Christmas isn't turning out as planned for Eliza Bramble or Marshal McKenzie. Eliza's Christmas is blown after she lands a spot doing an interview on a national tv show and a caller from her past wants to make a reservation to stay at her B&B for Christmas. Why did she ever publish that blog about decorating? She makes plans to be gone while he's there. She joins a ski trip to get out of town. Marshal hosts a Christmas ski trip every year. This year doesn't go as planned. With a surprise blizzard, food and energy are cut low, along with maid service to clean the rooms. There will be no special Christmas dinner or gifts for the guests. With the help of Eliza, Marshal is able to give a little support to the guests and try to keep them from getting too upset about the change of plans. As Marshal spends more time with Eliza, he starts growing feelings for her. But after hearing who her ex-boyfriend is, he knows he doesn't have a chance. Christmas is filled with miracles and maybe he just might find her interested in him after all. This was a very sweet story with great characters and plot.

This was a cute, romantic Christmas story. It was a very quick read and I very much enjoyed it. Eliza Bramble runs a bead and breakfast called Bramble House. When her two-timing ex-boyfriend books a stay for Christmas, she decides that she needs to get out of town. She signs up for a Christmas ski adventure to escape. The tour isn't exactly what she had in mind, but it should keep her out of town until leaves. Plus the mountain guide is easy on the eyes, despite her being a single person among a family oriented group she goes ahead and books the trip. When a snow storm hits, the group ends up snowed in at the lodge with limited supplies and patience. Eliza is not only stuck with a bunch of ungrateful people but with Marshall McKenzie who is doing everything he can to make the best of the situation in hopes people would work together. It becomes obvious to Eliza that Marshall also has feelings towards her, feeling she is not ready to reciprocate. I found myself enjoying the story, despite the irritating group of people. Marshall and Eliza were amazing and judging by how these people were treating each other, their hosts and their circumstances, saints. Despite all the whining, they managed to stay cool-headed and do everything they could to keep everyone happy and comfortable. Because this was a novella, the romance part of the story was a little lacking. The stolen moments that Eliza and Marshall shared have only been mentioned in passing as an afterthought while Marshall was trying to access his situation. I didn't see the chemistry, nor the attraction and half way through the book Eliza drew away from Marshall and only wanted to be friends. The ending of course, sees them get together. I hope we see more of them in future books in this series. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Eliza Bramble wants nothing more than to get away for Christmas. Her ex-boyfriend John is a huge country sensation and has decided to spend his Christmas in Marietta at the Bramble House. Without telling anyone where she is going, Eliza decides to sign up for the Christmas Mountain Ski package. Marshall McKenzie is the tour guide for the trip and while he can’t understand why Eliza wants to be away from family during Christmas, is glad she is going. When the adventure turns into a blizzardy mess and the group starts complaining, both Marshall and Eliza wonder if they will be able to salvage their trip right in time for Christmas. I absolutely love the Carrigan’s and this story did not disappoint. This is the 4th book in the Carrigan series. I couldn’t wait for Eliza and Marshall to get together and wanted to pummel John as much as Eliza did! I love the characters and cannot wait for the next book!

I love the story telling by CJ Carmichael. I could close my eyes and see everything vividly that she was describing. A heartwarming romance that takes place in a remote lodge at the Christmas holiday's during an expected blizzard. This story brings out the true meaning of Christmas.
