Soldier’s Christmas Secret by Laura Scott is part of the Justice Seekers series. This is a very good series however this book can be read alone. The title doesn’t match the book as well as the cover. The cover is perfect for the story with the addition of the teddy bear. Hawk was the sole survivor of a military helicopter crash where he lost his team. He still has some lingering amnesia but is convinced that they were sabotaged. He has been researching to find out who was behind it. Everyone thought he was dead including his wife. He let her think that because he thought he was protecting her. However two years later he moves in next door to her. (Hard to understand some of his decisions; but this is fiction so roll with it). Jillian found out she was pregnant while he was deployed and she never got a chance to tell him. Most of the story is them escaping the people trying to kill him and find the evidence that he has on them. Lots of action and discussion of how he has changed from the man she originally married. As with most stories like this the woman was stupid and put herself in unnecessary danger. However there were times that she actually made the right decisions. This story was good but I am anxiously awaiting Ryker’s story!!! Sexual content - kissing Violence - someone is trying to kill or kidnap them, a few military people die, I received this book from Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. You can see my full review at More Than a Review dot com where I rate the level of sex, violence, language and drug/alcohol use in books.

Four years ago a plane went down with Special Ops Agent Hawk Jacobson on board, and he is assumed dead. He suffers from amnesia but he knows that the plane crash wasn't an accident and that he's a target. So he goes into hiding living life off the grid, using his skills working as a private investigator. But when his past work bring him and his wife, Jillian back together, he is afraid that she has moved on, but he is still determined to keep her and her daughter safe. Hawk is a skilled soldier, and even though he lost a lot of memories, he is a natural protector. He was one of my favorite characters in a previous companion book, so I was so excited to see that he got his own story. He is a good man, and he loves his family fiercely, he wants to do all that he can to protect them. I admired his willingness to put others' needs before his own, and how he is shows by his actions his true character. This is a fast paced-read, with a compelling and complex plot. Easy to follow, yet filled with action, intensity, and I didn't want to put it down! I'm by no means a Love Inspired expert, but I've read my fair share, and this is only the second book I've read from them where the main characters are already married. I loved the twists, the character development, and interaction. The story was compelling, thrilling, and well developed. You won't want to miss this one! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This was a book that starts the intrigue right from the beginning and drew me in. Hawk comes home just in time to save his next door neighbor, Jillian and her daughter Lizzy, from two intruders. Come to find out Hawk is really James Wade, Jillian's deceased husband. How could this be? He has been dead for 5 years? The day she discovered that she is pregnant, is the day she also is told that she was a widow. Apparently James was the only survivor from the plane crash that killed his team. He had amnesia from the crash and over the years, was able to piece together some facts in his "swiss cheese memory". The trials that this family of three, along with a few good friends, go through over the next few days is one that will keep you guessing. The person that is ultimately behind all of the nefarious happenings was one that took me by surprise. I was glued to me e-reader to discover the truth behind everything. The plot was a well written one that flowed nicely. I appreciated having a duel POV format here. Getting in the mind of Hawk (James) was such an interesting one. The poor man went through a great deal and was willing to sacrifice all for his family. Jillian on the other hand has to overcome the thought of being married to Hawk, who used to be James. Yes, this one really was enchanting. This was a clean romance that I would highly recommend to anyone.

SOLDIER'S CHRISTMAS SECRETS is a fast-paced inspired romantic suspense. The book begins with a bang; Hawk is coming into Jillian's house late at night to get her and her daughter out, as trained men infiltrate. The pacing stays fast as they go on the run to avoid the men out for them plus uncover the plot against them. With holes in Hawk's memory from after the accident, it takes a lot of work plus aid from the Callahans to piece everything together. Jillian has a lot of trust in God, and she prays to Him frequently for his guidance. She handles the news that the husband she thought was dead has been living next door under a different identity very well, trusting in Him to have a bigger plan for them all. This was a solid and enjoyable read. The romance was relatively minor compared to the thriller/suspense elements, which really kept the book moving fast. There are a lot of players/potential villains here, but it is all presented in such a way that it is easy to follow who is who and what we know about each. The length of this book makes it easy to read in one sitting, so this is an easy/engaging read to pick up any time. Recommend for fans of inspirational romantic suspense. Please note that I received a review copy. All opinions are my own.

An inspirational romantic suspense to heal the hurts. Hawk is hiding many secrets. He has partial amnesia from an injury but still remains true to his core values. Jillian is living as a single mother and widow. When evil comes to her door Hawk saves them and her world is forever changed. The story is about faith, friendship and love. What you have to hold on to in the worst of times is sometimes the only things that will see you through to the other side.

'If you would just put your future in God's hands, you'd find out exactly what God has in store for us.' This was my first book by Laura Scott to read. It was seriously good and full of suspense. A great hero, a plot overflowing with intrigue, and good secondary characters all make for a great read. This was so suspenseful that I was nearly going crazy trying to figure out what would happen next and just who the villains were! Recommended. *My thanks to Harlequin Publishing for a copy of this book via Net Galley. The opinion stated here is entirely my own. 5 likes
