Shabua Days

Can the Big Bang and evolution be reconciled with the Bible? Was everything in the universe created in six days? Was Jesus crucified on a Friday? Is the Christian church supposed to keep the Sabbath? Is the Old Testament still relevant?

Shabua is a Hebrew word used in the Bible to mark time. Shabua Days provides fascinating examples of how the Bible uses shabua for short-term timing. Understanding a biblical shabua enables greater insight into many Bible passages, including the Genesis 1-2 passage regarding Creation.

Since any discussion of Creation is incomplete without also addressing the Big Bang and evolution, Shabua Days thoroughly examines both of these secular theories in addition to the relevant Bible passages. This analysis not only exposes some major unresolved issues in the scientific explanations of both the Big Bang and evolution, but also demonstrates how Creation is part of a precedent-setting shabua. Other topics covered in this book include: the exodus, biblical weddings, manna, the Sabbath, the Feast of Passover, the Feast of Shabua, the crucifixion, the resurrection, Pentecost, and more.

Shabua Days has something eye-opening for every reader, believer and nonbeliever alike. Solid supporting research, the clear presentation of ideas, the attention to detail, and well-argued logical conclusions make for a compelling and worthwhile read that is sure to provide a new perspective on the Bible.

About the Author

Paul Wozniak, JD, earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, his Certified Financial Planner designation from the College for Financial Planning, and his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law. During his second year in law school, Paul began to develop an interest in God's Word after attending a Bible study with fellow students. He gave his life to Jesus Christ later that same year. Shortly after graduating from law school, he began his successful business and tax practice. After twenty-five years in business, Paul sensed God was calling him out of the corporate world. Since that time-more than a decade ago-he has been using his extensive experience doing technical research to meticulously examine God's Word. His thorough and systematic approach to the Bible involves the study of linguistics, history, culture, archeology, and the sciences as well as travel to Egypt, Israel, and Jordan to conduct field research. Paul has attended and been involved in leadership at Mariners Church/South Coast Community Church in Irvine, California, for thirty-six years, where he has served as chairman of the Board of Elders and chairman of the Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Gail, have been married for thirty-three years and have five children, two by marriage: Conrad and his wife, Ashley; Jordan and his wife, Tayah; and Chelsea.
