When Greyson Archer tosses a twenty on the stage of a strip club, the last thing he expects to see are the haunted green eyes staring at him. Finley should be home raising her infant daughter and baking cookies, not tucking singles into her G-string and giving lap dances.

Greyson can't deny that he'd like his own private show, but there's not a chance in hell of that happening. The last time the former Navy SEAL saw her she was dressed in black, holding a folded flag and sobbing that it was all his fault... and he agreed with every single word. He couldn't do anything to help her then, but he can now.

Finley deserves better than this dingy club, and when an obsessed customer crosses the line, Greyson leads the rescue and will do whatever it takes to make amends for their broken past.

He never expected to want to settle down, but with Finley, everything is different. For the first time ever, he can breathe. But Greyson will have to fight for what he wants in order to keep the woman with the green eyes he's dreamed about so often.

SLOW & STEADY is the second in the Alphas Undone series, but can be read as a standalone novel.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, and I'm glad that the second installment was a decent read too. Kendall Ryan is fast becoming one of my favorite authors and I enjoy her signature style of writing. You are guaranteed a smoking hot read with plenty of interesting, complex characters, plots with emotional depth, and swoon-worthy leading men who would literally burn the world down for their women. Grey is no exception. Wallowing in a pit of guilt for what happened with Mason, Finley's deceased husband, Grey hasn't lived much of a life in the two years since his death. He has thrown himself into his work and casual hook-ups and not allowed himself to even anticipate happiness. A chance encounter with Finley changes everything. As a struggling single mom, Finley has taken to the strip pole. It's dangerous, especially with a creepy guy who appears to be fixated on her, but she feels she is all out of options. When Grey turns up unexpectedly, she is brash and aloof, still bearing the scars of grief, something she feels is his fault. Gradually, she opens up to him, sharing her family life with him, and that exposes deeper vulnerabilities. Ashamed of their growing attraction, she continually pushes him away, conflicted by feelings of guilt and betrayal. Grey is upset at her persistent rejection though he has an inkling of what is going through her head. I was anxiously waiting for the plot regarding the stalker to develop, and when it did it was a bit of a letdown. It was over in the blink of an eye, and I wish this had been fleshed out more. As it's written, I didn't feel like she was ever in any real danger. I would have liked this to have been darker, and more realistic. I think if a guy had a girl he had been fantasizing about in his house for three days he would have taken it further. It's the only reason this is a 4-star rather than 5-star review, because I can't find fault with anything else. The writing is good, the pacing is spot on, romance is perfect, characterization is superb. All in all, another great read from this author. Thanks to Inkslinger PR and the publisher for providing a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Greyson and Finley have a lot of baggage to overcome in order to have a relationship. Both blame Greyson for the death of her husband, Marcus. Finley is struggling as a single mother and was pregnant with Maple at the time of Marcus's death. Greyson finds her in a strip club and can't believe that her life has come to that. Finley is stubborn and really lashes out at Greyson in the beginning. She was downright hurtful at times and took pleasure at times in doing so. When Greyson finally starts to take matters into his own hands, things start to improve. Finley put her life and her daughter's life in danger when she didn't take a threat seriously and Greyson was finally done with her inability to accept his help. It was well done and flowed well.

5 star I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, grief, and heartbreak. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Bait & Switch (Alphas Undone, #1) This is Finley and Greyson’s story. This is not a soft sweet story. You will feel all your emotions. One broken woman and one man that woman blames for breaking her. This couple will go through tough and very sad times. This is a woman who is strong as she has to be and on the inside is struggling. Can Greyson who was around at the worst times be the one person who can bring her back to herself? Can Greyson heal Finley’s heart and make her want to love again? These two are so good together. They have a lot to overcome but in the end it makes them a stronger and better couple. I loved these characters and also the side characters. There are some tear filled moments and some anger filled moments in this story. But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book.

