About the Author

Judy Bridges is the founder of Redbird Studio writing center in Milwaukee. Shut Up & Write! is based on her class of the same name. "When you walk into my studio you will see there are no diplomas, no awards, no fancy icons on the wall. This is important, because when I'm teaching, it's not about me. It's about helping other people say what they want to say, write what they want to write." If forced, she will admit to having bachelor's in writing (fiction and nonfiction), a master's in adult education, and over a decade of professional writing experience. Judy founded Redbird Studio in 1993 and has made a difference in the lives and careers of thousands of writers. Her teaching comes from the best place: real experience coupled with a huge heart. She understands the awesome potential of a blank sheet of paper, the power of the pen, and the calling of the writer to fill the page. If there's anyone who can help get you to say "I'm a writer" with confidence and pride, it's Judy Bridges.
