Shopping for a Billionaire Boxed Set (Parts 1-5) by Julia Kent

Ever meet a hot billionaire while your hand's in a toilet in the men's room of one of his stores?

No? So it really is just me. Hmm.

When you're a mystery shopper, you get paid to humiliate yourself, all in the name of improving customer service. Romance isn't in my job description.

But the day I met Declan McCormick it was love at first flush.

Until I nearly castrated him with my EpiPen.

How Hot Guy and Toilet Girl became an item involves my crazy mom, a trip to the ER, my homicidal cat, my fake wife, and true love.

Don't look at me like that. I'm just doing my job.

I'm shopping for a billionaire.

If you don't want to laugh, don't read this set of books. Otherwise, go for it, you will not be disappointed. Julia Kent is a wonderful author. She has the ability to create scenes which are funny while still being relevant. Completely recommend any and all of her books.

I enjoyed this entire series and look forward to the next book. It was funny, entertaining and the sex was too overboard. Great books!

Forget online dating sites, bars, and social 'networking' and think Men's Restroom! And for the absolutely best chance, simply drop your cell phone into the toilet bowl and go in for it when the guy walks in. This series is hilarious! I laughed the whole way. The author puts you right into Shannon's mind, mental comments and all. Between a jackass ex who can't take a hint, a mother who loves to embarrass her daughter, vibrators, and a sexy billionaire, what is not to like?! It was well written, had me laughing and holding my breath, and yelling you go girl! I would highly recommend this series.

I rarely write reviews, this book, however was great. I liked all the current pop culture references, especially the Outlander comments. I mean Sam Heughan, who can resist him? I highly recommend this book.

This set of books kept me laughing every other page. It's written very well, think Janet Evanovich and you will understand.

Julia Kent writes amorous Rom/Com slapstick at it's finest. The "Shopping for a Billionaire" collection is a rip roaring Romantic Comedy, that also (at times) has an achingly poignant storyline. Declan McCormick, the Hero, is an Alpha male who is typically calm, cool, and in control until he meets Shannon Jacoby. Our Heroine is awkward, yet quick witted, and genuine, and she shakes something shakes loose in him. Something that effects him without warning, fast, and fierce. This Boxed Set is actually a collection of 5 serials, plus a Christmas installment. But not only did I blow through this collection in a day I also devoured the follow-up novel "Shopping for a Billionaire's Fiancée" as well - it's that addictive. I had to hold myself back from buying the next installment in the series. I had an issue in the first two parts of the serial - a quasi love triangle. That's a pet peeve of mine, but it was disposed of rather quickly. There is no "Meet Cute" - there is a "Meet Contaminated" though which might be - no it is definitely more fun. There were times I could not continue reading because I was laughing too hard and I couldn't hold the e-reader still or there were tears streaming down my face. Setting the humor aside, the Romance was sweet, heartfelt, and tender. There is a back-story that is almost the definition of heartrending. The Hero and Heroine make tremendous strides in their maturing. Emerging out of feelings of Self Worth, Familial Pressures, and finally just plain Fear of Loss. There is a large cast of secondary characters - this is 5 installments of a serial after all. Almost all play an important role and some, more than others, seem to be getting into place to take on more of the spotlight in another story. There are grumpy cats, opportunistic exes, gossiping socialites, oversharing mothers, and inappropriate cars - just to name a few of the "off the top of my head" snort inducing topics. Let's not forget the most important prop of all ... The Toilet. The Christmas installment is a cluster of calamity wrapped up in a slutty elf, a sexy Santa, Russian Mafia, and some steamy Employee Only shenanigans. Basically, I needed my inhaler to read the "Shopping for a Billionaire" boxed set. I feel as though I should send Julia Kent a bill for a nebulizer and the hernia surgery. Shannon and Declan are a marvelous Hero and Heroine. Shannon's mother is too much - in both a good way and a bad way - which I think is intentional. Shannon's sisters, nephews and Amanda are fabulous. As well as her father, I never heard the term beta-alpha before but that is a marvelous hero classification. Declan's brothers - you only briefly meet Terry (but he's a doll!) - are great Andrew is a very interesting and important character. This collection is addictive - like mini cupcakes or muffins addictive. It's Gold. I appreciate full size leading ladies who end up with hunky rich men; it's not an original story line but the characters and overall comedy make this a great read. I laughed so hard I counted it as a work out, it's how I rationalized buying the rest of the series. I wish the stories were longer but overall it was like eating A satisfying dessert that contains just enough fruit you can convince yourself it was good for you.

