Overview

Charlee Burke is stuck on a deserted country road the day before Christmas Eve, just as a dangerous winter snowstorm begins to churn above her. The only person she knows who isn't with family or has a sweetheart is the all-too-sexy-for-his-own-good Ace McBride—the last person on earth she wants to call.

When Charlee's name pops up on his phone, Ace is pleased, but surprised. As much as he teases her, and as mad as she gets at him, he figures she's got to be pretty desperate. Sure enough, she's in need of rescuing, and he's happy to be her white knight. He's always had a thing for Charlee, but he knows her history. He plans to show her he's a man who can be trusted, and she can count on him. But her heart's been shielded a long time, and it may be too hard for her to go down that path again.

Charlee's been afraid of relationships since a man ran a con on her to get to her inheritance. He ripped apart her life, and she doesn't believe she'll ever be able to trust a man again.

With the storm coming in fast and hard, Charlee's cabin is the closest shelter, but the weather report says the storm will last for several days. She's not sure she can survive being trapped in such close quarters with Ace for that long. Alone.

Ace is determined to win her heart. Charlee is determined to never go down that path again.

This was a sweet holiday read. I have enjoyed this series very much and I'm very sad to see it reach its conclusion. Charlee and Ace were such fun characters. I always love a friends to lovers storyline. The conflict of the story was just right for these two people. Everyone deserves their own HEA.

Sold on you is the last book in this series and is a great book. It can be a stand-alone book but I would not suggest it. If you don’t want to read the full series I would suggest at least reading Tying You Down to get a history on Charlee. This is a great story that shows the struggles that some people have with letting others into their lives. Charlee has been in so many of the books it was about time she get her HEA. Imagine, all it took was a snowstorm and her trying to hide from everyone over Christmas. This book is just in time for Christmas and helped get the Christmas season off to a great start. I would highly recommend this book, especially if you have read the other Riding Tall books.

Sold on You is the fifth and final book in Cheyenne McCray’s Riding Tall 2 series and while the end of this series is a little bittersweet, the setting, characters and story plot are utterly engrossing and provide the reader with laughter, tears and a wealth of anticipation. Charlee and Ace have been mentioned often in previous books due to their individual relationships to the McBrides; Charlee has been best friends with Dara and Bailey for many years and grown up around the McBride family, and Ace of course is the last unmarried member of the McBride clan. Everything about this book is heartening and engaging; from Ace’s sweet, charming and devoted presence, to Charlee’s reserved insecurities one minute to her total exuberance the next. There’s a wonderful vibe and loads of fun, and a picturesque winter wonderland at Christmas; but there’s also an underlying fear of how to navigate the future, when the realisation hits that they each are looking for something different. As with all the earlier books the McBrides all play their part and interfere when they think it’s necessary, but the arrival of a new bundle of joy results in wonder, devastation, heartbreak and self-reflection. This is definitely a story to be read from start to finish in one sitting, as I couldn’t drag myself away until I knew that common-sense would prevail and a HEA was in Ace and Charlee’s future. Thank you, Ms McCray, for bringing these captivating characters to life and providing many hours of drama, excitement and romance.

There is nothing like getting a flat tire on a very lonely country road the day before Christmas Eve ... and it's snowing. Charlee has decided not to spend Christmas with her friends and family because they all seem to have a significant other, most with children, or pregnant. The only one she can call for help is Ace McBride ... at least he isn't married or engaged. Ace is delighted to help! With a snowstorm over their heads, he can expect to be staying at her cabin with her for at least a few days. He's had a thing for Charlee since they were kids and this is a great opportunity to let her know how he feels and show her he can be the man she needs in her life. But Charlee has trust issues ... a relationship with a con man who tried to kill her sister to get to her inheritance 6 years ago has left her wary of all men ... even Ace who she sees as a good friend. Charlee and Ace are great characters. I really enjoyed the playfulness of their relationship ... the snowball fights, card playing, decorating a Christmas tree. As was bound to happen ... the intimate moments sizzled with details. But not every romance is smooth sailing..... This is an excellent addition to the McBride series. Each in the series can be read as a stand alone. Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this Contemporary Romance.
