusted looks he gets whenever he goes out, he takes a job as a scout, travelling across the universe to find new trade partners and power sources for the Kindred. He thinks he'll never love again until he comes back to Earth and meets Molly.

Dr. Molly Reynaud has a doctorate in Cultural Anthropology. She's also completely blind and has been since a car accident stole both her parents and her sight at the age of sixteen. Chosen to do a field study on the elusive Tal'ossi people from Tal'os Trenta, she doesn’t expect to have feelings for the Kindred warrior who is supposed to guard her there. But she can't seem to help the instant connection she feels to Braxx and she knows he feels the same for her.

But he's scarred on the inside too and he tells himself such a perfect female isn't for him.
Then the unthinkable happens--Molly is kidnapped by the Deep Dwellers of Tal'ossi and taken down to the subterranean depths as a bride for their leader. Braxx must go after her and suddenly the idea of claiming turns from a wish to a necessity.

Can Braxx overcome his tragic past and save the woman he loves? And can Molly convince him they belong together? Both of them will have to practice Seeing with the Heart or they will be parted forever…

Evangeline Anderson - Seeing with the Heart : A Kindred Tales Novel: (Alien Warrior BBW Science Fiction Blind Heroine Romance) The Kindred Tales Novels are shorter books that exist in the Kindred world. As with all the wonderful Kindred books there are hot alpha warriors, excitement, danger, adventure, suspense, hot sex and a challenging road to climb for that rewarding HEA. The overall plot summary is in the author's blurb and is a great representation of the story. This particular book deals with a woman (professor of anthropology studying different cultures) who lost her eyesight as well as her parents in a car accident when she was 16. Molly has learned to adjust to her blindness and has organized her world quite efficiently. Resigned that romance is not in the cards for "the blind girl" Molly concentrates on her studies. She's excited about the Kindreds giving her the chance to study a new culture on a distant planet. Braxton is a Beast Kindred , it is nice to see another one of his kind as we haven't seen Beast Kindred since the first book. Braxx was also involved in a horrific accident which has left him scarred both on the inside and out. Half his gorgeous face has been distorted and scarred. Worse the guilt he carries with him keeps him isolated from many. There is an instant electricity between them when they touch. Molly can't seem to stop wanting to touch him. Braxx is not only drawn to her but is also relieved she can't see his physical scars. Braxx accompanies Molly on her expedition not only to assist but also protect. Although they acknowledge to each other their feelings for each other, there are misunderstandings (cultural differences can be tricky) . In addition, Braxx's struggles keep him sabotaging the relationship, he can't get off the merry go round of "Im not good enough for her ." Besides the awesome sci-fi sexy romantic adventure there is a lot of messages and lessons within the story. Love, acceptance, what is true beauty and how to heal from the inside out. I also had to applause Braxx's shock that earth girls with "disabilities" were not allowed to sign up for the Kindred lottery. Another amazing Kindred storyline with new planets and worlds to explore, awesome new characters . Besides a great story there are also some important messages and lessons about love and acceptance.

What an amazing story. This is probably one that I find a little more dear to my heart. This was about two souls that were trying to find their way. Molly was one that had excepted who she was but I have to say I feel like she felt love was not for her. For who wanted a blind person, well at least in my eyes that is what Molly thought. Braxx well he was damaged in more ways then one and the pain he carried will just break you heart. I just loved Molly. She was this sexy curvy woman. She had so many challenges in life. She was blind. I loved that we got to see some of the struggles that blind people goes through. I personally know due to having a blind friend and find myself asking her questions all the time. So many times we take things for granted and I think this book shows the little thing in life that can be a struggle for some and be taken for great by others. Braxx is a beast Kindred. Hello, how sexy is that. Braxx was so perfect for her. Braxx knew what it was like to fell unworthy of love. Braxx also knew what it was like to have felt loss. Molly had lost her parents and her sight at the same time. Braxx had lost his brother and gained physical and emotional scares. The goddess has plans for these two and at times you might be worried if things will work out. I love that these two are automatically attracted to each other. Braxx will do what every he needs to do to protect her. That is one thing I love about the Kindred is that they are protect of their females even before they realize that female belongs to them. This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

**Received ARC from Booksprout for a fair and honest review** Seeing with the Heart is part of the Kindred series and can be read as a standalone. While there are characters from previous books that do come up, I always think it's best to read the books in order. The author does a great job of ensuring you know who and what everything is in case you haven't read the other books. I loved this book and couldn't put it down. The author has such interesting storylines, it's not all barbie type women that you read about either. Dr. Molly Reynaud lost her vision tragically in a car accident that killed her family. Traumatized at first by the loss of her sight at 16, she worked hard to get past it and went on to become a Cultural Anthropologist. Now she's ecstatic she's got the opportunity of a lifetime to go a another planet and study their culture. Commander Braxx hasn't had the easiest life either. While on a ship they crashed and Commander Braxx lost his brother, and his betrothed decided to walk out on him. Scarred and bitter he doesn't think anyone will ever want him with his horrific scarring. This book was very difficult to put down. I really enjoyed the characters, their chemistry, and the storyline. Molly's character, her caring, kindness and strength really appealed to me. The author does a great job of really getting across the trials that someone without sight faces. I have a friend that lost her sight and it really felt like the author did her homework for this character. I really enjoy this series tremendously and can't wait for the next book in the series! Hope this helps! Happy Reading!!!

Another great addition to the Kindred Brides series. Evangeline has a way of catching your attention and keeping you enthralled with the story. Each book in the series is different and this is no different. With each of these characters having their own physical issues, they're more realistic in some ways. This is definitely another that I'll be recommending to my friends and family. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book. Braxx having the scars on his face, and his heart, makes him someone you want to wrap up in your arms and hold him, but he's definitely made just for Molly. Although she's blind, she's so in tune with everything and having lost her sight in her teen years, she's able to visualize what's being described to her better than someone who's never seen colors, shapes, or sizes. Molly has fallen for Braxx, but when things get to close for Him, he runs without any type of explanation. Where usually I'd want to smack him up side the head, this time I can kind of understand his reasoning. Molly is a determined soul though and they finally get their HEA.

Another great addition to the Brides of the Kindred series. This is a side story which adds more depth to the regular series. We have new characters which have both suffered loss and a disability. Molly has come to terms with her parents loss and blindness due to an accident, but Braxx still suffers from his brothers loss and his disfigurement in his own accident. He goes as her protector while researching an alien species on a newly discovered planet. Between new cultures/customs, steamy encounters and a kidnapping, these two must find strength in each other. Will it be enough? You will have to read to find out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
