Overview

Serendipity by Janet Nissenson

Was meeting again an unfortunate twist of fate? Or was it just serendipity? Julia McKinnon was convinced she’d found the one – the man of her dreams, the most seductive, experienced lover she’d ever known – and the night they’d spent together in New York was the stuff erotic fantasies were spun from. But with the dawn of a new day came only heartache and betrayal, and her dreams were snuffed out like so much fairy dust. Nathan Atwood felt like the lowest sort of life form after seducing the incredibly beautiful girl he met in New York, only to break her tender heart with the confession that he was already involved with someone else. Leaving Julia was the hardest thing he’d ever done, and the memory of their passionate night together haunted his dreams for months afterwards. Now fate has brought them together again, and they are forced to work alongside each other. Will Julia be able to put aside the feelings she still has for her handsome boss and forge a new life for herself in San Francisco? And how long will Nathan be able to resist the gorgeous woman he’s never really stopped thinking about or wanting?

4.5 Star Review A few chance meetings between Nathan Atwood and Julia McKinnon, in Manhattan, brought on a night they would NEVER forget but when morning came, reality rushed in.  Too much alcohol and the most beautiful woman on earth makes Nathan forget he has a fiance back home in San Francisco.  A few months later, one last chance meeting, and without her knowledge, Julia starts working at a company that Nate is a partner at.  When you've made promises to one but you want another, which path do you choose? Very good story with great characters!  I love how Julia started dating and Nate was going crazy over it.  He's a very intense jealous man.  I could envision the story taking place like a movie in my head as I was reading.  I can't wait to read more from this talented author. *free copy gifted for honest review **originally reviewed for welovekink(dot)com

Literally one of the best books I've ever read. I could not put it down and when I wasn't reading it I was actually thinking of ways to  sneak out and read this. And I never write a review for any book and the fact that I'm writing one for this book seriously means that it's amazing

When I first read the synopsis of this story, I was immediately intrigued. Julia McKinnon and Nathan Atwood continue to run in to each other throughout the city. At first it is two attractive people noticing each other. On the last run in, sparks fly and Nate seduces Julia during his last night there. The next morning he breaks the news that he is actually involved with someone else who he happens to be engaged to. Shocked and hurt, Julia vows to never let this happen again. Nate found it hard to leave her, but he already felt guilty that he was unfaithful to his significant other. I know what you're thinking. How can a one night stand mean so much?! This is one of the best one night stand books I have ever read. No seriously, it is. I felt the attraction the moment they laid eyes on each other. Their connection is simply undeniable.  Not only is this story hot and steamy at times, but it's sensual, romantic, and truly heart felt. Months later, Nate and Julia are forced back into each other's lives due to work. While Nate remains faithful to his fiancee, Cameron, both he and Julia fight their feelings daily as the attraction between them is more than ever. I loved Nate and Julia. While circumstances kept them apart, their feelings never went away. Despite Nate's horrid fiancee, he sticks by her knowing it is wrong to lust after another woman. Does he give in? This is why you need to read the book. It does not disappoint. Those who are wary about lies or cheating, don't. The story is handled well. I absolutely love the writing style of this book. The author has a true talent for storytelling. I found it hard to put this book down. The writing is flawless in that it gives a lot of detail. I didn't read the story, I experienced it. Every emotion, all the angst, everything. I felt it.  I haven't been this excited about a book in a long time. There is no cliffhanger. Although long, I wish the book was even longer. Julia and Nate was able to illicit every feeling known to man. I became that attached and connected to these characters and their story. Love is powerful. When two people belong together and they think the world is keeping them apart when it has actually brought them together. That is love.  If you are looking for a sensual, erotic, romantic, passionate story about fate and love, then Serendipity is a MUST read. I cannot wait to read more of this author's work.

Reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers' Favorite In Serendipity (Inevitable) by Janet Nissenson, Fate brings together Julia McKinnon and Nathan Atwood. Both Nathan and Julia were in love earlier and circumstances forced them apart when Nathan decided to leave Julia. It was heartbreaking for the both of them and the memories of their time together haunted them both. Now they are working together and Nathan is her boss. Their hidden feelings and attraction for each other resurface. Will Julia be able to control her feelings for him? Will Nathan be attracted to Julia again like before?  Both the characters of Nathan and Julia are very attractively portrayed. The heartbreak that Julia goes through when Nathan leaves her is tangible. The conflicting emotions that Nathan goes through when he decides to leave Julia is woven well into the story. The emotional states of the lovers are different yet they are intertwined with each other. The author has done an excellent job in setting them apart, at the same time linking them with their emotions. The book is sensual and the romance between them is portrayed strongly enough to make readers wish that they get back together. The story is romantic and there are some moments which seal the intensity of what the lovers feel for each other. Julia's character is a bit more dramatic than Nathan's and she is more expressive. Nathan is intense and deep. The other characters lend good support to these two main characters to make it an exciting love story for readers.
