A first time author for me. I really enjoyed this series starter. I haven't been a big fan of steampunk but found this story enjoyable. It was very easy to get into and I couldn't put it down once I started it. The blend of historical and futuristic and thrilling. It's well worth the read.

Archer's most recent book in The Ether Chronicles is an exciting, sensual, sexy adventure. Louisa is a strong, smart heroine. Christopher is commanding and physically strong, but emotionally vulnerable. They make a terrific couple. The steampunk technology is well-designed, too. I would loe t see a real ship like the Demeter. Highly recommended to fans of steampunk romance, and anyone looking for a good story. -- lyradora

This is a fabulous adventure story in a fascinating steampunk setting. Like this author's Blades of the Rose series, the action moves quickly and the stakes are high, and both the adventure and the romance are engrossing. I look forward to more books in this series.

A rousing romp through a steampunk future where airships are the norm and metal men stand with their ships to defeat evil! A great read - if you're looking for a hot sexy hero with a brassy, no-nonsense heroine who can hold her own (and him!) then buy this!

The steampunk world is beautifully detailed. The machines and creations are exactly what fans of steampunk want. But the author relied a little too heavily on "Will they or won't they survive?" which fails to find traction in a book that's listed as a steampunk romance where Happily Ever After is required. While the Man O' War Captain Christopher Redmond will appeal to biopunk fans, and the strong female lead will appeal to everyone, the lagging intensity at the end of the book means this only gets four stars.