The title of this book is perfection the Romance that Kendall Ryan creates is a languid build and the Hero is dedicated in his persistent and unwavering wooing of the Heroine. "Slow & Steady" is a quick, sweet, and entertaining read. This is the second installment of the Alpha Undone series and has features a Hero and Heroine, Greyson and Finley, who have a complex relationship that they must overcome - he more readily than she - their shared past haunts them both. The Hero and Heroine both want things done their way - they are headstrong - but for the sake of the child of the Heroine and her dead husband, the was also Hero's friend and fellow squad member - they are willing to work together. Finley begins to see how much she's relying on Greyson and she doesn't like it so she pushes him away out of fear and guilt but that unwittingly puts her, and her daughter, in grave danger. Even then it's difficult for her to accept help - from anyone. "Slow & Steady" is exactly that, a methodical chipping away at the Heroine's walls around her heart to show her a steady and sure man who will love her and her daughter. Kendall Ryan sets an even pace in this book, a dance of sorts between the Hero and Heroine of attack and retreat then finally beautifully coming together. I missed the first installment of the Alphas Undone series and even though this is a stand alone book I wish I had, had a chance to enjoy the previous novel. Slow & Steady is not how I read this book! I set and read straight through. Kendall Ryan has quickly became one of my favorite authors. Her men are always hot and steamy, the women strong and sassy and the story lines are fabulous. I'll wait while you add this to your cart... Go on.. I promise it's that good!

This was another quick sexy read from Kendall Ryan. Grey is ex Navy Seal with a past that haunts him. Fin is a woman that's a part of that past. But when Grey comes face to face with Fin after 2 years will he finally let the past go? Or will he let it continue to haunt him? I really enjoyed the plot of this book and the characters created. Grey was sexy, demanding and had such a sweet soft side. Fin was sassy, vulnerable, and head strong. Even thought this was a standalone the characters from Bait & Switch make an appearance. My only issue and I'll try to be vague so as not to give anything away. Was when something happened to Fin, it came across as no big deal like just another day. I thought she would have come across as more panicked. This part of the book was lacking for me. I can't wait for what comes next!! I received a advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Ok so Grayson is kind of the best.....ok he IS the best. I mean hot, sexy, stand up guy, who loves to be in charge.....yup sounds good to me. Finley, a gorgeous girl who was looking to provide for her daughter any way she could got lucky when Grey stormed into her club that one night. They both had lots of demons to deal with and Grey had to blast past Fin's walls, but in the end they both felt the pull of love. Grey was suck a stand up guy.....just swooping in and looking after Maple like she was his own. I think Marcus would have been proud of the way Finley handled things. Another great book from Kendall.....can't wait to see what the next book brings.

Love, love, love the Alpha males that Kendall Ryan keeps giving us to enjoy. Greyson feels guilt for Marcus’s death and when he runs into his widow at a strip club, well, this is magnified 100 times over. How can he convince Finley to let him help her and Maple and not see it as charity? He wants to do right by his brother in arms. Of course, how does he fight the attraction he has for Finley while just being a friend and helping out. Finley’s world was turned upside down when Marcus died. She is now doing everything she can to make a life for her and Maple, her daughter, but finds it’s a struggle to make ends meet. When Greyson reappears in her life, she isn’t sure what to think or expect as she carries her anger toward him for Marcus’s death. Will Greyson find a way to break through her walls? Fabulously sexy and quick romance that gives you that Alpha male to drool over with just a hint of suspense for an unexpected twist.

A quick, sweet story about second chances. I liked the idea behind this one--the still-grieving widow, struggling to make a decent living for her daughter and her husband's best friend, who blames himself for the death meet up two years after under some...unusual...circumstances--and parts of the story worked really well. Finley, Grayson, and Maple (Findley's daughter) were all kinds of cute together. I liked Gray's protective streak and Finley's determination to be independent (though she did have a tendency to take it a wee bit too far sometimes). For the most part, I thought their "slow & steady" relationship was nicely handled. That said, there were some odd parts. The pacing is uneven--sometimes we jump ahead weeks at a time, weeks when we should have seen some more relationship building going on, so we end up feeling like we've missed out. There were also a few instances of one (or both) characters making a fast 180 about something that just a few sentences before they felt strongly about in another direction. It gave the story an odd, disjointed feel at times. The stalker/kidnapper plot needed a bit more fleshing out to feel truly is, it felt like little more than an extended scene designed to bring Fin and Gray together. (Not that this is a bad thing, necessarily, but a kidnapping stalker should be able to carry scenes all on his own thanks to his creepy mastermind-like tendencies and this guy was pretty weak.) Overall, though, there was more here to like than not. The hero and heroine from book one ( Bait & Switch ) make brief appearances, but Slow & Steady worked fine as a standalone. Rating: 3 1/2 stars / B I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.
