Overview

There's no place like Haven Point for the holidays, where the snow conspires to bring two wary hearts together for a Christmas to remember

It's been two rough years since Andrea Montgomery lost her husband, and all she wants is for her children to enjoy their first Christmas in Haven Point. But then Andie's friend asks a favor—to keep an eye on her brother, Sheriff Marshall Bailey, who's recovering from a hit and run. Andie will do anything for Wyn, even park her own misgivings to check on her grouchy, wounded bear of a brother.

Marshall hates feeling defenseless and resents the protective impulses that Andie brings out in him. But when a blizzard forces them together for the holidays, something in Marshall begins to thaw. Andie's gentle nature is a salve, and her kids' excitement for the holidays makes him forget why he never wanted a family. If only he and Andie can admit what they really want—each other—their Christmas wishes might come true after all.

I love how RayAnne is able to draw you into the story right from the beginning. I love how Andrea doesn't let what had happened to her in the past affect her. Highly recommend this book

This is another of her books that you wish you could give more than 5 stars. Just a wonderful, hopeful, and tender story that involves the reader from the start. Andie(Andrea) and her kids have started over again in Haven Point after losing her husband and then being stalked. Marshall is the county sheriff who is laid up with an injury because of a hit-and-run. Since Andie is his neighbor, she is willing to help him with groceries and such. Her kids and her pets win him over. Just a delightful story.

This was a great new entry into the Haven Point series. Andrea is a woman who has had some not so good stuff happen in her life lately. She is a little gun shy about any type of relationship. And definitely not interested in another lawman. Marshall is a lawman who doesn't need a complication in his life after an accident has him laid up at home. As things move along, things heat up between the two. Great story and great pace. Couldn't put down the book until the end!!!

Another sweet story out of Haven Point! Andrea Montgomery has been through a lot in the 2 years since she lost her husband in the line of duty. She relocated to Haven Point, and is trying to get things to settle down after the drama she went through last summer. She just wants her kids first Christmas in this town to be special! Sheriff Marshall Bailey isn't the warm and fuzzy type on a good day, and now that he's out of commission from being injured in a hit and run, he's as cranky as a bear. Andie will do just about anything for her friend Wynona ... even go check in on her brother, the man that she's nervous to be around! Marsh doesn't like needing anybody, and he tries to run off the neighborly do gooder with bad behavior, but she's not falling for it. And when her young children start to worm their way under his defenses too, he knows he's in trouble! When a freak snow storm has the little family needing a place to stay for Christmas, Marsh finds himself looking forward to the holiday more than he should!

Once again RaeAnne Thayne has brought us a wonderfully heartwarming story from Haven Point. Andie Montgomery and her two small children immediately stole my heart and they were the perfect little family to help thaw the heart of the stoic and gruff Sheriff Marshall Bailey. Helping Marshall while he heals from a recent injury would try the patience of a saint but Andie won't let her friend and Marshall's sister down. Marshall hates to rely on anyone for help but he is drawn in by Andie's calm and caring demeanor as well as her incredible children. The pairing of these two was perfect and in addition to the wonderful romance slowly developing between Marshall and Andie we get the mystery of what is going on inside Marshall's department as well as who could possibly be stalking Andie. This one has it all and it's one you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

Andrea is a widow with two small children. She has survived the death of her husband and an obsessed man who tried to kill her. She brings out Marshall's protective instincts. Marshall was hit by a hit and run driver and is recovering from a broken leg. Andrea is his neighbor and is trying to help him out since his family is out of town. She knows that she can't get involved with another cop. Her husband was a cop and died trying to save someone else with no thought about how his death would affect his family. Marshall knows that being in law enforcement is in his blood and he can't do anything else. Andrea needs to accept that or they can't build a relationship. Marshall has an old secret that he has been keeping and Andrea thinks he should get it out in the open, but he isn't so sure she is right. Plus he has someone trying to kill him. They have much to overcome, but Marshall can't imagine his life without Andrea and her children.

I love Haven Point! Wish I could move there. Andrea and Marshall don't seem like a match at first. She isn't looking for anything more than a peaceful and safe life for herself and her children. They have suffered through the loss of her husband, a policeman. She has been through some terrible times with them and still they are sweet and loving. Marshall is as gruff as they come. Andi is trying to help him through a badly broken leg. The story is wonderful. Another hit for RaeAnne. Great characters, realistic dialogue and a happy ever after to melt your heart.

