Sergei Yesenin (October 3, 1895 – December 28, 1925) was one of the most popular and loved poets of the 20th century. Born in a peasant family, he adored the countryside and much of his poetry is his attempt to capture the beauty of nature. Because of its simplicity, his poetry was accessible even to the common man.
