One of the first people to realize that the invasion is taking place has written these survival notes that describe his method of identifying the invaders and also lets us know how we should behave in order to stay alive. Those stealthy invaders have been deceiving nearly everyone while they have been quietly, discreetly, and efficiently performing whatever task necessary to take control of our society.

The author provides details on how he first noticed them hidden among us, the evil mysteries that he himself has been able to solve, and a few of the battles he has been involved in where bodies had to be hidden or staged. He tells us how the events and struggles have escalated to become so violent and deadly. He has been a lone guerrilla fighting for your family and mine for the past four years, but his heroism absolutely had to be totally unnoticed until now.

Our hero is twenty-one years old and has certain special abilities. He routinely notices things that most normal people do not, and that ability allows him to recognize a peculiar trait of the invaders. The ability to recognize them becomes much more sensitive as he gets higher and higher. He also drinks a lot of booze, and he hears voices.

As much as he smokes and drinks, it may be hard to believe that he has been so successful in this war, but with his heightened senses and those voices helping to guide his next actions, he may be just what we need to retain our way of life.

Or he may be just a really high and deranged psychotic killer.

Loved the concept of the book. It had and kept my attention fhrough the entire book. Highly recommended, but you will have to get used to the grammatical errors as there are a lot of them....I would have given the book a 5 star rating if not for this fact. I do hope this is a series with each of the Trackers brothers being the main character. Thanks for the pleasure of the read!!

I really enjoyed reading this book. The storyline always kept me interested and each of the characters were developed enough in their own right to feel like their own person instead of cookie-cutter scraps of words on a page. Or pixels on a screen, in my case. The part that interested me the most was all of the well formed mythology. Every species of paranormal creature in this novel had its own history and customs, even though I had only heard of a few of them. And there were so many to choose from. I'm really glad that Christie Palmer didn't just come up with a few of her own and leave it at that, but was willing to include so many different kinds of characters to make up this well formed world. The culture of the Elements intrigued me with everything it offered, and I was heartbroken at the story of the Trackers and what they had to go through in order to survive. The characters themselves, in their own rights, were absolutely wonderful as well. Marlee was your typical smart-mouthed, kick-butt, catsuit wearing (you'll understand the irony of that once you meet her) bombshell, but there is so much more to her than that. Simon's unbreakable devotion was both adorable and heartbreaking, especially because of the future it held for him. And then Eric (probably my favorite character even though we don't really meet him until the very end) and his relationship with Kyra is just filled with so much pure awesomeness I can barely stand it. Everybody should have an Eric in their lives for when they're running tragically low on chocolate and Looney Toons themed pillows. It looks like this book is part of a series, and I'm very glad for that even though I don't have the slightest idea where it might be going next. Kyra's and Ryder's story seems to have wrapped itself up pretty well, so maybe we'll be hearing the tale of another one of the characters. Either way, I can't wait to see what comes next. Taylor

Note: I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This was a fantastically unique read. The characters were also really well defined and described. Kyra is a female lead to look up to, she is strong in character and does the best that she can. Ryder takes some warming up to but in the end he is just as hot and steamy as anyone can imagine. I loved the fact that Kyra and Ryder just did not magically have that instant attraction pulling them together in love at first sight. There struggles through different problems made their relationship more realistic and believable. I am really looking up to future books in the series.