Andrea Montgomery promised her friend Wynona that she would check on her brother, Sheriff Marshall Bailey. He always acted so gruff and unfriendly but the more she is around him, she sees he is just frustrated by his broken leg and his forced sick leave. Andrea’s two children are not afraid of him and even hug him. She finds herself falling in love with him and starts to pull away. Her late husband was a police officer and died trying to save someone who didn’t want to be saved. Andrea loves Marsh but is afraid to trust her heart to another police officer. When a tree falls on their garage, she tells her children that they can plant a new tree and watch it grow. She realizes a new life with Marsh could be the same. Their love would grow and she should not be afraid of potentially losing him like her first husband. A great love story where two families merge into one.

“AN INTRIGUING AND HEARTWARMING WINTERTIME READ.” SUMMARY: Andrea Montgomery lost her police officer husband in a work-related fatality, and after that was taken advantage of by a fellow law-enforcement officer who acted like he was watching out for the best interest of her and her children. After barely surviving those life-changing events, she establishes residence in Haven Point with her two elementary-school-aged children, hoping for a fresh start and the healing they all need. Andie agrees to do a favor for her friend and neighbor but somehow watching over her friend’s grouchy bachelor brother while he recuperates from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident isn’t what she wanted to do just before Christmas. The fact that he’s the Sheriff complicates her compassionate favor even more. Andie wonders how a man can be so proud and stubborn when he’s in such need of assistance, and at times he seems to be the most disagreeable and impatient patient. Throw a winter blizzard into the mix, along with trying to figure out who was responsible for the hit-and-run accident, and trying to introduce a little holiday cheer into the home of grouchy Sheriff Marshall Bailey, a.k.a. “the bear’s den,” and you’ve got quite an interesting read. Add in Andie’s two children, some surprising secrets about the Sheriff’s earlier private life, as well as emotional developments between Andie and Marshall, and the cold winter in Haven Point is sure to warm up any reader. NARRATIVE CRITIQUE: Author RaeAnne Thayne creates a very picturesque geographic setting and inviting community of Haven Point for several of her novels, and SNOWFALL ON HAVEN POINT is one of the very best in her series. Her characters are well-developed, and the story is inviting and rich with intrigue and mystery. The author captures the attention and heart of the reader and skillfully interweaves mystery and emotional conflict throughout the pages. Likewise, the author masterfully creates interpersonal relationships in this novel. The overall story is very satisfying and brings healing of the heart for many of the story’s characters, and hope for the future. I read this novel during my cold, snowy 2016-2017 Utah winter and felt very cozy and comfortable between the pages of this book, actually not wanting to put it down, and consider it to be one of my favorite reads of this winter season. I am very happy to recommend this book. Reviewed by: ALICE M. BATZEL Published Playwright, Journalist, Freelance Writer

Check out the full review at Kritters Ramblings The next installment in the Haven Point series. This one centers around Sheriff Marshall Bailey and one of his neighbors Andrea Montgomery. Andrea showed up in the end of the last book and is now taking center stage. She is recovering from a stalker situation and Sheriff Bailey is recovering from a hit and run and trying to find out who did it. Because Bailey's sister Wynona saved Andrea she feels like she owes her so she accepts the task of taking care of the Sheriff as he heals.

I was delighted to return to Haven Point for one of my first holiday reads of the year. Andrea's story was meant to be continued and having the reticent Sheriff Marshall Bailey as hero was perfect. By happenstance, the sheriff is recuperating after an accident at the home of his sister Wyn, which is in close proximity to Andrea's new home in Haven Point. Wyn has asked Andrea to look in on her incapacitated brother, so with kids and dog in tow, she does just that. The good feelings continue with her kids, Chloe and Will, and how they delight in new holiday traditions as they settle into their new home and into the heart of a neighboring grumpy gus. Thayne makes this holiday story magical, with more information about Haven Point and the ties within. Even if you are new to the series, pick it up, it's easy to settle in for a heartwarming read.

