bookshelves: cops-feds-firefighters, fav-authors, m-m, made-me-smile, made-me-think, mc-to-love, read-previous-ones-in-series-first, series, mystery Read in September, 2015 I love this series. I resisted my friends' recommendations to read it. I don't know why. I am glad I read this series. Quinn is different from the rest of his family. First, he is NOT a cop. Second, he is a college professor. He thinks different from most people. He does not relate easily to people or to the world around him. He has had one love, but that love left him. Rafe had it all and let his inner demons and drug abuse take it all away. He has returned less than he left. The one thing he knows is he loves Quinn. He sees Quinn when no one else does. Quinn can breath when Rafe is near. Talking with Rafe was like sliding into a sun-warmed fresh water pool, its soothing movements lapping over his body. Quinn felt his muscles unclench, his hips sink down and loosen. A few minutes passed, and he realized it didn't hurt anymore to breathe. It always hurt to breathe. ...He had no fear of that with Rafe. There was never, ever any fear with Rafe. It took me a little while to warm up to Rafe. It was his care and understanding of Quinn that made me fall in love with him. I understood why Rafe loved him.