This is my second favorite series by JK. It has all the hallmarks of her writing that keep me coming back. Hilarious real characters, Madge, comical mix ups, quirky parents, friends and bosses, and a great heart warming HEA- well almost. What happens when you meet a gorgeous billionaire in the men's bathroom of one of his coffee shops with your hand down the toilet on a secret shop? But wait then you have to drive around town in either a car with a giant turd looking coffee bean on your car OR with a picture of your mother advertising and ED pill.  Doesn't sound like your going to get anywhere near a HEA with the afore mentioned billionaire does it, but in the world of Shannon and Declan these are just the preliminaries of a great romance.

Julia Kent never disappoints!  This boxed set is completely phenomenal!  I absolutely love this hilariously sexy series from Julia Kent, and I’m counting the days to the February 26th release date of Shopping for a Billionaire’s Fiancee, the next installment in the series! For your convenience, I’ve broken out my review of this boxed set by individual book. Shopping for a Billionaire 1: Shannon, a mystery shopper meets Declan, the billionaire for the purposes of this story. It’s definitely lust at first sight... with the possibility of more. This first story in the series chronicles their hilarious first meeting and road to their first date, which is nothing short of outrageous. You will absolutely love this book! It is quirky, romantic, intriguing, surprising, and of course sexy! Shopping for a Billionaire 2: I laughed out loud at this book over and over again. This second installment of the series was, in my opinion, even better than the first... and that’s saying something.  I can soooo relate to Shannon... except I don’t have a gorgeous near-billionaire panting after me. She, like a lot of us, has some confidence issues but she’s working on believing in herself as best she can. Nothing better for the old self esteem than to have sex on legs, otherwise known as Declan, chasing after you. The chemistry between Declan and Shannon is white hot! Declan seems damn near perfect so far. The romantic in me sure hopes he stays that way. Shannon deserves some happy ending stuff. That’s somewhere off in the future though. In this book, we’re just trying to get to the first official date, which is no small feat when you throw in jealous ex-boyfriends, turdmobiles, half-mouse carcasses, and a very colorful family. Our boy Declan, however, will not be deterred. Shopping for a Billionaire 3: This book really delves deeper into the relationship between Shannon and Declan as they get to know each other better... like a lot better. Their burgeoning love story is so romantic, sweet, and endearing. Also, since these are Julia Kent's characters, you can expect some laugh out loud moments as well, including more penith jokes than you can shake a stick at. Shannon's family is also a constant source of amusement. The whole book overall is nothing short of fabulous, and if you're not reading it, you're missing out. Shopping for a Billionaire 4: I absolutely loved this book!  Julia Kent’s fantastic flair for character development is really highlighted in this installment as we see almost as much from the supporting characters as we do from Shannon and Declan, and it makes for a highly engaging and entertaining story.  You just can’t help but be drawn into this story and to root for these two to make it work.  Bottom line, if you want a story that is sweet, funny, sexy, crazy, thoughtful, and intriguing, then this is the book for you. Christmas Shopping for a Billionaire: I have been a big Julia Kent fan for a while now, and this book just reminded me of exactly why that is. This book is absolutely phenomenal! I mean, really... what could be better than Declan as sexy Santa? I’d stand in line to sit on his lap! If you want a story that is sweet, sexy, and LOL funny, this is definitely the book for you! * I received an ARC of these books in exchange for my honest review

I have both the books and the audiobooks, but mostly listened with the audiobooks. These stories were funny and romantic and oh-so-good! The characters are great...personally, I loved the grumpy cat! Her mom, boss, and best friend are all great and the conversations had me laughing and laughing. Shannon and Declan are marvelous and very sexy. All the emotions are involved in these stories. It's also about real, relatable people! I recommend reading this series because, although all of your emotions run the gamut, these stories mostly make you happy and you stay that way! The audible is narrated by the excellent Tanya Eby who made the stories even more joyful.