This book draws the perfect picture of Christmas, with snow, decorating the tree, children playing, puppies, family events, and lots of love. It made me smile from ear to ear, belly-laugh several times, sigh so deep, even swoon a time or two. This tale is so well brought together I was hooked from the start. It is one of those stories where you immerse yourself so deeply in it, you forget the rest around you. The characters are intriguing and charming, and even though Marshall is like a wounded bear, in the beginning, he is a man who knows when to humble himself with an apology when needed. Marshall and Andrea have been aware of each other ever since the terrible events past summer. This book is part of a series that I have enjoyed but is perfectly fine to read as a standalone story. There's reiteration of the past events so that nothing is left to wonder for a new reader, yet so well immersed into the story, it's not boring to the series follower. As they dance around each other and try to fight the attraction they both are burning with, Marshall and Andrea form a meaningful yet fragile friendship where they share their thoughts, dreams, and secrets. Marshall's connection to Andrea's children is delightful and enchanting. The way the kids are responding to him is adorable. Andrea wants him to see her as a woman, not the victim of a crime she was. Marshall has his own burdens he is struggling with. Those troubles give the story new twists, a mystery, even dangerous elements, and few surprises. The story is filled with Christmas cheer with cookies, decorations, and children, yet there's just enough angst, conflict, crisis and dismay to make it a meaningful and relevant story. The clean tone of the tale make it the perfect Christmas romance, you can gift the book to any romance reader from younger one to grandmom without unease of suitability, and they surely will enjoy it. For me, there's nothing that brings in the Christmas spirit like snow, cookies, decorations, enjoyed with family and friends. This masterfully crafted tale takes the readers mind to that dreamlike existence, where elation is high, life is filled with joy and glee, where love flourish and grow, any troubles are faced together, encouraging the other to come through. ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Andie Montgomery's goal is to give her two young children a wonderful to Christmas to make up for all the sadness they've experienced in the past two years. And Haven Point is just the place to do it. This small town full of friendly folk has made her feel at home. Especially her new best friend Wyn Montgomery befriended her and Andie considers her her savior. So when Wyn who is away at school, asks Andie to look in on her brother Marshall after he's been the victim of a hit and run accident, how can she refuse? After a rocky start, Marshall and Andie are reluctantly attracted to each other. But Marshall's got a secret and an enemy whose out to injure him. And Andie's determined not to give her heart to another lawman. But fate and small children and Christmas have other plans in store. This heartwarming holiday romance is as good as a cup of rich hot chocolate on a snowy day. Bravo, Raeanne Thayne.

I'm still basking in the glow of this book. The characters are still having conversations in my brain! That means it was a fantastic book because the people stay with you for awhile! I really think Haven Point is a real place and I want to drive to Idaho and visit! We met Andie Montgomery & her children in RaeAnne's previous book so I was anxious to read her story. I knew she would be a strong character but somewhat subdued because of all that had happened to her. If you haven't read the previous book (Wyn's story), it would be helpful to understand Andie's history but RaeAnne goes into her backstory so you could catch up. Andie and her sweet children are wonderful and I loved getting to know them better. They have been through so much and I wanted them to find a wonderful happy ever after! Who knew it would be a grumpy, workaholic sheriff named Marshall?! But, it just goes to show you that one person can make a huge difference in someone's life. Marshall was a workaholic sheriff and not all that friendly so when he gets injured in a hit & run accident, there is no one to take care of him. His "smothering" family is all out of town so his sister, Wyn, asks Andie, who lives on the same street as Marshall, if she will just check on him and maybe take him a few meals. Andie reluctantly agrees because she owes Wyn a great deal but Marshall has always made her nervous. Marshall doesn't want any help and doesn't like people coming into his home "helping" him. Both of them are quite a pair. I LOVED to see how they both helped each other strengthen their weaknesses! And Andie's kids were totally adorable! The ending was so heartwarming that it ranks as one of my all-time favorites! I wish it would have been a few pages longer! You have to read this book! A treasure for the holidays, for certain!

I love RaeAnne Thayne's books and this one didn't disappoint. It's a wonderful Christmas season story of family, love and happiness, with a little humor thrown in. It was good to see Andie and her two children happy after all they had been through. It makes you want to live in a town as special as Haven Point. Can't wait for the next one in the series.
